The Crosman Legacy 1000 is a fun, rugged multi-pump air rifle. With its easy to use pump mechanism expect hours of fun as you shoot paper targets, shatter blasts and breakable targets over and over! With Crosman's new valve design, you can pump the Legacy 1000 from 3 to 12 times, depending on the distance you're shooting. Light weight and rugged, this gun launches alloy pellets up to 1000 fps, lead pellets up to 750 fps, and steel BBs at up to 800 fps.

Things I would have changed:pellet loading is horrible , need a mag system like m417

Accurate with lead pellets like Crosman Premier Hollow Points and Meisterkugeln 7.0 gr wadcutters.
Things I would have changed:Make it easier to pump. Make it easier to cock.
What others should know:From a rest, with BBs the best I could do was 2 and half inch groups from 30 feet. With pellets quarter inch five shot groups. This gun beats you up over time. It is an effort to pump. My fingers got numb from cocking the gun after awhile. There are better multi pump options available. Crosman M4-177 or Daisy 880. Both are fun to shoot and accurate.

Besides prise and looks is there any real different between the 1000 and the am77?
The AM77 has a chromed/nickel barrel,and includes a scope. The guns are otherwise pretty much the same.
What type of oil should be used to lube this rifle ?
The instruction manual PDF on the Crosman website says to use Crosman Silicone RMCOIL, which is Silicone Chamber Oil. One drop in the pump cup and hinges every 250 shots.
