Gamo Raptor Whisper IGT SAT Air Rifle

The performance is excellent for the price.

The scope is not the best.

I bought this in .22 cal to deal with some backyard pests. This was the first air rifle I have owned. With proper ammo and shot placement I was able to eliminate a large groundhog at about 15 yards. This gun is quiet and you can become quite accurate with it in a short amount of time... The power impressed me. I would recommend this for dealing with pests in residential areas..

Crazy accurate after doing a few upgrades, relatively quiet with the .22 (subsonic), comfortable to shoulder and absorbs any recoil. Use for plinking and hunting small game/ back yard pests.

Stock scope on any break barrel is typically going to be garbage due to how a break barrel double recoils. It's going to kill a scope in no time and thus you're going to think the gun itself is inaccurate. It's unfortunate but the scope needs to specifically be able to handle recoil from a break barrel gun. Stock scopes typically aren't/ this isn't either so the gun itself gets the blame.

Upgrades I've done:

- GRT-4G Trigger from charliedatuna
- Diana ZR mount
- CVLIFE 6-24x50 scope

I can consistently hit .5 in groups from 25-30 yards all day. I use Predator Polymags and JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy

Scope doesn't center as well as I had expected. 2 different people have tried to center the scope and we still are having problems.

Not as quiet as I had hoped.

It's lightweight and it handles like a Sporter. The feel of it was really good it just didn't perform very well.

More accurate barrel and more power I had this weapon in both calibers. Both weapons are in the landfill.

Don't bother guys, save your coin buy a Benjamin prowler.

There was absolutely NOTHING I like about this rifle!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even know where to begin..... maybe completely wipe out the blueprints for this rifle and start from scratch.

I waited over a month for this rifle, it was on backorder, and I was pretty psyched to finally get it. Once I got it and started to use it I was immensely disappointed. There's not way in the world this is a 1 Low sounding rifle, it is much louder than that. There's no such thing as getting any kind of grouping with this rifle. Shooting from 40 feet away the "grouping" was anywhere between 3 to 6 feet, YES feet not inches. The loudness and the lack of accuracy was enough for me to send it back. LIke I said I waited over a month for it and once I shot it I sent it back the day after I received it. One other thing, I bought 2 rifles at the same time, the other was a crosman valiant. This is not feedback about the valiant but I just thought I'd let you know briefly the valiant is incredible. I target shoot and hunt with the valiant. It took over a month of shooting regularly for me to miss a single shot target or prey. I can't say enough good things about the valiant.

The noise level, or specifically the lack thereof. The accuracy, the ergonomics (other than cocking effort.)

A better scope would be nice but that would alter the very attractive price; I can live with this one. A little more mechanical advantage on the cocking mechanism to reduce the effort required would be a big plus.

It took a while for the rifle to settle in. My first 20-25 rounds were all over the place. It coupld be the barrel needed breaking in, it cold be the scope and mounts moving slightly under recoil till they found a home. I'm somewhere north of 50 rounds now and it puts everything in one hole at 10 yards

I know every gun may like different pellets but just like to add that the pellet that my gun is the most accurate with at 25 yds (will completely obliterate a half inch circle) is the JSB Match Diablo Exact 8.44 gr 4.52mm). My scope is a Hawke Vantage 2.5-7x32 AO. I thought this would be helpful as a starting point. I tried a sample pack of Gamo pellets to see if the grouping would be better but the grouping was all over the place from 1/2 to 1 1/2inches at 25 yds.

The price is right. I like the trigger pull the most. I have been shooting centerfires for a long time and it is a great starter gun for someone who hasn't shot a pellet gun in over 50 years. Sighted it in, in the morning and disposed of several pests in the late afternoon. I also liked the look on the other people's faces at the range, trying to figure out what I was doing.

The safety is not what I'm used to. I would prefer a wood stock.

The gun belongs to a friend and he wanted me to sight it in for him. We changed the scope to a older Beeman adjustable 10 -100 yards. First I laser bore sighted for starters then manually perfected it to shoot 3/4" hole at 30 yards with the Beeman scope. I found it to be consistent when I got it zeroed in. NO flyers at a bench rest. Cocking isn't as bad as some of the reviews. Once you get a best for you method it cocks with ease....and I am 71 years old. I like the trigger pull at the factory setting and the creep is predictable. At least for me. On ANY new gun you have to practice the trigger pull to get what is comfortable for you. This one didn't take long!...Noise level for me is not a concern because I live in the country ..but the suppressor does it's job. Shoot on my range I have "Chickens" all around and they didn't seem to run for the hills like when I shoot some of my airguns. Weight for this rifle is just about right being as the power level is up there and helps

Pretty much I wouldn't change anything except the trigger being plastic could be changed. The price is in there !.....

I think for the price if you have little critters to eliminate and you don't want to spend a lot of $$$$, this rifle is a good one for you. . I have about 15 airguns and I just might add this one to my collection. Shoot at least 100 shots before you even try to evaluate what you have. LOTS of smoke from oil from the first 25 - 30 shots. Clean the barrel a couple of times before you sight it in. It will surprise you if you do. I would tell anyone to buy this rifle at this point with my experience.

I like the Gamo Raptor Whisper I have the 22cal once you get side it in your good to go I dont have any problems I use Crosman premier work really well couldnt asked for a better air rifle

Riflescope ok I can hit my target with this scope Maybe put a leapers Accushot 11mm Dovetail with Gamo Raptor Whisper I purchase 11mm dovetail lot better thanks to Pyramid.Air
