Looks and feels like an M4 firearm. Shoots either BBs or pellets, so you can use whatever ammo you've got on hand. Since it's a multi-pump, you can pump it up to 10 times to get higher velocities or less if you'd like to do some easy all-day shooting.

Get extra clips (same ones used by the Crosman 760 Pumpmaster) and load up so you don't have to interrupt your range time with a lot of reloading.

When you shoot steel BBs, do not shoot at hard objects or water. The BBs will ricochet! No matter what ammo you're using, remember to wear safety glasses. Everyone in the vicinity of the range should wear safety glasses, even if they're not shooting. Remember to remove all pets from the range before you start shooting.

Things I liked: Very good quality for the price! Was apprehensive about it being thin, cheap plastic but surprised to find the materials thick and durable. Many nice features and quality craftsmanship. This gun is a nice little shooter and it's pretty accurate.

Things I would have changed: When going the full 10 pumps the last few are fairly stiff, but definitely not a dealbreaker.

What others should know: Got this rifle for some backyard plinking/target shooting with my 10 year old granddaughter....definitely in for many fun and enjoyable sessions with this gun. Highly recommended.

Things I liked: It is plastic (the stock, trigger), but it's tough, durable plastic. Fairly solid. Not particularly pellet-picky. Decent accuracy, not spectacular, but good for the money. Even better, the point of impact between different types of pellets doesn't change much. Decent trigger. Just enough power for short range pesting.

Things I would have changed: It may be just because it's new, but this thing is a workout to pump. The day I got it, I ran nearly 50 pellets at 10 pumps each. It was fairly exhausting. Also, you may want to remove the storage box ("magazine") when you pump; I ended up having a large bruise on my arm from all the pumping. The detachable magazine only holds 2 extra pellet clips; a minor gripe, sure. Other than that, for the money, can't expect too much. Maybe a bit more metal. Stock feels a little flimsy, especially when fully extended, but not a deal-breaker.

What others should know: If you're expecting a 1:1 scale replica of an actual M4 carbine, look elsewhere. It's not significantly smaller but it is (holding a .223 bullet next to the detachable magazine, the bullet was actually too long). That said, it's still a fun gun to shoot, and I've already taken 2 English Sparrows (a pest species where I live) with it, using a UTG red dot sight. The pellet I found to be the best (so far) for my particular gun is, to my surprise, the Gamo Hunter 7.56gr. At 12 yards, both shots blasted through the sparrow, causing instant lights out. For a larger pest, such as a crow, I wouldn't attempt it with this gun beyond 20 yards.

What exactly does the manfacturer rate this at would it be legal to posess without permit as max rating ontario is stupid

What's a good but cheap hard case for this rifle

    • Darrell from USA asked:

Can you modify this like you can a 1377/1322 larger valve, flat top piston, etc.....

      • Gregory from Canada:

Any mods done on a 760 pumpmaster will apply to this M4-177...the m4-177 is essentially a 760 pumpmaster wearing an AR-15/M4 disguise.
