Things I liked:

I happen to have an earliar model 2100 from around 1997 this gun is awesome tons of power and very accurate up to 25yds. I chronied with alot of pellets the best velocity were skencos @ 820fps desrtroyers and most 7.9 grain pellets average at 700-720fps @ 10 pumps. bbs are in the high 700s as well.5 pumps are 535fps on avg.love this gun

Things I would have changed:

Wood stock and forearm. but the plastic is fine looks decent. Make the new 2100s like the way this one was made.

What others should know:

Mesisterkugeln, desroyers, gamo rockets, skenco orange all do great with this gun. Gamo pellets other than mentioned are trash in this gun. This 2100 must have better valve/piston possibly brass flat top.I have the standard gamo 4x32 scope and im happy with it.

Things I liked:

Easy loading. Very well built. That's it!

Things I would have changed:

Cocking is very hard. Leaves you thinking that it must be building up a lot of air but it's not! Very little power.

What others should know:

Hope all of you read this before throwing your money away like I did! I have the 2100. I have had the Benjamin 392. Remington air master no different. Stay away from crosman!!!!! Daisy is what you want..... Period! Get the daisy 880 and 901!!!!! Both are made from cheaper feeling materials and yet they out perform even the much more expensive Benjamin 392-397. Daisy's power and accuracy will blow your mind!

    Things I liked:

Feels like a classic Pellet gun from the 90s. Metal trigger and action housing, plastic stock and forearm. Solid metal Dovetail mounts, no flimsy two piece plastic being clamped together. I sighted this gun in with Wadcutters at 10 yards for shooting English Sparrows. Using a Winchester 4x AO Scope, I was able to put 3 in the same hole once it was sighted in. The trigger pull is long, but smooth. I then moved the target out to 25 yards and found it shooting 2 inches high using GREEN Barracudas(Lead Free, Tin/Zinc). I adjusted the scope, and was able to kill the target once at 25 yards standing. It was putting them exactly where the cross hairs were when the trigger released. This gun is accurate! I then moved the target back to 10 yards, sparrow range. The gun put 3 GREEN Baracudas in the same hole, one inch low at 10 yards. GAME ON!

    Things I would have changed:

The pellet loading area is too deep for my liking. They could have made this area more open or fatter for the average pinky to flip a pellet over. You have to flip the gun and jimmy the action to flip a pellet over.

    What others should know:

It's harder to pump than I hoped. I got this for my parents to shoot. My mom could only get to 3 pumps, but this will help her build some muscle....Dad said 8 pumps were no problem. I was doing all of my shooting with only 5 pumps. I pumped it up to 12 and shot the GREEN Baracudas(~5.5 grains). This gun has been shown to be 700+ FPS and it was definitely quicker than my 1300KT full mod 14.6".

    Things I liked:

The weight is a pleasant surprise. It's not at all heavy, but it feels much more like a real rifle than any of my other inexpensive .177 pumpers (Crosman 1000, Winchester 1977XS, Barra Sportsman 900, Umarex APX NXG, Daisy 880 and Umarex Strike Point), due primarily to the use of metal pretty much everywhere but the forearm pumper & buttstock. Even the trigger is metal! When it comes right down to it, I prefer this MUCH more than the 'new and improved' Crosman 1000 Legacy. Basically, they're very nearly the exact same rifle, with the major differences being the side-loading port -- the one here is excellent, but the one on the 1000 is awkwardly awful -- and the high quality synthetic materials used almost everywhere on the 1000 Legacy, replaced mostly with metal on the 2100. Both are excellent, inexpensive and accurate air rifles, but the 2100 just seems to me so much nicer than its newer cousin. Great shooting air rifle!

    Things I would have changed:

Why 12 pumps? Every pump on this otherwise sweet air rifle (or its newer cousin) is tougher than those required for its competitors (see above) and more are necessary (12 instead of 10) to reach full power. With lead pellets, the Crosman shoots no harder than the competition, yet it needs more pumps to do it! This tougher pumping at all power levels and those extra two pumps necessary to reach max power serve no useful purpose: it makes no sense. Still, the pumping isn't exactly hard; it's just harder than the effort necessary to charge the others, with the possible exception of the .177 caliber Umarex Strike Point, which can be a bear to power-up past pumps three or four. The 'adjustable' rear sight (same as Legacy 1000) is not nearly as nice as those used on the others, either -- adjusting for windage is MUCH more difficult with these sights, although it can be an extremely easy-to-aim and accurate shooter once it is properly adjusted. I wish it was all black. :-)

