Things I liked:

As with other PA reviewers, I love the quality, quietness, and capability of this Made in England compressor. Fills my Air Venturi Avenger in a minute or less. I needed to adjust the regulator pressure on the Avenger which required completely emptying its reservoir. After the adjustment I then filled it from zero to 4350 PSI and the compressor only paused once when it hit 75C. Half a minute or so later it started back up and completed the fill. I live in Florida and it's warm here... in colder conditions I'll bet this compressor would take the rifle from zero to max PSI in one pass without hitting the thermal limiter.

Things I would have changed:

As others have mentioned, I would have liked a longer fill hose. With my compressor on the floor I end up putting my rifle on a cardboard box next to it to do the fill. Not a big deal but a longer hose would be a little more convenient for me. I'm also considering buying an inline moisture filter for the air. One of the PA reps told me it wasn't necessary but when the bleed is opened to depressurize the line after filling, a lot of water and some clear silicone oil does come out. Hopefully the separator is efficient enough that only a negligible amount is going down the fill hose, but I'm still a bit concerned.

What others should know:

When filling the crankcase oil the first time, be patient. I poured about half the bottle of provided oil into the reservoir to bring the level to the red dot. Then over the next few minutes I ended up using another quarter of the bottle as the level gradually dropped. I've used the machine for five fills now and it hasn't needed any more oil. I did buy extra oil (both types) just to have on hand. I probably won't need the extras for a long time. I got an old beach towel to cover the unit when I'm not using it to keep it shiny and clean and protect the control panel. I'm so glad I didn't buy a hand pump, refillable air tank, or cheap Chinese compressor. I'm too old to be pushing on a hand pump, don't want to be carrying air tanks around to be filled, and don't want the annoyance of a machine that won't last. This compressor was pricey but well worth the investment, even though I only have one air rifle! No regrets and highly recommend this quality machine.

Things I liked:

NOT TOO IMPRESSED!!!! Received the first one in late Oct. did not even get an hour of run time on it before air was coming out of the piston head and would not allow any pressure to be built up, I have my suspicions that it was a refurbished unit due to the fact that there were oil stains in the bottom of the box underneath the two reservoir tanks. And top of the reservoirs felt as if there was some residual lubricant on them. I returned it for an exchange hoping it was just a fluke. Received the replacement almost a month later as they were out of stock and had to wait for them to come in. The replacement did slightly better logging in just over an hour of run time before the exact same problem occurred, I will try one more exchange, if the 3rd unit fails again i will try another brand. I figured for the extra $ compared to a nomad or other similar unit it would be better built. So far I was wrong. Hoping maybe the 3rd time will be the charm.

Things I would have changed:

For that kind of money I would expect a bit more reliability, especially from a Hill product, I have had a Hill hand pump for a while and never had any problems with it at all, I guess i was counting on that Hill name to be one of those "get what you pay for" scenarios. Needless to say so far i am left disappointed and frustrated. I don't think I could recommend this product at this time...

What others should know:

Pyramyd Air customer service is second to none and has been great to work with trying to resolve this issue.

    Things I liked:

Gui is straight forward and the unit feels solid

    Things I would have changed:

Cooling of the pump area could be improved as my pump went through a few cooling cycles just filling my bottle modified avenger, the air flow over the high pressure pump is extremely low. I will run a box fan across the pump the next time for an interim solution until I can figure out a more permanent solution. Also the green sheet metal that covers the high pressure pump was touching the oil/water separator and after its first use, it had worn in a small nic on the separator, so I had to modify it to move it away so no more wear would happen. given the price of the unit this does not leave a good impression. Also the thread pitch for the fill hose seems to be odd, I wanted to replace the fill hose from the oil/water separator with one of my own that has the standard? M10x1 pitch, it would not fit, I then tried the existing hose on a thread gauge and it would only partially thread into an M10x1, so I'm not sure what the pitch is since I don't have other metric thread pitch gauges.

