Light weight and easy to handle. Seems well made and a good buy for the money. Scope is solid mounted and works great on this rifle. With only 200 rounds shot so far the accuracy at 25-yards is good but I think will improve as the barrel gets better seasoned.
Things I would have changed:The trigger is a bit rough, has a long pull even after being adjusted and lacks a quality feel to it. Also the trigger is too stiff, requires too much pull, needs to be able to be adjusted. This is a real shame because this rifle could be a solid 5-Star if it had a much better trigger.
What others should know:This is a good buy for a first Break-Over, Multi-Shot rifle purchase.

A pretty good rifle, very accurate, easy to cock, though, for some reason, it tends to jam quite a bit when cocking, about once every 10-20 shots. Im going to keep using it- perhaps more use and it will work out the kinks. Other than that, very satisfied with this gun.
Things I would have changed:A better magazine that does not jam so much- always seems to jam pellet and pinch and deform when cocking

Thought I was ordering the magnum but turned out it was the maxim. Gave it a try and had to have it. Zeroed in about 5 shots and after that it was one thumb sized hole at about 30 yards on the target. First break barrel I've had with a magazine.
Things I would have changed:Maybe a better scope. This one will do for now.
What others should know:Don't know if I would call it backyard friendly. That depends on your backyard.

My first air rifle since the 1980's and it's been a lot of fun. I enjoy shooting it, it feels good in my hands, and it's pretty accurate (of course, I'm still learning to use a scope after 3.5 decades shooting iron sights). It has sufficient accuracy for plinking and sufficient power for pesting. I've shot well over 2000 pellets through it in the year I've owned it. My gun seemed like it took a while to break in (~250 shots), though that could've just been me getting used to it.
Things I would have changed:When cocking the gun, the spring mechanism has jumped off the barrel twice in the last couple of months. In the process, the loading mechanism usually jumps its tracks as well. If it happens more than another time or two, I may send it it to Gamo to make sure nothing's wrong. It's easy to pop it back into place; but I don't want to wear it out. This is my only real concern with the rifle. I know people gripe about the scope; I've not really had much trouble with it, though I would've appreciated dots on the reticle instead of just the crosshairs. However, the crosshairs do have a narrow point where they intersect and then they bolden/widen a bit outside of that, which represents about 10 yards, so it's not been too much trouble to work things out. The lack of a sling attachment point is an odd omission to me.
What others should know:I don't mind shooting with the scope, but I really miss iron sights. Anyone know of an add-on option?

Light weight. Included scope was mounted and it was plenty accurate for me after making some adjustments for windage and elevation. The 10 shot magazine worked perfectly. It was easier to cock than some other gas piston rifles I own. It was not overly loud compared to other air rifles.
Things I would have changed:Sling mounts would be nice if they can figure out how to attach them. The front attachment would be the problem.
What others should know:Besides this Gamo, I also have a Hatsan 95QE and Benjamin Prowler both in .22 caliber. All 3 seem to shoot better with heavier pellets than light ones. I would not go below 16 grain pellets on any of the .22 cal rifles. The JSB Jumbo Diabolo 18.13 gr and H&N 21.14 gr have worked well in all 3 guns.

Great gun. Lots of power. Sub-sonic, so not too loud. Scope is dead on, right out of the box.
Things I would have changed:Would be nice to have sights, for use without a scope.

Very powerful rifle, I love it, the scope is very good, it has been upgraded since GEN 1, This is a much better scope with no problems and very accurate. It has a 30lb cocking system, and is better than working out with exercise equipment. You will build up upper body strength and having fun doing it. I used 1/4" ply wood as a back stop and after repeated target shooting I walked up to check it out and found big holes in the wood and damaged the siding of my garage. So I put up a old car hood to save the rest of my siding and after repeated shooting found holes in the hood also, man this rifle is so powerful, My wife does not know yet about the damage to the siding, not looking forward when she finds out.
Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:Make sure you have a strong back stop and check it out now and then to make sure your not going through it.

Powerful, decent scope(yes, it is pretty good), easy to operate, though Ive had a few jams that happened. I just purchased it, so that may be expected until I can work the kinks out of it.
Things I would have changed:I wish Gamo would start putting sling mounts on their products.
What others should know:Good design- better than the Crosman Magfire design(regarding pellet mags). I like the newer mag placement- horizontal instead of vertical.

10 shots what not to like about that. Seems loud when shooting, but doesn't sound loud when someone else is and just standing back. Definitely whispers at 75 yards away the impact of the pellet in the target really only thing you hear. Like the composite stock can let get dinged and I have and I don't care.
Things I would have changed:Put 500 rounds thru it my brother horsed the mag out of the barrel [ didn't let it eject] and spring unwound, had to re tension it. Would be nice to get 2 mags. Ordered 2nd mag. with rifle but still on backorder.

Powerful and well balanced. On initial sight-in it was all over the place and I couldn't get a decent grouping. After putting approx 100 pellets through it I was finally able to get it to group consistently hitting a dime size bull at 30yds.
Things I would have changed:Not sure why, but when using the Gamo PBA raptor alloy pellets, they randomly fall out of the mag during the cocking process. I also had one that apparently went into the chamber crooked and the loading mechanism crushed it into the end of the chamber. Maybe a problem with the magazine ?? None of the 5 varieties of lead pellets i tried had any issue loading or staying in the mag.
What others should know:Great gun for the money !!

Gun is a very nice quality for the price, seems solid, no rattles, barrel opens and closes solidly. Accuracy is good to 30 yards & I think it could be better if you wanted to try different pellet brands and grains. Quit enough to not bother the neighbors Great knockdown power squirrels don't stand a chance The scope is what it is for $200 bucks (gun & scope) not much you can complain about - its good to 30 yards.
Things I would have changed:not much - maybe include an extra magazine -
What others should know:Spend a few extra dollars and buy a quality pellet mine gun seems to like the H&N Sport Baracuda Hunter Extreme.

Couldnt tell you. The loading mechanism broke on the 5th shot
Things I would have changed:The loading mechanism. That much plastic mixed with metal springs is not going to last. Seemed flimsy
What others should know:I only shot it 4 times before it broke. It barely penetrated into a sheet of plywood. I probably just got a gun put together on a Friday afternoon. Also I spent $56 for usps priority mail and it took two weeks to get it. I shipped it back and Im waiting for a refund

The gun is light weight, accurate and the 10 shot magazine works as advertised.
Things I would have changed:Since this gun was purchased for my 15 year old granddaughter, I wish the safety would engage automatically with every cock.
What others should know:I fitted the gun with a 3x9 UTG scope. On my granddaughters first outing she took 14 starlings and a pigeon at a local farm, with shots being in the 20 to 40 yard range. She is extremely pleased with the gun, as am I.