    What others should know:

While I prefer the all-black color scheme and all-weather synthetic material used on the Legacy 1000 (and would love to see this rifle in all black with the same material on the pumper arm and buttstock), everything else about the 2100, especially its widespread use of metal, excellent side-loading port and extra heft, gives me a much stronger impression of overall quality. I prefer my 2100 Classic to the 'improved' Legacy 1000 by a long shot! It's inexpensive, highly accurate with a properly adjusted rear sight, has a nice weight & feel and the handling is great. It's comparable in performance to most of the other .177 caliber variable pump pneumatic air rifles under $100.00 and would be perfect for pretty much any and all airgun enthusiasts, from mature yet inexperienced younglings to grizzled veteran adults and everyone in between. WELL worth the cost.

    Things I liked:

i'll try yo keep it simple; price & weight; just need to shoot it more, & with different pellets to see who's the happiest

    Things I would have changed:

easier load for "port-siders"; add something of a support for pumping-with scope- afraid i might break off stock; eliminate "bb"

    What others should know:

kid pushing 76, after 5 pumps it gets stiff; did put drop of crosman oil on piston

    Things I liked:

Good power. Accurate. Easy to pump.

    Things I would have changed:

The bolt action is horrible. The spring is way too stiff, BBs often don't load from the magazine, and when the finally do load, I get 2 or 3 in the chamber. Maybe just this one is a lemon, but it's going back to Pyramid.

    Things I liked:

Worked perfectly right from the box. Metal receiver seems like it will last a long time. Love the accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

The cocking lever is a bit rough on the finger after multiple shooting. I'll probably wrap with tape to help pad my finger.

    What others should know:

If you're looking for a lot of gun for a little price, this one is hard to beat.

    Things I liked:

The geometry of the gun is VG for adults. LOP perfect / Eye Relief for my UTG 3-9x 32 scope perfect / cheek weld perfect / overall balance just right. The trigger (after 500 shots break in) is one long smooth pull. Probably 4-5 lbs. The gun started to get decent 1" groups at 10 meters after 500 shots. I will not be using the BB feature - do not want to damage the rifling needed for decent pellet performance. 4 pumps are sufficient for good groups at 10 m. 8 pumps good for 1 to 1.5" at 20 yards. A lot of fun for $69.

    Things I would have changed:

This is an inexpensive air gun and the stock and forearm feel cheap. If some sort of hardening foam could be injected into the butt stock the cheap hollow sound would go away. Or perhaps use a higher quality firearm polymer. For me the BB capability should be dropped and the savings spent on a more substantial butt stock. The cocking mechanism is pretty stiff but is getting better and the loading of pellets is a bit tricky until you find "the right way" that works for you. You must "roll" the pellets in - can't just drop them into breech.

    What others should know:

Clean the barrel with a cleaner suitable for air guns. I use Ballistol. Oil the pump cup with Pellgun Oil or other non detergent non petroleum product. Use regular gun oil of the pump mechanism's 3 pivot points. Do this oiling every 250 or so shots and tighten all screws at same time. I am using Crosman 7.9 g. HP Pellets for targets and spinners. They are great. 10 g or heavier 177's should be used for pest control with at least 8 pumps. 10 preferred.

Powerful, accurate rifle- definitely worth the money. I bought this gun back in 1986, and it still works great. Thirty four years, and not a single problem. The scope is not the best, but this gun is still worth getting.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing at all

    What others should know:

Though it can shoot both BBs AND pellets, stick to pellets because of the rifled barrel- BBs will wear down the grooves and eventually compromise accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

Design with better tighter tolerances things I changed is adding Potters sand in the butt stock for weight and stability

    What others should know:

I wouldn't hesitate to use an 880 Daisy very accurate did the same to the buttstock added Potter sand. it is pellet fussy

Purchased this rifle way back in 1986- one of the best, most accurate rifles I ever had. Only cost me about fifty bucks back then- loved its power and accuracy. I sold it to a friend back in 2007- now wish I hadnt.

