    Things I liked:

EVERYTHING. . . . .cost, accuracy, power, weight, trigger, wood, break action, scopeable, did I mention ACCURACY? . . . . GET THIS RIFLE. . !

    Things I would have changed:

    NOTHING. . . . . . GET THIS RIFLE

    What others should know:

All shooters, rifles, pellets re different. What works for one may not for another. I've been at this for going on 2 years. By no means an expert. Have quite an assortment of rifles .177 & .22. Mostly gas pistons, especially the most recent including this one. Have this one in the .177 also, (btw...the .177 is why I bought the .22). Untouchable accuracy, power and ease of use. Wanted to experience the .22 and this rifle is OFF THE CHARTS. Accuracy in the 20-40 yd range is in the best I've experienced. (no desire to shoot at anything the length of a football field). Pellet choice 19-22gr. . .tried at least 10 different offerings. So far, H&N SPORT BARACUDA HUNTER EXTREME 19.09 gr is the preference. Added a 3-12x50 scope and low rise dovetail to weaver scope mount to wrap it up. . . . . Speaking from experience, this Vantage is better than many rifles costing 3x more. PA has everything you need to enjoy this sport. . . .GET THIS RIFLE !

    Things I liked:

For the money you just can't beat it. It has good power, is accurate, and although the trigger isn't a target trigger, for plinking and varmint/hunting it is adaquate. It has a good heft, which softens the felt recoil a bit, good hunting sights, is all wooden stock, so whats not to like?

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, it is an excellent value for the money.

    What others should know:

Although there have been a few reviews about the sights, it only took 5 shots to zero mine in. Luck of the draw as with anything you buy. A good platform to upgrade, as it is extreamly easy to upgrade, with out a large initial expendurature. It does take a bit to cock, but experiment with it and find a method that works for you. It's not too loud.I have enjoyed shooting it so far.

    Things I liked:

Quiet, fun to shoot, easy to modify, accurate!

    Things I would have changed:

Make the trigger pull less from the factory

    What others should know:

This is a really great gun. I fitted it with a Hammers 40mm A.O. 3-16 scope. I can hit quarters at 30 yards no problem at all. One shot in the head to take down squirrels. I found the Crosman Premier field hunting pellets (.22) to be the more accurate then the Crosman hollow points. I have this rifle, a game big cat and a Hatsan .22. This is my go to now for target and backyard hunting because of its noise level. It sounds like a nail gun, VERY quiet.

Great for the price, much better than I was expecting. Really durable and reliable so far.

    Things I would have changed:

    Lower resting sights for scopes

    What others should know:

The trigger is a bit longer pull but after using it, it wasn't too hard to get used to. The cocking also got much easier once the rifle was broken in. Really hard to beat the quality I got for the price

    Things I liked:

The 18.5 inch barrel instead of a shorter barrel with a sound modifier, the adjustable sights, smaller red dots on the rear sight. the smoothness of it cocking, no spring torque when firing, you can hold it snug and get excellent groups, the solid heft of a hard wood and the rubber butt pad.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger has a lot of pre-stage travel till it engages the sear and also has it's own return spring along with the return spring of the sear. They are two pieces, which causes the trigger to be heavy. Ease up on the tension of the return spring for the trigger itself. The adjustable trigger screw is too short to really do much.

    What others should know:

I removed the return spring for the trigger itself and replaced the trigger adjust screw with a longer screw which lets me really adjust the trigger travel to "fire" the gun. Do not adjust too much as the nitro piston will not latch when you cock it. If that happens, back off the adjustment till it cocks and latches with a safe amount of sear engagement. This is airgun is the best deal money can buy for a Nitro Piston air gun. The tighter I hold it, the better (harder) it shoots as tested on a chronograph. Shooting 750 fps with 14.3 grn. Crosman hollow point pellets. It took less than 100 pellets till the gun was shooting less than 2 inch groups at 20 yards, open sights. The barrel needs to be cleaned of all grease and oil prior to shooting the first time to get the velocity up to speed as the piston breaks in. This gun is quieter than my buddies spring gun with an integral, all metal suppressor.

    Things I liked:

Nice wooden stock, price, open sights, powerful, easy to load, trigger didn't bother me.

    Things I would have changed:

More quality control testing. Crosman should recommend a heavier pellet like JSB 15.89's.

    What others should know:

I wouldn't use Crosman or Benjamin 14.3's in this rifle. They are just too light for a rifle with this much power. A pellet around 16 grain would work better. Mine shot way to the right with CP's even after adjusting windage all the way left to compensate. All the squirrels were laughing at me. I'm going to spend more money next time. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned

    Things I liked:

Just what I was looking for. Nice balance -- feels like my .22 rimfire -- even down to the recoil. Five shots to adjust the sights and then 5 in the 1" bull at about 35'. I didn't try a scope on it yet -- I like the open sights and will probably continue to use them. Trigger pull was good. I may adjust it a little more later on. I really like this gun. It will be my plinker and small game gun from now on.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    Things I liked:

Really solid feel and smooth operation. Fit and finish is surprisingly good at this price level. The nitro piston is a big upgrade over springers, yet this gun costs less than virtually all the spring-powered rifles. Easy to cock, but plenty powerful; very little jump/spring recoil. Tremendous value! Open sights are very good and easy to dial in, accuracy is great, and velocities are incredibly consistent over the chronograph. I got 735 fps with cheap 14.7 grain pellets (Daisy pointed .22s) with essentially no variation (less than 3 fps SD), and that was before any break-in! Very effective against even the largest squirrels (and we have some really big ones.)

