I liked the feel. The grip is large and comfortable.
Things I would have changed:Service.
What others should know:I've had trouble with this gun from the beginning. The trigger is terrible and I believe that the barrel was bent. Now the safety does not work and sounds like it is lose. Also, sometimes the gun cocks and sometimes it does not. I contacted Hatsan Service department and received the following: “If it's determined that your issues were caused by something other than manufacture's defect, i.e. user error, tampering, abuse, etc., we'll contact you with a cost of the repair and return shipping before we do any work.” You have to pay for shipping the gun to them, and then pay the return shipping from them to you. It seems like Hatsan has everything covered especially user error. User error could be anything they want it to be. Their warranty sounds all inclusive to me, but in their favor not mine. I did not tamper with this pistol but I’m not putting any more money into this piece of you know what. While waiting for Hatsan to return my emails (one email was not answered, the second took another week) I bought a RWS Diana LP8 and absolutely love it. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra money and buy the LP8. Pyramyd Air has been great, timely help and sympathy but their hands are tied.

This is my second I have its big brother the .22. Points great well built and deadly accurate. Again adjust the trigger otherwise it is to heavy adjusts nicely. The cocking effort is heavy at 58 lbs. But really does cock well with the assist in place.
Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:All Hatsans have a tight chamber pistols and rifles so do not try crossman pellets they are so erratic in size that over half of them will not fit. Only pellet I have had this problem with. Want a powerhouse that is accurate this is it. Built to last. Enjoy.

Accurate, very well-balanced, and plenty of power.
Things I would have changed:I don't know if it is possible, but maybe a nitro-piston power-plant would help in the cocking.
What others should know:At first I couldn't decide between the Hatsan or the similar Browning pistol. I'm glad I went with Hatsan. They don't "fluff" on their specs. But be fore-warned, this pistol takes a great amount of effort to cock. The reward is that it very powerful. No question that this is not a toy!

This gun is really powerful and accurate! The pellet will go through an soda can in 30 yards easily! Knocking down the birds or squirrels, or even a rabbit is not a hard job for this gun :) it looks so handsome and really fit on your hand! Very quiet for shooting in the back yard.
Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:At first, cocking this gun is kind of hard; however, if we shoot more than 100 rounds, it's going to be more easier, don't worry about that. :)

Accuracy is outstanding.Sights are great.Very quiet
Things I would have changed:Safety is rough but that's not an issue.
What others should know:I sighted it in at 25 feet in my house. We took it to the range and it was dead on at 35 yards. We shot it 200 times. The only way we could miss is if we tried. I recommend this pistol with an 9 out of 10 just because the safety is rough. Otherwise it is GREAT. I am getting 2 more for my shooting friends that really liked it and had never shot one before.

like this pistol so much, i now have two of them!
Things I would have changed:low profile sights...so one can mount a scope and keep the sights.
What others should know:it took a little work, but i got the Crosman 1399 Custom Shoulder Stock to fit! still have the finger grips on the front of the grip. need to buy an offset scope mount, then it will be really great.

Aside from the lousy trigger which can be greatly improved as below, the accuracy is very good. Not too loud.
Things I would have changed:Trigger is horrible. Hatsan says "match grade two stage trigger". This is a joke. But it can be fixed! Breach was too sharp/burr'd to insert a pellet The dovetail mounting rail needs a stop or it should be a Weaver rail - after several shots my dot sight mount was destroyed as it slid out of the rails. Front sight dot frame is big enough to obscure targets.
What others should know:First gun out of the box shot horribly to the right. Pyramyd customer service was AWESOME and very quickly replaced it. The second gun shot straight, out of the box. That said, the triggers on both guns were NOT adjustable. Hatsan puts headed screws in the trigger that bottom out before they can ever contact the sear transfer bar. So the trigger is long, draggy and just plain terrible. The only way to get adjustment is to drill out the un-obtainable screw threads they install and put your own adjustment screws in. Once you do this, you'll be able to adjust for a nice short first stage and crisp breaking second stage (if you hone the sear surface). Take note of the safety that blocks the trigger - make sure it is tight enough to actually work with a decent trigger set - mine needed a tweak.
After doing the trigger mods, honing the sear, adding a sight stop and de-burring the breach, the gun is very good. Just consider it a kit........

Good power and accuracy (after mods) in a .22 cal. Sights are also very good, although the size of the front sight frame holding the red fiber-optic dot obscures the target. This is a decent start at a fun gun - it can be improved by the owner without too much fuss.
Things I would have changed:My first Hatsan shipment shot way right - Pyramyd Customer Service was EXCELLENT - they replaced the gun very quickly. The second gun shot striaght. However, the trigger on both guns was horrible. The "adjustment" screws bottom out before they even touch the sear transfer bar. Honestly, "Match grade 2-stage trigger" is a joke. That said, it can be easily improved by adding some real adjustment screws and honing the rough-cut sear surface that is easily accessible at the rear of the pistol. Another issue is the 11mm mounting slot - nothing stays put, there's no fixed stop. I ruined the mount of a dot sight as it just peeled off the rail after several shots. Either provide an integral weaver rail or add a stop. The breech entrance was also rough/jagged on both pistols, and would make inserting a pellet very difficult. This too can be easily fixed by the owner.
What others should know:To have a decent trigger on this gun, drill out the holes for the useless who-knows-what factory screws and tap for 8-32 or similar screws that are long enough to touch the sear transfer bar. The first stage screw will end up useless and the first stage adjustment will go away when you get some adjustment on the second stage screw - you could just do the rear screw. Once you adjust close, the safety block will have to be tweaked tighter to still work (mine was very sloppy loose) with a decent trigger. It still isn't perfect, but it is pretty close.
This gun is now a delight - great trigger, accurate, and hard-hitting. Lots of fun!