    Things I would have changed:

Would not change anything, really. Rifle was a lot of fun to own, and I may buy it again, thats how much I loved it

    What others should know:

Only use pellets- I almost lost an eye due to an errant fire using BBs- shot went way off course, hit a concrete wall, and ricocheted right back at me- learned that moment on to wear eye protection

    Things I liked:

Was fun to use while it worked

    Things I would have changed:

On the fifth time brining the gun out of its box, the rivet that held the pump handle to the pump lever started to come out.I had to keep pushing it back into the hole to keep using the gun. However, one time it came out too far and it was quite a pain to get it back in correctly. Would have been nice if the company used bolts instead of cheap rivets. At least a higher quality rivet would have been nice.

    What others should know:

Don't buy this if you're in a state where air guns must be shipped to a licensed gun dealer (like NJ) in order to receive it. If so, you'll find it really isn't worth sending it back to be fixed. Sights had to be realigned when we received the gun.

    Things I liked:

Very lightweight, Easy to operate pump pellet gun , very accurate when you find the correct pellet that the gun likes. This gun is a great deal for 69.95 , I like that the gun has a metal receiver instead of plastic. The Crosman 2100 has a great following, like it so much I bought two of them , one new and one refurbished.

    Things I would have changed:

Make a wood stock version and a .22 model

    What others should know:

Bolt operation is very stiff at first but will loosen up with time.

    Things I liked:

Great rifle and pretty much as I remember it back in the early 80s. I had an early production rifle in 82' or 83', and other than the newer stock texture (I remember it being checkered) it is exactly the same. Some reviews state that it used to have a wood stock, all metal, etc., yet since I had one of the first production ones, I don't ever remember such features. Supper accurate with or without a scope. I put an old blurry out of focus 4x15 on after sighting in iron sights and it hardly increased accuracy because it was already so accurate with iron sights to begin with. Pumping is pretty easy given that it is a pump action air gun. After 150 pellets or so it has still remained tight with the pump handle and all parts still aligned up, no twisted pump levers and such. I like it.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger...Trigger...Trigger is horrendous. I assume it is a safety feature given the youngsters that use it the most. I did take mine apart and polish the sear and engagement faces up some, afterwards it was much smoother, yet still a beast. 1 Star on the trigger, and 4 stars overall because of it.

    What others should know:

As others have commented, drop the barrel downward and then drop the pellet in head first to get the best results out of loading pellets. Also, based on size of the rifle and range potential, I'd stick with a small 4 x 15 or no scope at all, over a larger 1in or 30mm scope. As expected, it shoots Crossman pellets the best, particularly the 7.9 grain hollow points. I tried the Crossman 7.3 pointed and heavier 11.3 grain pellets, yet the 7.9s proved the most accurate by a long shot. I tried about 4 other brands / types and once again came back to the Crossman pellets as the best.

    Things I would have changed:

make it easy to load pellets maybe foam fill the stock to eliminate the hollow sound I will try it myself after the warranty expires.

The gun has a great feel to it. Very attractive and accurate. It shoots hard and is light weight. The fiber optic sights work well

    Things I would have changed:

The gun is hard to load pellets. Crosman should change the receiver to accept a clip, like the 760. They do away with the bb port and add the new air valve for the newer legacy 1000

    Things I liked:

Style, power, accuracy and weight. This rifle is so much fun and when you have two things can get quite interesting with some home competition.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing I would change would be to drop the ability to shoot BB's, the reason being is steel BB's will chew up the rifling in a very short time making this awesome rifle very inaccurate even when using pellets.

    What others should know:

This is one of the best built and most accurate multi pump rifles on the market, it's the little brother to the crosman 766 which came out in the mid 70's. I bought a mdl 2100 back in 97 cause rabbits and other vermin were destroying my garden, later it became my go to small game airgun with which I took out many rabbits, dove, quail, squirrels and rattlesnakes. With practice one can be very accurate with this rifle, I ran it out to 60 yrds shooting 100 watt lightbulds and clay pigeons and up to 30 to 40 yrds for confident shots. After running several thousand rounds through it the front seal gave out, dropped in a new one and kept going. If anyone is looking for an excellent multi pump then this rifle is my recommendation.

quality gun for a sub 70 dollar price tag, pretty darn accurate too! nice solid feeling with an adult size stock.

    Things I would have changed:

i think the engineers at crosman should figure out a more user friendly system for loading pellets into the chamber. its tricky to get pellets to drop in facing the proper direction.

    What others should know:

I'm not using this rifle as a BB gun, pellets only
