A full-power rifle that shoots BBs or .177 pellets, Daisy's Powerline 901 sends BBs screaming downrange at 750 fps (715 for pellets)! (Never shoot BBs at metal objects!) Such power is built for adult use and teens 16 and over (with adult supervision). The gun is a multi-pump pneumatic. Combine that with the variety of ammo you can use, and this rifle may be one of the most versatile airguns on the market! The 901 is a BB repeater and holds 50 BBs. As a pellet shooter, it's a single-shot.
Newly designed, it has an advanced composite stock and forearm. For increased accuracy, the airgun has a rifled steel barrel, a TruGlo fiber optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight.
Cocking Effort:
- 1st pump - 10 lbs
- 3rd pump - 16 lbs
- 5th pump - 19 lbs
- 8th pump - 20 lbs
- 10th pump - 21 lbs

Even though it is a plastic gun it feels solid. Has a decent trigger, not mushy or gritty. My trigger has a crisp break and no back travel. It feels precise Pumping action is smooth and I think easier than my 1977. I like how the fiber optic front sight blade is easy to see in low light although it isn't fine enough for me for long range accuracy. Within 10 to 15 yards its fine. If the Air Gun Gods smile on you, the 901 you get will be as accurate as the one I have. After setting the sights up for 10 yards the first pellet I tried- a Gamo Tomahawk- shot well into a 1/2' group shooting off my elbows on a picnic table. I'm an old guy with old guy eyes and that's acceptable for me. Then I set up a 2" section of a 2x4, so 2" high and 1-1/2 " wide and backed up to 20 yards and knocked it over 4 out of 5 shots. That's acceptable accuracy for me and open sights. Next I put an old BSA 3-7 x20 scope on it and put 3 shots in a 5/16th's group. Looked like a 30 cal hole. Its pretty quiet
Things I Would Have ChangedPellet loading has a learning curve but can be mastered with the proper technique and practice. It IS easier without a scope. I wish the fiber optic front sight was a bit finer for more precision at ranges past 15 yards
What Others Should KnowThis is a great Air Rifle for the money. Easy to work on when the seals need replacing sometime in the future. Store it with the pump handle unlatched to prolong the service life of the elastomer spring on the pump assembly. Parts are inexpensive and available from Daisy. The internals are the same as an 880 but the exterior is more rugged. Receivers are the same construction but the furniture on the 901 is more rugged than the plastic imitation wood on the 880. You will get bit few times at first as you pump this gun if you don't pay attention to where you place your fingers. The first 901 I bought went back to the store because it was shooting to the right and I maxed out the windage adjustment on the rear sight blade and it was still not zeroed; With any air gun in this price range You pay your money and take your chances. That's why buying from a reputable vendor like Pyramid is important. If you get a lemon they make it right.
Scope rail works well; gun is light; reasonably accurate,
Things I Would Have ChangedMake the cocking handle like the old 880 with a handle; trigger is really heavy, needs to be re-engineered; get rid of the BB capability, I don't think anyone really uses this.
What Others Should KnowInserting the pellets can be a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is not bad. Good gun for the money, I cannot understand how they can make a gun in China, ship it to the US and sell it at that price and have anyone make any money. I made a device of wood and a 2 inch wooden ball for the end of the cocking arm, this makes pumping the gun, much easier and more pleasant.I still haven't found pellets at work really well. I will keep looking.
This is my favorite indoor low power rifle. It shoots accurately at 5m with as little as 1 pump. It's solid, comfortable, ez to pump, well made.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe scope rail is undersized, some rings won't tighten down.
What Others Should KnowThis is a must own rifle.
Accuracy. Smooth trigger. Not pellet picky. Light weight. Fairly tough. Very nice .177 caliber air rifle for plinking and target practice. Probably has enough power after 10 pumps to eliminate small pests and squirrels within ~20 yards, but could not recommend for small game hunting (shoots about as hard as Daisy 880). BBs are inherently inaccurate and -will- damage the minimal 'rifling' over time, so pellets only for me (a couple of years of regular BB use ruined a combo-ammo air rifle I had back in the 70's, which I'd pad for myself with months of very hard-earned wages!).
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing amiss here, especially at the price (shop around for the best deal).
What Others Should KnowNice shooting air rifle and one of my favorites for indoor target practice. Shoots quite accurately at all power levels from 3 to 10 and every pump is easy to complete. Very nice inexpensive variable pumper! I kind of hate to say it, but when it comes down to general shooting pleasure, I think I prefer this to my Daisy 5880. :-)
One of few remaining single shot pellet guns that are affordable for clubs for juniors to learn on. Still have to modify to install sights
Things I Would Have ChangedWould put sights on rifles that we can use to teach qith rather than us having to install sights ourselves. Either manufacturers or sellers provide what we need or with mood in washington this could end youth instruction.
Feels solid, pumps easy, seeks to shoot good, have not put it on paper
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter sights
What Others Should KnowMade in China
Price is in range club can afford.
Things I Would Have ChangedNeed to get better sights. If we can modify rifle so competition style sights fut will purchase more.
What Others Should KnowBarrel is wrong diameter for most dovetail attachments.
shoots fantastic feels very sturdy super accurate great sights easy to pump my favorite pump gun
Things I Would Have Changedpellets are tough to load maybe a mag like the 760 has now
What Others Should Knowthis is the pump gun you want i love my 880 but this is way better i have an old 760 pre mag 90's era gun that isn't as good as the 901 buy this gun you will love it ! plenty accurate with bbs
This rifle has become one of my favorites! I am amazed at its accuracy, especially with Daisy pointed pellets. It is easy to pump and is very light weight. The engineering and build quality is excellent. It is perfect for plinking tin cans and target shooting with wadcutter pellets.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing!
What Others Should KnowThis is a full-sized rifle that is perfect for all adults and a great first air rifle for junior shooters.

Weight, power, sights, trigger, overall design and simplicity, company heritage.
Things I Would Have ChangedDaisy need to put a 880 like handle on the stock. I attached a small drawer handle with short screws. Works very well for $5. Breech level could be more stout too.
What Others Should KnowA great gun for accuracy and power out to 15 yards. Still has good power and decent accuracy, although groups open up quite a bit, after 20 yards.