Fast fills with my 400 and 500 bottles on my impacts. Very quiet compared to the Yong hang and air venturi, tuxing etc.

    Things I would have changed:

Add a bigger intake filter to make it even quieter. The loudest sound came from the intake filter so added an old high pressure moisture filter to mine as a intake filter and it is whisper quiet now and I can change filters easily

    What others should know:

Time will tell on longevity but with the auto temp cutout and auto silicone oil injection I figure it will easily surpass the China built cheap stuff that has flooded the market.

    Things I liked:

Performs as advertised. It is simple to operate, and the control walks you through the set-up. It is quieter than your average "pancake" compressor and fills most tanks quickly. You can monitor the pressure as it fills, and it has an hour meter to keep track of normal maintenance. This is a beautiful piece of equipment that is so well designed and built that one might be tempted to keep it where you can see it even when it is not in use. I'm sure that the people at Hill are proud of this product, as they should be.

    Things I would have changed:

I can't think of anything that I would change.

    What others should know:

Even the packaging is first class. I cut the top flaps from the box and inverted it to cover the unit when not in use.

So I actually bought this before a PCP gun! I read enough reviews to understand there are no reliable cheap compressors. I also understand that these are not designed to fill large tanks! That being said Ive been pleased with this compressor ! Appears to be very overbuilt not when I would call portable as its very heavy somewhat bulky! That being said this has proven to be a reliable resource for my PCP gun. Very fast fill time , computer controlled , auto shut down for overheating pretty much everything you need

    Things I would have changed:

They need instructions. I recieved a 3" by 4" single page that is poorly written and had to test ever function. Very bad and did not initially instill any confidence. I could NOT find any other documents from SUpplier.

    Things I liked:

Precise pressure control, obvious high quality construction, superb quality at a very reasonable price point.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing I would change is for there to be a installed desiccant filter to keep water vapor from the atmosphere from getting into the pump, bottle or rifles. Likely not much of an issue but it would satisfy the OCD in me. :-)

    What others should know:

I comparison shopped a great deal. I had almost settled on a much more expensive Omega compressor but the precision filling capability and lower purchase price were deciding factors to make me choose the Hill system. I have absolutely zero regrets The system arrived well packaged and I must give compliments to Pyramid Air, It also arrived ahead of schedule. I have two PCPs: a Benjamin Marauder and FX Impact. This system is a perfect complement to these two rifles. The only thing that I would suggest would be for an owner of an FX impact. If you purchase this or most any other compressor, a Foster fitting extension is available which is extremely helpful. The refill probe on the impact is recessed into the trigger guard and an inexpensive extension is almost a necessity.

    Things I liked:

Very solid and well-made compressor. Easy to use and pumps very quickly too. I like that there is no question as to what temperature you need to shut down the compressor to avoid overheating because it does it automatically. I also like that it will restart itself when it has cooled enough to safely do so.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing that comes to mind is to relocate the breather-cap location for the red crank oil. People with fat fingers like mine have trouble getting a good grip on the cap to loosen it and also to get the threaded cap in place to re-insert it.

    What others should know:

I have only had mine a few weeks, so I can't speak to its longevity, but it is a heavy well made compressor. The welds, fit and finish of each part of the compressor and frame leads me to believe that the interior parts are designed and built just as well also. It is expensive, but from what I've experienced so far, I believe it is worth it and should last a very long time.

I've examined this pump with a fine-tooth comb, and I'm amazed at the degree of engineering and built quality. It's sits prominently on my work bench as it truly is a work of art, IMO.

    Things I would have changed:

LONGER WHIP! Come on - doubling the length is well worth an added expense. Though it may be a designed safety feature, you shouldn't have to reset the pressure setting every time you switch it on. Complete pump and power specifications should be included with the pump instead of seeking them online.

