Description
Gamo broke the mold when it released the original Swarm Maxxim, the first successful multi-shot breakbarrel in over a decade. Now comes the Gamo Swarm Magnum the most powerful Swarm yet.
The Swarm Magnum is sure to become the definitive Swarm, taking everything shooters loved about the original and dropping in a revved-up IGT Mach 1 gas piston and Whisper Fusion technology to deliver next-level power as quietly as possible. If noise isn't a concern, there is also an unshrouded version that delivers all of the same power and quick follow up shot capability.
Featuring some of Gamo’s best technologies, the Swarm Magnum has all the benefits of gas-pistons including easy cocking, smoother shooting, and the ability to fire in cold weather. Once shooters load up their 10-shot rotary magazine, the Magnum can spit .22 cal. pellets at speeds up to 1,300 fps, a full 300 fps faster than the Maxxim. After every shot, simply break the barrel and the magazine automatically loads the next round into the breech. This perfected system has been left unchanged for multiple shots as fast as you can cock the barrel.
The Magnum’s stock has changed for the better as well. Featuring a glass filled nylon synthetic thumbhole stock, the Magnum provides shooters with a comfortable hold in all-weather conditions. Resting atop the stock is an 11mm Dovetail Recoil Reducing Rail System (RRR), designed to reduce recoil stress on your included 3-9x40 scope. For crisp trigger pulls, the Magnum features Gamo’s Custom Action Trigger (CAT), an independently adjustable 2-stage trigger.
If you want the most powerful version of this revolutionary multi-shot breakbarrel available, choose the Swarm Magnum!

What Others Should KnowVery accurate, very powerful
Power and accuracy
Things I Would Have ChangedBought twice returned twice, magazine broke down first, then shroud shattered second time
What Others Should KnowAwesome gun for two weeks each time before it breaks :(
I tried the H&N Hollowpoint 12.65 grain pellets and was getting an average of 1030 fps at 30 fpe. 1.75 inch groups at 50 yards. All-round great rifle paired with a Hawke Airmax scope.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowBreaking the barrel isn't as bad as they say it is. You get used to it.
I really like the feel. The distance and accuracy. I love the 10x shot loader. That is why I bought Gamo over other rifles. I already own a gamo .22 Swarm 10x. Both great breakbarrle rifles.
Things I Would Have ChangedA little harder than the other Gamo rifle to cock. But I just change my grip and works fine. Also I am a 56 yo man with a bad shoulder from motorcycle wreck. So I can't really complain. Great gun.
What Others Should KnowIt does have some kick. Good butt cushion.
The Gamo swarm magnum is very powerfull . My chronograph is showing an average of 27.3 FPE at 837 FPS with the Crossman 14.3 Grain premiere hollow points. I'll try the more expensive pellets after break in. The CAT trigger is crisp, and smooth. As far as quality goes time will tell. The accuracy is still being worked in due to the break in period is not near completed. With that said once things start to stabilize the group's will start getting tighter. This is my second Gamo break barrel, and after I broke in my other one the accuracy is amazing.
Things I Would Have ChangedImprove the recoil reduction rail. There's no way it's taking 99.9 percent of the recoil off the scope as stated. If it is I sure would love to see some solid proof! My other Gamo rifle has torn up some scopes due to the harsh recoil.
What Others Should KnowBe careful when cocking the rifle. If not cocked correctly the barrel can hurt you, and destroy the rifle.
Coming from an older Norica Gold, the Gamo Magnum is probably the best break barrel I have ever fired. Knowing that most non-pcp air rifles accuracy suffers past 30-35yrds, I have taken headshots on cottontail at 45-55yrds with ease using JSB 18.13. Cocking takes a bit of effort, but its not bad at all even after 100+ shots. Scope is decent for what it is. Pellets load smoothly. Contrary to what some say, this rifle is very quiet. I can shoot from my porch where I have several House Finch nests and it doesnt bother them at all.
Things I Would Have ChangedScope definitely needs some more, preferably some mil dots. Other than that, nothing.
What Others Should KnowThis rifle is not as pellet-picky as most make it out to be. Its accurate with the JSB 15.89, JSB 18.13 and the Predator GTO 11.75. I have put all pellets in 5-shot groups of 3/4 inch or less at 35yrds, and Crosman domed at 1 inch.
I never really got a chance to like it between scope issues accuracy issues I never got the performance out of it that I was looking for for $300! I spent the same $300 on a Hatsan flash PCP and I haven't looked back, you can keep the break barrels!!!!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe barrel that's got to be the flaw I couldn't hit anything for 10 yards away.
What Others Should KnowI bought this weapon with high hopes early amid the hype. I was immediately let down by its accuracy. What's the point of all the power if you can't hit anything with it. I'm no Momo I can shoot! Maybe I got a lemon. All I know is I've thrown six Gamo weapons in the dumpster and this one was one of them!!!
This Air Rifle doesn't disappoint! This is my first purchase of a high powered .22 cal air and GAMO really hit the mark this rifle is everything I hoped and much more! The weight of this rifle is perfect and the cocking effort isn't as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. I'm 5' 3" so I have shorter arm's and I have no problem cocking this rifle. The multi short mag is Great and it's easy to use , I would highly recommend ordering a few extra mags. I also upgraded the Scope to the Leapers UTG 3-9x50 AO True Hunter Rifle Scope, EZ-TAP, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1" Tube, See-Thru Weaver Rings and mounted it using the existing rings to make use of the Amazing Gamo Scope base. Second day out I was hitting 1 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards. I highly recommend zeroing in this Scope at 50 yards to make the best use of the high powered nature of the rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedUpgrade the Scope when you purchase your rifle you can always save the stock scope as a bachup.
What Others Should KnowThe two best Pellets I found are the Gamo Rockets and for Hunting the Polymag .22 Shorts (REMEMBER TO USE SHORTS. 22 WHEN ORDERING POLYMAG PELLETS.
Great rifle. Accurate and fun to "show off.
Things I Would Have ChangedInitially difficult to cock at 45 ft. lbs. but all thing take some getting used to.
What Others Should KnowI'd like to see PyramidAir offer a sampling different gr. pellets. I see differing opinions on which pellet would work best for my rifle so if there was a option for us to "build" our own selection of different pellets and test each sampling, e.g. 30 qty of 5 or 6 different pellets. This way we're not stuck with tins of pellets tht aren't right for our rifle.
