Smooth cocking lever, nice finish, Gen 2 Avenger from Air Venturi with a thread on/off barrel should instead of a grub screw at the base of the shroud securing it to the receiver. Haven't shot it yet (see BIIIIIG Negative below), can't speak to its precision, but I will give it a 5 star just because I'm not picky about this and everybody else says it's very very accurate.
Things I would have changed:Air Venturi / Pyramyd Air freaking super glued/epoxied the barrel cap to the barrel shroud!!! Yes, some genius at Air Venturi, or Pyramyd Air epoxied the barrel cap to the barrel shroud, meaning that I cannot remove it to expose the threads, and cannot use the Donny FL suppressor prepared for it, and certainly cannot fit the Avenger suppressor adapter sold by Pyramyd Air just for the Avenger. I don't know WHAT THE FAQ the engineers at Air Venturi / Pyramyd Air was thinking, why the freaking *&$# would they super glue / epoxy the barrel cap to the barrel shroud? They just freaking ruined the gun's capability to attach anything to the end of the barrel. Why?? What the #*$&
What others should know:If you want to attach a suppressor of any kind, Donny FL, etc,.... DO NOT BUY FROM Pyramyd Air's Avengers, they ship out versions with epoxied/super glued barrel caps (I haven't figured out which one yet as I haven't been able to DREMEL the barrel cap off the of shroud yet :( , yeah, dremel.)
Air Venturi/ Pyramyd Air, what the *#$!

A great air rifle. Took awhile to get it accurate. Can cover 10 shot group with a penny at 25 yards. With a little more work should be able keep a dime size group.
Things I would have changed:Wouldn't change anything.

First pcp and very happy
Things I would have changed:Everything is as advertised, wish I would have held out for the wood.
What others should know:I was on the fence about these, but very please after receiving mine. Installed bipod, scope and donneyfl, dialed it in and superb rifle on all accounts.
My only regret is not getting the wood, but bought this on sale $120 cheaper than the wood, will be upgrading when stock is in stock.
If you are looking and still wondering, go ahead and buy it.

Just unboxed this. In the past month, I've purchased 3 "low end" PCP rifles, 2 in .22 and one in .25. To enumerate, a Umerex Origin in .22, a Umarex Gauntlet V1 in .25, and the Avenger. In my mind, the least expensive (the Origin) is the best. It hits hard and accurately, and if you tweak it correctly you won't miss a regulator, The stock on this is a real disappointment. In general, I prefer a synthetic stock, as the life of an air rifle can be a bit rough and tumble. But this one just feels cheap and flimsy. I like the components. The action is very smooth, and it is certainly feature laden for a rifle at this price point.
Things I would have changed:The stock. I can see it breaking in the cold. It doesn't take too much effort to provide a proper synthetic stock. My Walther Parrus has a stock that will pound fence posts.
What others should know:If you are looking at this rifle, also give the Umarex Origin a long look. Same nice cocking system, and a very nice gun. The stock is worlds better.

pretty much everything.
Things I would have changed:Pretty much the only. thing i didn't like is the bolt handle. I wish the bolt handle spun, so follow up shots would be a little faster and smoother. other than that though, its a great gun.

Easy to tune. Shot count is spectacular...remember this thing only has a 180cc capacity. Accuracy is fairly impressive when tuned. I just wish I could take it out on a day without wind or indoor range.
Things I would have changed:The stock magazines are JUNK, but the single shot tray is a beauty. Should have purchased the wood stock version. Not a fan of wood in general, but really thought this one looked cheap. The gun creaks and flexes and I have NO DOUBT accuracy could be improved with the wooden stock. Put a darn bottle on it! I know that would bring its own problems, but even 250cc would be welcome. It should come with a moderator adaptor. This thing is quite a bit louder than you think and it does help with accuracy. Really hard to knock this thing for the money. It's now $50 off from what I thought was a pretty darn great price!
What others should know:Take some time and tune it. It will do wonders for accuracy and shot count. You're not dealing with much air storage here and you WILL be putting the rounds through this thing. Before you complain about accuracy, toss in the single shot tray. I don't even mess with the mags anymore. Get the Donnyfl adapter RIGHT AWAY. I recommend the Tanto moderator as well, I tried it and was impressed. Did a bunch of research and went with the 0db instead, and wish I wouldn't have. Just not as quiet, but it does look better IMO. I've put several thousands of rounds through this gun and have found it very reliable.

