Things I liked:

I like everything about this pump. That plastic footrest is not some thin flimsy part. It is very adequate for the stress it has to withstand. I haven't read in any of the reviews about one breaking. The desiccant filter is also mostly plastic, but it takes no stress, and is out of the way. Again, it is not flimsy. It also seems to be more effective than the after-market unit for the Benjamin pump. I have four of those. (I do PCP rebuilds and the closest fill station for a tank is too far for adequate convenience.) I have that many because when one goes out I have another to use until I rebuild the other and I use them in two locations. The gauge on the Hill is better quality than the Benjamin, but I have never had trouble from those either. The hose on the Hill is a good bit longer with much better flexibility and the quick disconnect is smoother operating. The Hill initially pressurizes slower at the start, but after about 50 pumps you have caught up with the Benjamin and move ahead.

Things I would have changed:

I made my own airtight cover for the desiccant filter's intake so that it does not absorb moisture when not in use. It is not a complicated device. An o-ring fits below the intake onto the neck of the filter body to provide a seal between the cover and filter. I doubt it would cost a dollar to have one included with the pump.

What others should know:

The Hill pump requires much less force at all pressures compared to the Benjamin pump. Using the Hill pump I never have to bend my knees and apply force with my body weight. I am 65 years old and in very good health but weigh more than I like to admit. The Benjamin pump works me a lot harder to get to 3000 psi than the Hill does. At about 2500 psi with the Benjamin, I have to begin bending my knees and applying my weight over the handle to continue. I get pretty well up in the cardio-vascular cycle before I complete the task. With the Hill, I can just continue pumping with my arms all the way to 3000 psi and I am just beginning to feel taxed. (I do not pump continuously, but in 75 stroke sessions and let the pump cool.) I have seen men that weighed about 165 lbs. get lifted off the floor trying to use the Benjamin pump as it approaches 3000 psi. From my experience just using my arms, I think the Hill may allow those lightweight fella's to get the job done with both feet on the floor!

Things I liked:

I was able to get enough air into the tank to get my gun to fire, after three people operated the pump till they were tired from the pumping.

Things I would have changed:

I'd buy an electric pump.

What others should know:

This just isn't worth the effort for me. I'm sure glad this is a gift to my son. He'll have a lot of fun with the effort needed to use a hand pump to get the gun to work.

    Things I liked:

I like the fact that I can fill my Marauder from 2000 to 3000 psi in about 100 strokes. And the pump functions very smoothly.

    Things I would have changed:

I would make the dry pack instructions much clearer. The dry packet does not fill up the plastic cylinder to the top. Is it supposed to? I also wonder if that plastic dry pack is really worth $70 bucks. Maybe the MK4 without the dry pack would have worked just as good. Although I like the idea the air going into the gun is dry, hopefully that will increase the life of the gun.

    What others should know:

It was very easy to take it out of the box and put it together.

I bought the Hill MK4 to replace my 11 year old Benjamin pump, which seemed to be getting tired. Easiest pump fill I've ever had for my Marauder.

    Things I liked:

Hassle free, easy to understand directions, and easy to assemble. It is, what it is, and works as advertised. Plus, none of the high maintenance issues I have from my electric pump.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, I understand what it is.

    What others should know:

I read the reviews before purchasing. Pumping my new Umarex Gauntlet .25 caliber, with this hand pump, takes the place of going to the gym. I LOVE the arm, shoulder, and wrist workout I get, its the same as repetitions I do at the gym. Plus, I get to shoot as soon as I am done. YES! Woodys World.

It is very well built. It pumps up my pcp air rifles faster than the cheap kind.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing so far.

    What others should know:

If you want a good hand pump you should buy this one. Yea its a work out just like any other but with fewer pumps to fill your pcp. Its better than spending thousands unless you got money to blow.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Be aware, the pressure gauge on mine is about 400 PSI less than the gauge on my Dragon Claw. Not sure which is correct, but i go by the gun gauge.

    Things I would have changed:

    Maybe a little longer hose.

    What others should know:

It's alot of work! after a few usages you'll be considering a Nomad.

    Things I liked:

Recommended by the sales department at Pyramid Air because it is the best pump to invest in right now. Easy to assemble and use. Does a good job accumulating pressure. Has moisture absorbing feature and kit includes an extra pack of absorbent pellets. Kit includes the quick release connector to make attaching and disconnection easy. 1 - lubricant included

    Things I would have changed:

It would be nice if there were a hose clip to keep hose about of the way when not in use. Extra silicone lubricant.

    What others should know:

Remember to close brass air pressure/bleed release screw before pumping and REMEMBER to bleed out the air in the pump and hose before disconnecting from air canister.f Double-check that all of your connections are tight before you start especially the bleed valve and where the hose connects to the pump because moving the hose around can loosen it.

    Things I liked:

Top quality hand pump, not disappointed at all. I used it to fill my AA S510 TDR and it is almost as fast as my compressor from 100 bar mark. The best thing is that just when it starts to get hard to pump my rifle is at the 215 - 225 bar pressure mark (which is where I like it) so I know when I should stop even if something should happen with the gauges. The silicone grease included was nice.

