Is the gun good? Yes
Does the motor preform as advertised? Yes
Is it accurate? Depends. With my personal red dot, yes it was very accurate at 10 to 15 yards. However, the iron sights advertised on the box and on YouTube did not come with the gun. Despite being brand new out of the box, QC failed to check if the correct iron sights were placed on the gun. Pictures of the iron sights I received will be included. Despite looking like fiber optic, they are not. They do not capture light despite being translucent in appearance.
To anyone reading this review, you MUST BUY FOOD GRADE Silicone Lube for this gun to work properly. I personally used Super Lube Spray from ACE Hardware to free a stuck magazine release, smoother disassemble of the upper and lower to clear jams, stuck plunger on the BB feeding tube, smoother magazine insertion, less abrasion on the magazine and mag-well. Not using lubrication will ruin the finish of your magazines.
This gun is as dry as a mummy out of the box, so don't ruin your finish by rushing to fire it before lubricating it.
Unlike the YouTube reviews, I needed a plastic or brass punch and an armorer's hammer to remove the front retaining pin for separating the upper and lower for cleaning and inspection of the barrel.
The charging handle appears to do nothing. Also, it does not fully close once it has been pulled back and released. I have to forward assist the charging handle itself since there is no bolt to help it close.
The bolt release on the side is strictly for appearances. It does absolutely nothing and swings freely without any spring tension creating an unnecessary rattle.
The selector switch feels great!
I actually like the trigger on this more than on a real mil-spec AR. I prefer 2-stage triggers over single stage triggers, and Barra's triggers rock! You guys should think about making triggers for the 5.56 caliber rifles.
I was disappointed that all of it was made in Taiwan. It's very expensive for being an overseas build. If you guys could partner up with Magpul and Midwest Industries to get some Made in America parts thrown on there it would be far more worth the price.
Thank you very much for including a GEN 2 BB mag loader with my purchase. The metal plunger really made the difference.
Lithium Polymer batteries require constant supervision. They cannot be stored fully charged and ready to go. So if you bought this to scare dear away from your garden or prevent mice from chewing up your house wires, it will not be time efficient since it needs a fully balanced charge over all 3 cells to perform safely. Then it must be de-charged for storage. The balance charger that Barra offers doesn't provide a de-charging function. You'll have to research what de-charge method will work best for your situation.
Overall, I like the gun enough that I don't want to return it. It is extremely fun, but it needs improvements.

This thing is amazing, forget about the looks and feel that just perfect all around, it shoots consistent each and every shot.

I have it for two weeks and is amazing how easy to use and how many shoots you get for one battery. You shoot so much that you get tired of shoot hahahaha. No problem with ANYTHING including the reload piece. I use steel bbs, NO COPPER. I recommended 500%

Nothing really....except maybe offer a decent Red Dot scope as part of the package deal. I'd have bought it!

Buy a generous qty. of extra batteries and magazines!

I just bought my 400e, added an inexpensive 4X scope (81 year old eyes), and a bipod mount. What fun! The gun is very accurate and the Gen. 2 BB loader works like a charm. I know some folks balk at the price, but you really do get what you pay for. Buy one…you won’t regret it.

I got the black and tan model when these first came out. It's by far my favorite for both, distance and close up.

Bought this for my wife to train. It feels the same weight as my AR-15, without the kick or sound. Speed loader is something to get use too however still enjoyable. Highly recommend this weapon to keep skills sharp for a fraction of the cost. Also great for turning away predators from your small livestock without killing .

This BB gun is high quality great feel love the weight.one drawback is the care you need to give to Lipo batteries this is nothing against Barra just what it takes for these batteries.

This thing is fun.....super fun. I was a little off put at first. A battery powered bb gun not to thrilling. I was wrong this thing is amazing. So far not found one issue. It's a great show piece and even more of a blast to shoot!

Real deal electric air gun, love it works great, speed loader works too. Very accurate with provided sights. Get more mags.

Love the packaging well protect shoot many rounds through the gun and I always have a blast shooting it. It feels like I am holding the real thing also can put real attachments on the weapon to make it custom for your style. I will highly recommend

Great air rifle. Well built, great weight and feel. Awesome product all around.

The look, feel and function of the gun exceeded my expectations, however I still can’t believe that it does not come with a battery and charger. The sites that come with it do not match the quality of the gun and broke after only a few uses.

So far has a good tight feel to it, I would have given it 5 stars but for the price they should have thrown in a battery and charger !!

The 400e is an awesome rifle to target practice or have fun. It is really accurate even with the factory sights. My rifle is shooting at 392fps average in 35 degree weather.
