Things I liked:

GREAT German engineering, fit, finish, accuracy & power!

Things I would have changed:

A little heavy . . . But, that actually provides stability in shot-making.

What others should know:

The new stock design is beautiful! I've owned my Diana 54 AirKing .177 for over 6 years and it has provided trouble-free & consistent shooting.

Things I liked:

Extremely accurate gun. I have not shot it much past 30 yards mark, but at 30 yards it's shooting 1/2 inch groups.

Things I would have changed:

The adjustable barrel tip is not secured well enough. The allen screws that tighten the barrel tip to the barrel get loose easily. They require Loctite.

What others should know:

I am shooting 18.1 gr pellets. Average speed is 711.8 fps, which gives you about 20.4 FT-LBS of kinetic energy. I am finding that the speed is below advertised, but KE is at or above advertised rate.

    Things I liked:

Gun is very accurate with the UTG scope 4-16 x 44. Nice 1/2" group at 25 yards. I like the no recoil system. I am satisfied with my purchase, I only had this gun for a month, will see what the future hold.

    Things I would have changed:

The gun slipped off my gun rest and fell about seven inch's and landed on the trigger guard and it broke a piece from adjustment hole to adjustment hole. It turned out to be plastic and I super glued it back. It seems to be ok. But I wish the trigger guard was made of metal. I checked and the replacement cost is around $45.00.

    What others should know:

The gun is well built, don't know why they would put a cheezie plastic trigger guard on it.

    Things I liked:

Very powerful Airgun, also very accurate right of the box. The unique recoil system does remove almost all the recoil normally found in a spring air rifle. I have the .22 caliber. Sighted the rifle with Crosman Premier pellets with no trouble. Then moved the target to 25 yards and fired 10 shots which landed in a group of about three-fourths to thirteen sixteenths of an inch. This was impressive to me. The stock on the rifle is beautiful. The overall fit and finish was excellent. Good trigger pull right out of the box. A bit on the loud side but not unreasonable.

    Things I would have changed:

This Diana 54 Airking Pro is VERY difficult to cock. After sighting it in I had to take a short rest. After 10 more shots that was about it for me. I shot the rifle a few more times at miscellaneous targets and called it a day. My arm was actually sore. I’ve had shoulder rotator cuff surgery one year ago and that began acting up as the shooting session went on. I’m not kidding. This rifle is extremely hard to cock.

    What others should know:

If I could manage it I would quiet the rifle down. It is also a heavy rifle. The action does move in the stock, so it may surprise you the first time it happens. Putting the front sights on was kind of a trick because you can’t easily see where the Allen screw comes out inside the barrel [the sight actually]. You can miss the holding spot on the barrel. You will need a flashlight. The weight on the front of the barrel is easily removed, but the weight itself seems rather light.

    Things I liked:

I like the beech wood stock very much .

    Things I would have changed:

I would add rear stock stud for a sling it has a front already .

    What others should know:

It is heavy , but very accurate .When cocking the side lever make sure you go all the way to bottom the stroke this sets the trigger .

    Things I liked:

Paired with Hawke Airmax 4-12x40. Supremely accurate. I've never owned an airgun with this level of precision. It is absolutely amazing. Almost zero recoil is felt. The sliding receiver really does work. The build quality is impressive, not a single piece of plastic to be found (unless you install the open sight barrel weight, but a gun this accurate should be paired with a scope)

    Things I would have changed:

I prefer the look of the checkering on the older 54's, but still very handsome. I know a lot of people like the red laminate, I like the more traditional look personally.

    What others should know:

The factory grease and oils will diesel you fist few shots, I was surprised to hear the sharp crack of the pellets going supersonic. It settled down fast though. Also, there's significant barrel droop. Invest in the Diana ZR scope mount if you can find it, otherwise and adjustable mount is necessary. Droop is too much to compensate with scope adjustment.

    Things I liked:

This thing is a beast. It is strong and accurate. It is beautifully built of quality craftsmanship. It really can shoot. I shoot mostly 100yds and if I am having a bad day and cant seem to put rounds on target I just get the RWS 54 out and it is no problem. This gun just does not seem to have bad days. I rarely have the fliers from my 54. If your looking for a hard hitting and reliably accurate rifle this is surely one of them.

    Things I would have changed:

I guess if lighter would be better then maybe i would change that. Everything else is just great.

    What others should know:

I dont know about the 48 or 52 but my 54 is recoil less and not hold sensitive which is pretty nice. She is a heavy gun more suited to the bench instead of carrying. It is a fine piece of work.

    Things I liked:

Mine is an older spring version but it is Very well built , powerful and accurate. Not hold sensitive like some springers.

    Things I would have changed:

She is a little heavy but the accuracy makes up for it.

    What others should know:

Its probably not something you will want to carry around and shoot off hand but for shooting from a rest it will not disappoint. Mine can tear up a 2x3 inch target at 104 yards. If i knew how to upload a pic I can show the results.

    Things I liked:

Thanks to the recoiless action and the absolutely wonderful trigger the Diana 54 is a very easy gun to shoot accurately especially for a springer. The gun is not overly hold sensitive as magnum springers can often be. The anti-bear trap cocking mechanism is a great touch, to give us a little peace of mind, and can save our fingers when loading. It's not too difficult to cock so I can sit down and fire off a hundred rounds with no problem at all. Well finished wood and beautifully blued metal make this a decent looking gun as well.

    Things I would have changed:

Put it on a diet but don't add any plastic.

    What others should know:

When you first start using the gun make sure you bring the cocking lever to its most rearward position so the gun will fully cock and release the anti-bear trap mechanism so the action can be closed. I found it takes a little extra effort in the last couple of inches to cock the gun completely. The action will move forward in the stock when it is completely cocked. Pay attention as the trigger pull is remarkably light.

    Things I liked:

I've been using this rifle for about 2 months now, so here is my input: There is no hold sensitivity to worry about. You can hold it just like your favorite centerfire rifle, bench it, lean it against a tree, or death-grip it and get good results. Also, my copy is very accurate and consistent with CPHPs, JSBs Jumbos, and H&N Barracudas. I have not tried any other pellets yet.

    Things I would have changed:

Diana needs to stop sending rifles out with these goofy open sights. The front blade is massive and the rear notch is wobbly. I've sighted down many rifles in my time but these just seem silly. The front blade is as big as, or bigger than a squirrel head at practical ranges. Also, my rifle either a) has a bent/misaligned barrel, or b) the screw taps for the rear sight are out of square, or c) could be a little of both. I had to adjust my rear sight ALL THE WAY to the right to get on target at short range. Alternatively, I twisted the front blade assembly counter-clockwise to get the same effect. Either way, I don't think that should be a thing on a near $700 rifle (this is where I take way a star in my rating above). I didn't send mine back because it's so dang accurate with the scope. I was afraid I'd get sent back another rifle with proper open sights/barrel alignment but not-so-good accuracy/consistency. Maybe they are all that accurate, but I wasn't willing to gamble.

    What others should know:

Even though it's not a break-barrel, mine has the typical barrel droop issue. I had to shim my rear scope ring because I totally ran out of elevation adjustment on my scope. This is common with a lot of air rifles. This is a heavy gun. Mine weighs 12.5 pounds with the scope (UTG 40mm). This means it takes a lot of practice to shoot accurately offhand and is not exactly a light burden to carry through the squirrel woods. Bottom line: This is a very accurate rifle with zero hold sensitivity, but it is a bit heavy and you will likely need to get droop-compensating scope mounts.