This has becom my favorite gun. Accurate as can be. Trigger excellent and adjustable. Sights are terrific no need for a red dot or scope. Very consistant. I intend to get the .177 version of this gun soon.
Things I would have changed:Nothing

Adjustable front and rear sights, trigger, auto safety
Things I would have changed:Cocking aid threads on, wish it was slip-on and somewhat longer.
What others should know:I bought the .22 caliber version, this gun has a lot of power but recoil is well damped, the recoil ls less apparent then it was in a similar style .177 caliber gun I just returned to Pyramyd Air. Even so this is not a gun for a smaller person it takes considerable force to cock this gun. Over all I am quite happy with this purchase Sights were almost right on out of the box, trigger is adjustable but mine was fine out of box. Accuracy was very good and I think it will improve the more I use the gun. I like the look and feel of this gun also.

Great feel fits my hand properly. Very accurate. Adjustable trigger. Front and rear adjustable sights.
Things I would have changed:A slightly lighter cocking force would be nice.

Things I would have changed:weight. be nice if they knocked off a couple of pounds
What others should know:this is going to be the most powerful break barell you can buy in either .177 or .22 cal bar none. chrono between 590-600 in .22 cal with regular lead pellets. i assume the .177 cal will get a solid 700 fps with reg. lead pellets seeing as the results i got. Great gun!!!

Well made, good sights and shoots strait.Has an extention you can screw onto the barrel for cocking purposes that you can leave on permanate.
Things I would have changed:Not a thing,i have a brownning 800 to and both in 22 cal but this one is for sure better.
What others should know:Looks to me not to many purchase this but side by side to the browning 800 this one is better in my book and less money.

The gun has Power and heft. The grips are great and have a good feel, not sticky, but non slip. the Recoil slide is a great, it does not have the harsh firing characteristics I expected. The thread muzzle is great. Trigger very functional. Overall great air pistol.
Things I would have changed:less plastic, metal sights. more metal and a little more precision in the recoil slide. maybe a 11" barrel with 2" brake, the use of the brake is almost absolute due to the cocking force, perhaps a little more velocity is possible with a longer barrel.
What others should know:You'll want to use the muzzle brake, it the diff between day and night without it...much more fun to shoot if you don't have to struggle in cocking the gun.
there is a little free play in the slide system that allows lateral flexing between the action and the lower grip assemble. I do not think it effect accuracy, but it might have been a little more precision.
mine gun the barrel angle is so much as I'm not able to scope, I've maxed the elevation dial and still can't zero at 10 yards...I'm making a sight threw mount in my shop and will compensate the angle.
I like this gun alot and should say for airgunners my age (early 50's) it is reminiscent of the Webley hurricane, except much more power and friendly to shoot. I've recommend this gun to my best oldest- friend, so it that good!

Good quality, nice to hold. Not a competition pistol but it is pretty accurate. I suspect with a scope, my groupings would be more consistent. Recoil suppressor is nice. Doesn't seem to be pellet picky.
Things I would have changed:Don't care for the design of the safety. It's position and function is fine but the movement feels cheap.
What others should know:If your not a strong person, this is not the gun for you. I've had a couple of average built woman try to break and load the gun and they were not able to.

amazing power,good trigger,smooth firing behavior
Things I would have changed:front sight is too wide, rear is too narrow
What others should know:I recently praised the Browning 800-everything I said goes for this gun X3! Mine is .22 caliber-I've never shot a spring pistol in this caliber that shot so flat-it hits an object at 30 yards like right now! The trigger is also quite good & after around 100 shots or so the gun quieted down & the firing behavior became quite smooth-especially for a gun of this power. I like the screw-on metal cocking aid much better than a slip on plastic one-it looks good & you don't have to worry about it moving around or falling off & getting lost.Besides the smooth action & good trigger, fit & finish are also quite good-The Turkish craftsmen obviously take their job seriously. It is a bit hard to cock but this is expected given the power. Anyone who is used to cocking springers shouldn't find it objectionable.Only two negatives-on mine the breech is very tight-I tried silver bears first since I have found them to usually be the most accurate in pistols in .22 cal-I could barely get them to go in. The same for premiers & Napier power hunters. JSB exacts fit pretty well & thats what I've been using. Will need to lap the edges of the opening slightly. I also don't care for the sights-The rear notch is too narrow for the thick front blade-it makes it difficult to take a fine bead on small targets.Perhaps Pyramyd could encourage Hatsan to correct this & maybe offer the choice of black sights in addition to fiber optic. All in all this is a fine gun well worth twice it's asking price.