    What others should know:

Shopping for a 12v inverter to run it in the field.

so far, so good. Fills quickly and has temperature protection. Much quieter than the Nomad II

    Things I would have changed:

The setup manual says to put the 50ml of engine oil in, but does not warn that this is generally about 40 ml-NOT THE FULL BOTTLE.

    What others should know:

Watch the youtube video about setup, it will prevent overfilling the engine oil. This is my second compressor. First one cost $800 and has been sent back for warranty repair, going on three weeks and not information on when I'll get it back. The quick connect foster fitting is just okay but is somewhat difficult to use with Impact MKII fill port location-even with the Saber Tactical oversized opening.

This compressors is super high quality and works like a dream. ! The safety features and preventative fail safe are a nice added bonus with this unit. The check oil fail safety gives great confidence that details matter with this equipment . I have been super happy with all this compressors has to offer !

    Things I would have changed:

I would like to see a protective transport and storage case for it when it is used in the field and transported in the truck or trunk ... FYI this unit fits like a glove in the large Dewalt pack out case on wheels I transport it in the case and place it on the lid when in use. Works great to protect it from any damage when locked and loaded inside .with the handle and wheels on the Dewalt packout case make it super easy to move around.

    Things I liked:

I like everything about this compressor. It's simple that you have a sight glass for seeing oil levels, so no guessing on if and when to oil it. My 480 cc bottle fills from 150 bar to 250 bar is just under 2 min. It just a sweet compressor.

    Things I would have changed:

For the price would like to see a longer warranty.

    What others should know:

I had a Nomad 1 compressor that had broken after 2.5 years that actually didn't have a lot of hours on it, I wouldn't go back to a Nomad after owning the Hill.

    Things I liked:

Very well built, easy to use, and pretty quiet. This is an impressive piece of British engineering and the single wheel control with display screen is intuitive. Basically just add the lubricants and use it. The crankcase oil does take a few minutes to distribute itself, but just keep adding a bit until it stabilizes at the correct level. Tops off my Prod in a minute, Wildcat .25 in 2 min, and 90 ci bottle in about 15 min, with brief, automatic pauses to cool. Now instead of carefully rationing a bottle charge, I can shoot all I want! Love it.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

This is a fairly heavy unit, but compact, and the tubular frame both protects pump and provides great handles. I spent over two years watching as multiple compressors hit the market and were reviewed. I wanted something to provide trouble-free service for a long time at my house and decided to spend a little more to get real quality. After a month I am very optimistic about this one.

    Things I liked:

The compressor is very well designed and built. It is easy to set up with good instructions. Setting the pressure each time takes a little practice but it prevents accidental overcharging. It has been a delight to use, not very loud and it is fast, topping off a gun in a couple of minutes. It is my first compressor and I vacillated between several midrange units and decided on the Hill after reading the operating instructions on line. The open design makes it easy to monitor and the single control wheel is quite intuitive. I toggle between "bar" and "psi" because of different gages on guns, set the pressure and press the dial in and it starts. The display shows the pressure as it climbs and the temperature. If, for any reason you can push the dial to stop, so you have control during the fill. All in all a great pump with few moving parts.

    Things I would have changed:

There are a couple of things I might change. It would be nice to have a longer high pressure fill hose. It is easy enough to buy a longer version so this is minor. Secondly, when the pressure relief valve is opened a small amount of water and silicone oil are discharged. I put a small cup under it and it catches most of it. Some oil gets on your hand and from there it can be spread around. It is very clear and clean and it spreads easily. I'm thinking about adding a short length of stainless steel and a high pressure valve as a replacement. I probably wouldn't bother but I got some oil into my eye from my fingers and it was a problem.

    What others should know:

I mentioned the shortness of the fill hose. It isn't an issue if the compressor is on a bench where a gun is being filled. Instead of lifting the unit each time, I'm making a small rolling cart with a fold out shelf to hold the gun. That way it is portable and ready to go.