Accuracy was good in most samples. The weight is a plus for hunting. The trigger is good but better on some of the samples. The price is good if one gets a good sample.
Things I would have changed:What should we expect from the Air Venturi Avenger? I have experience with five different Avengers in .22. One had a POI change that was erratic and unpredictable. Nothing seemed to work to correct the problem. The group would unpredictably jump three inches to the left but without changing the scope setting and after several shots the group would shift to the original POI. Strange behavior that I could not correct. Another of the five had a barrel that shot so low and right that I did not have enough scope adjustment. Scope shimming was not an option due to stressing the scope tube. Numbers three, four and five had regulator leaks. Those Avengers were the new baffle models that leaked 200 PSI in seven minutes and increased to 600 and 800 PSI over night. Is there a manufacturers defect in the new baffle models? Since the Avengers are a budget model and defects should be expected however all five in my experience were beyond tolerable defects.
What others should know:Beware of regulator creep. Some samples leaked and some did not. Be mindful of POI shifts. One sample had extreme POI shift and the others did not. Barrel droop can be a problem. One sample had extreme barrel droop and one could be fixed by shims under the scope rings.

Extremely accurate! I wasn't expecting this kind of accuracy from a gun at this price point. Not pellet finicky at all. It shot 7 out 9 types of ammo I tried very accurately. Comes with a built-in suppressor of sorts. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 for quietness. I did buy a Donny FL threaded adapter & 0dB 110c suppressor for it and it quieted it down to a 1 out of 5 for comparison. Feels like a real rifle, or maybe a O&U 20ga shotgun. The trigger is good for a gun in this price range. It is not a competition trigger, but it is definitely better than a lot of triggers I have tried out. It breaks at 2.25lbs which is fine for hunting which is what I do. The gun seems very weather resistant as all parts are anodized/painted or plastic. I do use it in the wet mist/rain while hunting rabbits and pests and it does get wet. It cleans up easily. A wooden stock might warp here, although I do like the wooden version, I have the plastic one.
Things I would have changed:Plastic Stock is flimsy. If rain isn't an issue for $70 more a wooden option is available but may warp in the wet. Would be nice to see an Over-mold version, maybe an aftermarket "Hogue" style stock. Older reviews state the trigger is metal but mine is plastic. I would prefer the metal one. The trigger is a bit sloppy too and there is no way to tighten it. But it is not bad, just not a competition trigger. Reg. Creep: Mine had 600psi creep (40fps POI shift) before I cleaned up the regulator and cleaned out the port it sits in. Now it only has a 200psi creep (15fps POI shift). A built-in threaded adapter for a suppressor and built-in barrel stabilizer like the Donny FL threaded adapter would be great. This gun does not like to have the barrel floated. Pellet mags are cheaply made. I got 2 flyers in 10 with the mags. only 1 in 20 from the single shot tray. I ordered 2 CARM mags and now get the same results as the single shot tray.
What others should know:Using JSBHades 22 the accuracy out of the box was avg=0.41" @25yrd.
My final Reg. and H.S. setting are: Reg. @ 2000psi; H.S. @ 1.25 turn; Pellet Velocity = 904fps; Shot count 4000psi-2000psi = 79 shots.
After tuning, adjusting, adding accessories and 500+ shots later the accuracy results are: Now avg=0.26 (Best accuracy = 0.21) [Pictures posted]
This gun is barrel heavy. Pull the Styrofoam in the but of the stock and fill it with packed Barley. It adds a 1.5lbs and it balanced out nicely and reduces the harmonics.
I Use a 40yrd zero w/ a 3-12x 44mm Minute of Angle cross-hair scope at 2 to the bore. This gives a 14yrd to 44yrd +/- 0.3 vital zone.
I definitely recommend this gun. It has its limitations, but for the money I believe they are acceptable. I wouldn't call it a knock around gun, while well built, it doesn't seem like it can take a lot of abuse. But I wouldn't knock around an Impact either. Just treat it with respect and it should give plenty of fun down range.