    Things I would have changed:

As many have noted, the trigger could use improvement, though it's really not bad at all for hunting; try a longer screw to lighten it up. It would also be nice to have steel rather than plastic sights, but they do seem pretty sturdy, and the fiber optics light up nicely.

    What others should know:

This is the best value in a backyard squirrel rifle that I can possibly imagine.

    What others should know:

A quality budget air rifle. It's heavy.

    Things I liked:

Pretty accurate right out of box, break in period is not long.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger, of course, but there are many DIY fixes. It's "OK" and the only annoying thing about it is that the break on the trigger is sometimes mysterious. Sometimes it seems to break at totally different points which can be a little frustrating. My friend is a top level competition shooter, highly ranked and he had the same thoughts.

    What others should know:

Seems to like Benjamin, 14.3gr, round nose HP. I prefer the lighter grain for increased FPS. It's more quiet than i was expecting. I don't like the iron sights too much, they are just ok though others seem to love them, I'd recommend a red dot or x4 power scope. I shot better with a BSA red dot. I was shooting 5 shot groups inside a quarter at 30 feet within my first 40 rounds using a file cabinet as my rest and i'd say i had a flyer about 1 in 10 rounds. LIke i said, pretty accurate right out of box. After another 100 rounds, and a trigger job i expect dime groups at 30-40 ft no problem.

    Things I liked:

Well, I sold my marauder for lack of use. I needed a air rifle that would pop the occasional squirrel or raccoon that was getting in my back porch. This vantage appears to be well built. I have shot it maybe 10 times so it is not broken in yet. The pest shots I will be taking will be rarely over 10 yards so I got the .22 version. I think looking at the reviews for nitro piston gun it will get anywhere from 650-700 fps, this is enough for my intended use. I am a occasional shooter so when the need arises I can grab this and take care of business.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

I had the .25 Marauder and just did not shoot it enough, This vantage should have more than enough power for small game in .22.

    Things I liked:

I liked the weight, styling, and the feel, the handeling. The sights were ok, the trigger was manageable, long pull, but smooth, for the price, I thought, this will work !!!

    Things I would have changed:

The barrel lock up. the tapered spring pin seemed ok, but the round pin that it comes into contact with to lock up, was allowing the barrel to move up and down slightly, changing point of impact. Good group, then fliers. Otherwise I liked the gun.

    What others should know:

Now I have had two of these Vantage guns, same problem with both. It took about 350 to 450 pellets fired over several days, but if you hold the stock where the screws are, and grab the end of the barrel at the sight and push lightly the barrel should not move, mine would wiggle slightly, causing the lock up to change, if I bumped or touched the barrel before shooting.

    Things I liked:

I like the quality of the rifle except for the iron sights and the long, heavy trigger pull.

    Things I would have changed:

Crosman should mount the iron sights on the rifle so they are centered and aligned with the barrel. I tried to adjust these sights from 15 yards and they were so far off that I there was not enough adjustment for windage to set the sights on the bullseye.

    What others should know:

Don't plan on using the iron sights. Add a red dot sight or a rifle scope. I put on a red dot that I was not using. Now it's sighted in and accurate.

    Things I liked:

The Accuracy of this gun is extremely impressive keeping its price and nature in mind. I was able to get a consistent 2-3 inch group at about 50 yards. Being a sub $100 "springer" (that has a nitro piston installed), this is pretty much unheard of, and I'm sure this grouping will close with time and practice.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger...... Its not a secrete that the crosman trigger sucks, however there is a plethora of diy fixes for it, one of which I have done. It worked, and I feel this helped my accuracy tremendously.

    What others should know:

Do not let the price discourage you from purchasing this product. It easily competes with some higher end airguns I own. To my surprise, the best pellet I have tried so far was the Winchester 9.8 grain pellet sold at an incredibly low price. My model did not work well with crossman premier pellets, which was also a surprise. The scope I was using was the leapers UTG 4x32 with the mil dot reticle, which is about as basic as it gets. Overall very impressed with this rifle FOR THE PRICE. I would be equally happy with it if it was sold in the $170-250 range. P.S. don't buy the scope package. It doesn't matter what gun, the "stock" scope will be quite terrible.

    Things I liked:

price and that it is full size. It is accurate and not to bad to cock (but probably not for kids or weak) Plenty of power.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger is not very good. Very long pull and not very crisp. Not much better after 1000 shots. Better sights would be nice but probably not at this price point.

    What others should know:

With practice you can get used to the trigger. Off hand 6 inch targets at 50 yards and squirrel head shots at 25 yards no problem. I am happy with this gun, very good value for money.

I have had this gun a month. Shoot over a 1000 rounds. crossman premier 10.5 gr.works good. H&n Throphy if you want to spend a little moore. Nitro is much easer to keep on target than springer (rws 45)I own.

    Things I would have changed:

    Sling swivels.

    What others should know:

Don't byuy the bundel package. never could get scope tok hold a good group or focus properly. I order the bug buster 6x. I hope it will do better. Love pyramyd air. I just bought the Maraude in.177 with red dot.