    Things I would have changed:

Include at least a basic O-ring rebuild kit. A longer hose and a 90 degree / vertical outlet on the pump so the hose would store next to the pump tube for easier transport and storage. Maybe in the MK5............?

    What others should know:

Replaced the factory hose with the AV-005 MicroBoreHose and purchased the HIL-Z4128-401 rebuild kit for future use.

    Things I liked:

Easy to put together only need a couple common tools and the instructions are clear. Its easy to to operate and gives you a little work out as the pressure builds

    Things I would have changed:

The base is made of a thin-ish plastics but sturdy would like to see it be more solid and the grips on the handle should be textured a little differently but thats personal preference

    What others should know:

As it does build pressure it does become more difficult to pump Im 5 foot 6 and 150 pounds and need to put in some effort and out my weight into it after 2500 psi

    Things I liked:

This is the first pump I have bought so I nothing to compare with but my first impression was of high quality. It seems efficient and pumps a 3000psi tank full fairly easy.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the handle grips. The anti slip design used now begins to dig into your hands after a while. Supply a longer hose.

    What others should know:

This is a nice pump. A bit pricey but quality comes with a price. I am happy with mine.

    Verified Purchase

    Things I liked:

Smooth pumping, very flexible air hose, kit comes with standard female Foster-style quick-disconnect fitting, comes with tube of silicone grease for keeping the pump shaft lubed. Super easy to assemble without tools, can break down pretty easily too for transportation in a gun case. As long as the bleed valve is kept properly snug, no problem pumping up to nearly 300 bar in my EDgun R5M and Leshiy. The air pressure gauge seems to be reliable and agrees fairly closely with the electronic gauges in my Edguns. This pump is apparently relatively easy to maintain and rebuild as needed, with ready availability of seal kits.

    Things I would have changed:

I have read that it's better to try to trap moisture in the compressed air in the output hose rather than on the suction side as this kit does. Not sure how well that could be accomplished. Pumping requires a lot of effort and this hand pump is for filling the reservoir in your gun only. It is absolutely not suitable for trying to fill a large tank. If you buy it for filling your gun only you will not be disappointed as long as you can tolerate some exertion. It may take 10 or 15 strokes just to pressurize the pump's hose before air opens the check valve into your guns reservoir, there is no way around this, just accept it.

    What others should know:

You definitely want to wipe a thin film of the included silicone grease on the outside of the main shaft on a regular basis. This can be done by simply raising the pump handle without disassembly. I also put two or three drops of Crosman pellgun oil inside the fill probe at the gun each time I pump to help keep the check valve lubed. It helps to take your time for each stroke when pumping and fully retract the pump handle on each stroke. I like this pump so much that I bought a second one as a backup. I do not believe that the small air compressor market has matured enough to trust them. This pump, in comparison, is much less expensive than an electric compressor. It will require some effort to pump and you will get some exercise out of it. You will have to put a significant amount of your body weight on your arms and wrists at the highest pressures. Staggering your feet with one foot on the base and the other one away and rotating your torso at the hips to help make pumping easier.

    Things I liked:

Pump work amazingly well for a Gamo Urban. The air chamber on the gun is relatively small requiring a small amount of pumping to get it back up to full shooting power. This is an excellent fit for this setup.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing at all!

    What others should know:

The air-fill probe that comes with the gun will screw directly into the pumps hose allowing for a simple, airtight connection. However... the purchase of the quick-release air venturi fitting allows the silicone part to be removed from the end of the hose for safe-keeping, thus not contaminating the probe. A little more money, but worth the expense.

    Things I liked:

nice smooth, seems like a high quality item, comes with silicon grease. and orings for a rebuild very nice....my first pump was an airforce pump and it got really hard to pump around the 170-200 bar's.....second pump was a cheap china pump, it was very hard and gritty to use, and towards 200 bars required a ton of force to pump, both in the upstroke and down stroke.....this one keeps on trucking to 300 bars, i havent tried a full 300 bars, but my rifles take 250 bars and i dont find it too hard to get there...the upstroke remains easy, and the downstroke where the magic happens is smooth and solid i like that i can get 100+ pumps in before it gets too warm...my previous pumps i had to stop around the 50-80 pumps

    Things I would have changed:

they give the pump a big aluminum block at the bottom great for disapating heat and getting moisture to condensate on, on the inside....but then they cover the block with the plastic feet....you might as well put a blanket over it ! its clear it was done in an attempt to increase profit. not only does the plastic trap heat, it also flexes a little bit, so on every downstroke your gonna scratch the surface on which you stand. give it metal feet the grips are too coarse

    What others should know:

as any good parent, i have tried to get the kids to pump my rifles up :-)....but my 10yo can not push the plunger down past 200 bars, even when putting all his body weight on the pump when pump get more than lukewarm, its time to take a break, internal temps will be much higher and wear to the orings increase exponentially