I like the gun. I have not had the time to really put it through its paces, but from what I have done with it, after putting a scope on it, it shoots extremely accurately. As I began sighting in the gun, I made a few adjustments and then hit a bulls eye at about 50 yards, and honestly didn't believe it. So I adjusted a bit high and again hit right where I aimed. I shot again and again it was right on. Then I switched to a 70 yard target, and my next three shots were covered by a dime. So far an extremely accurate gun. The synthetic stock is light, and easy to carry. I have not had it pumped to its maximum yet, only going about 3000 psi, but I'm happy with the gun.
Things I would have changed:I wish it had or at least had a place for swivels. There are holes in the top of the stock and the bottom but they are not the correct diameter and even if you could add the swivel, there is not room for it to attach. I may make my own modifications later.

The gun does very well right out of the box. I tuned it down to shoot 16gn pellets at 880fps. Gives me over a hundred shots per fill which I do with a hand pump (yes up to 300 bar). Will shoot the hades and the 15.89 in one hole at 50 yards in calm conditions. POI shifts occurs commonly and involuntary, due to barrel not being attached strongly and can be fixed with the Donnyfl adapter. The stock is cheap and does not fit well, loose. I am planning to make my own wood stock but for those who can spare the buck get the wood stock one.
Things I would have changed:Better attachment of the barrel to the gun and the gun to the stock. Trigger is good but has a tad of mush-acceptable for price point. Again, the stock leaves a bit to be desired.
What others should know:Optisan HX is a great scope pairing and costs only $100 making it a good match price wise too. Great glass and good tracking and AO ranging. IMO the best gun on the market in the price category.

Even though I have mounted a sight or scope yet just (as I tell my kids, ) use the force it was pretty accurat out to some long distance. Easy to use, easy to adjust pressures and fun to shoot! Biggest problem is you just got to get alot of ammo because you are going to enjoy shooting it so much you will run out. This is a Great Value for the price, I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Things I would have changed:I can't think of anything that I would change on it

I like everything about this gun. It is light, accurate, has a single shot tray, a side cocking lever that is smooth and easy, lots of shots per fill, adjustable regulator, adjustable trigger and is easy on the wallet. I put 2300psi in and shoot to 1200psi. My scuba tank filled to 3000 psi will fill it probably 20 times. Ive tried about 8 or 9 different types of pellets and it shoots JSB Pellets the best. I weigh my pellets and separate them to get the best accuracy.
Things I would have changed:Dont know. Ive shot this gun about 1000 times and love it.
What others should know:I hate to purchase a Chinese gun but this one is a winner.

What's not to like about this gun. First of all its accurate. I have only put a few hundred rounds through mine so far but it is definitely accurate enough to get the job done. Its very light weight which felt a little strange fresh out the box but that weight seemed to balance out well after I put a scope on it. The side lever is great and the trigger pull was just right for me as is. Its regulated which is great for consistent shots and easy to tune. My Avenger is a Pyramyd Air refurb so I dont know if there has been any tuning done before I received it but I did not see a need to tinker with it since it shoots great so far. You really cant beat the overall value of this gun for the money.
Things I would have changed:I could say that the stock being hollow can be an issue for some people but its one that is easily overcome, at least for me. I assume that you cant make a gun this good, at this price point without cutting a few corners. I think the biggest thing I would change is to add some baffles to quiet it down since it is a bit loud and there is room in the shroud for some.
What others should know:I am not exactly sure where the dividing line is that makes an airgun hand pump friendly or not so I will just put it this way. If you dont mind a good workout and you are patient, then it is. I use a hand pump and I will get it to 300 bar but it's in no way easy. I know that for some people purchasing a refurb would be a complete no no. This is my third refurb purchase from Pyramyd Air and I have not had an issue with any of them so far. I buy the ten for ten even though I know that Pyramyd Air is pretty thorough with the refurbs they sell but for peace of mind its worth it.
