Description

If you enjoy shooting revolver air guns, you've probably noticed that there aren't that many of them. If you're looking for your first revolver, this would be an ideal one to get. The price is well below what you'd pay for most other models, and it'll be inexpensive to shoot because it uses steel BBs instead of lead pellets.

The S&W M&P (military & police) R8 looks & feels like the firearm it copies. If you use airguns to maintain proficiency with handguns, you'll want to get this.

A fairly authentic plastic Umarex replica of the Smith & Wesson M&P R8. It is far more authentic in appearance than Umarex's other R8 entry, the S&W 327 TRR8. The 8 shot rotary clips also function as effective speed-loaders.

A little more weight would be nice, although a laser mounted on the under-barrel accessory rail improves the weight and balance considerably. A laser also helps to compensate for the fact that the rear sight lacks an elevation adjustment.

Despite what other reviewers have implied, Smith & Wesson has no connection with this revolver other than the license agreement they have with Umarex to allow the use of their exterior design, logos and trademarks.

This revolver is very authentic looking. The plastic polymer is high quality and feels solid. Though the gun is light weight it has a decent balance in hand. The double action is smmoth and it's easy to stage the trigger pull while shooting.

While the double action is smooth, the single action is quite heavy and stiff...almost unusable! Maybe this will improve as the gun breaks in. An all metal version closer in weight to the real firearm would be great. Also, the bb clip doesnt fully extract from the cylinder requiring you to pull it out with the left hand. Quite awkward.

This is a really fun and accurate gun. Shooting double action, I was consistantly able to hit a small aspirin bottle at 30 feet! Also, on a 50 degree day I got almost 140 full-power shots per CO2 cylinder. I highly recommend this gun. Get lots of extra clips!

It's a real, live, honest to goodness revolver. That is enough reason to buy. Thirty years ago I spend part of a summer learning to shoot PCP. 600+ rounds a day, for a month or a liitle more, all through a wheelgun. Revolvers have a special place in my heart.

The pistol is far too light. The weight is concentrated in the handle and the pistol is light at the muzzle. While the plastic is very sturdy about another pound of gun would be appreciated. The rear sight is a "V" express sight that takes some getting used to. I'm shooting way better with it now, but it was tough going at first. The cylinder release has to be pushed gingerly when the "full moon clip" containing the BBs is loaded. The release hits the BB clip and makes opening the cylinder difficult.

It's a real revolver. The trigger pull is classic Colt, stacking at the last little bit of pull. I prefer that system as it allows you to shoot accurately in double action. Just pull the trigger all the way through until it stacks, check your sight alignment, add a little pressure and you're there. The pull seems fairly short and not too heavy to me. If the pistol was just another pound heavier the pull would by perfect.

The pistol is very quiet for a CO2 pistol. It seems to go easy on the CO2, I got about 80 shots before the BBs started hitting low.

It is fairly accurate at smoothbore barrel BB range. I've been shooting at 16.5 feet and I am pleased with the results. It's been a few years since I shot a revolver extensively, so I'm still getting flyers. I'll take the blame for those.

I don't have a lot of technical data to offer. This is a fun gun and well built for the price. If Umarex offered it a pound heavier and in .22 caliber with a rifled barrel I would pay double or triple the price for that gun as well.

This pistol is one of the most accurate replicas in just about every detail. The only difference besides the plastic construction is in the ejector rod where on the real steel it is black, not chrome like this one. This gun has a really nice positive grip and shoots very accurately with the adjustable rear sight. The loudness is quiet enough to shoot in your back yard but loud enough to give that feel that you are shooting a gun. The authenticity of the swing out cylinder and the under barrel picatinny rail make this gun an unbelievable pistol for the money. The hidden CO2 compartment in the grip is a really nice addition with a push button on the butt of the grip to access the CO2 compartment. The addition of metal in the grip adds to the weight which balances the gun nicely and gives the grip a really comfortable feel. I have added a laser to the picatinny rail and this gun is now deadly accurate at 30' and a lot of fun for plinking. Definitely a nice gun to shoot and worth every penny.

The trigger pull is a little heavy in double action which hinders the accuracy somewhat, however, in single action is butter smooth and very accurate at 30'. I would like to see spare mags readily available.

Trigger pull is a little heavy in double action.

The gun has a good weight to it it has such good plastic that when I first got it I thought it was metal there are still a lot of metal parts though and it is extremely realistic

I wish the gun were full metal and the trigger and lever are a little stiff it is also hard to put it on safety and the rear lever is a little crooked but nothing can be perfect

The gun has a very good aim

The design and S&W logos are just stunning! The ABS materials feels very resistant and the weight its ok for a co2 gun. If you are looking for a replica, definitely this is your gun.

The trigger is hard as hell!

Pellet version as Gamo R-77 & Diana R-357 would be nice.

When I received this revolver today, I was pretty excited about my purchase! I have read extensive reviews on all the airguns I plan to purchase. This was the only pistol I was interested in despite the mostly bad reviews. The reason I bought this airgun was because I have always liked revolvers, but could never find one that had appealed to me like this one! Just a little on the light side...it still retains it's heft! I was amazed at how solid this gun was for a composite revolver! The accuracy I have experienced was better than I expected for a B.B. revolver! The realism was second to none. I plan to use this for many years to come.

Maybe a little more weight for balance purposes...but for an air rifle back-up sidearm or target/plinking pistol, this should suit everyone just fine.

This was my first purchase from PYRAMYDAIR, but I have other items on it's way as I'm posting this! The service so far was great, and the website was extremely informative prior to purchase!...Thanx P.A.

I know this is an old review, but if you do like I did, the weight and balance feel perfect. On ebay I purchased a laser for $10 that had the mount that perfectly matched the hexagon barrel and the fit and finish looks absolutely smashing...not to mention the accuracy of the zeroed laser at dusk kicks butt!!!

This gun is accurate, good on co2 and fairly quiet if you want an indoor shooter. The size and proportion seem correct to scale of the real firearm, also has a nice grip feel.

Wish the gun was heavier and made of metal.

This gun is all or mostly plastic, but considering the price, that's OK because the plastic is of good quality and the fit and finish is decent. The gun is a reliable shooter, no misfires. Pyramyd Air probably has the best price on the web for this gun.
