10 of 114 Hatsan Edge Air Rifle, Vortex Piston, Black Reviews
Own the .25 A very nice rifle for a great price.
Things I Would Have ChangedQuatro trigger
Price , fun to shoot good power.
Things I Would Have ChangedHard to get the scope mounted far enough forward to get proper eye relief. Scope mount will not hold. The"safe" is unreachable with this thumb hole stock. The cheek piece is much too low to use with scope. The air piston lost pressure within a year.
What Others Should KnowGood power means it is a bit hard too cock
Everything is great. Hard hitting looks good even weight distribution.
Things I Would Have ChangedScope, is not the greatest of course but for what you pay for what can u expect
I am beyond shocked at how fun this is to shoot. This is my first break barrel and first .25cal. I really just bought it for pest control for those pests that keep messing with my vegetable garded. However, I started zeroing the scope and realized I really enjoyed shooting it, now I can not help but to shoot a couple rounds any time I go down to the basement to do laundry. I can nopt compare to other .25cal or break barrels but: 1: Once you zero your scope, it is very accurate (I shoot JSB Exact 18 grain) 2: Packs a good punch, makes some very big dents on the thick sheet metal I placed behind my 10 layers of boxes. 3: Feels solid, it does not feel like cheap plastic, if i didnt know any better I would think it is a real rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedFor the price; I do not regret the purchase at all. Things I would change: 1: it is pretty loud, my neighbors definitely will turn my direction when I shoot outside! Perhaps a good supressor modification option would be nice! Too bad the ATF isnt fond of that! 2: The recoil does move my scope mount location after a good 5-10 rounds. At first I found mhy self Re-zeroing and then I realized it was the scope itself that physically moved back on the rail with the recoil. Now I just simply readjust and scope when I notice it moved from my zeroing location. If anyone has any advice as to how to keep it from moving back, please share! 3: The scope is not the best, it seems a bit blurry to me, however it does come with the rifle and the rifle itself would be worth the price we are paying in my opinion! so I take it as a freebie. Gets the job done and I do hit my targets 98% of the time! I am now just shooting coins and I hit them almost evry shot.
What Others Should KnowGreat buy! if you have any tips or tricks to keep the scope from shifting back on the rail due to recoil; please share! I tighten as much as possible without stripping the screw. Just keep that in mind when you are zeroing your scope and readjust when needed.
Wow! For $99.99 an accurate .25 cal air rifle? What's not to like! Shooting this side by side to a .22 cal break barrel, the damage done to 3/4 plywood was double to the .22. I like the fact that it has open sights, rare these days. They allow for very quick shots on moving targets. Scope was adequate for 25 yards, what you would expect to come with a $99.99 rifle!
Things I Would Have ChangedI can't say anything. Again, for the price, it's hard to criticize.
What Others Should KnowUsing Predator GTO 16.54 gr .25's I was able to get 702 fps, after flaring the skirts on the pellets.
nice light weight easy to cock good 25yard gun tons of power these even work good with the heavy pellets this is a good hunting gun for sure .25cal
Things I Would Have Changednothing its a break barrel rifle very effective
This rifle in .25 caliber is a good small hunting gun for iguanas, It packs a good punch with the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme pellets, cocking it's easy the trigger is not bad. I recommend this rifle for under 45 yards hunting.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would change the scope a better one.
What Others Should KnowIs a good rifle for $99.99
I have played with air guns since I was a little kid, I'm 71 now. I started hunting with air rifles in 1970 with a Benjamin 342 then got a Wischo 55n which at that time was considered a magnum air rifle shooting a 177 pellet at 750. I went through lots of air guns since then, but the Hatsan Edge is the best I have ever had. I first bought the .25 and was so impressed with the rifle that I then bought the Edge in .22. Both perform great. They are light weight, easy to cock, extremely accurate with a good trigger. The fibre optic sights are great and that is how I use these two rifles. i have not scoped either.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowThis is the best air rifle you can get for the money!
The appearance of the gun is great. A+
Things I Would Have ChangedThe breech seal area sucks. Air escapes this not so well machined area badly.
What Others Should KnowBuy one at your own risk and shoot it like ya stole it. Lots of fun but it could be a lot better gun if built better. I have put several pellets through mine and then looked down the barrel to find a rifling flaw from the factory. One side had a notch at every turn peeling lead. Sanded the bore with 800 grit to remove it. Shoots very accurate now. But the breech area still sucks its flat not angled like better built guns are.

Weight, Power, Ease of cocking, fiber optic sights.
Things I Would Have ChangedReliability. I fired less than one tin of pellets (0.25) and the thing is dead. Just get a "pfft" sound when firing and pellet stays in breech. Past warranty so I'm out of luck there.
