Description
Approximate fill times with 5 CFM compressor:
- Dragon Claw Single Tube (244cc): 0-3000 psi = 12 mins; 1500-3000 psi = 4 mins
- Air Arms S510 (231cc): 0-3000 psi = 12 mins
- Air Venturi 13 cu-in aluminum tank: 0-3000 psi = 11 mins
- Air Venturi 90 cu-in Carbon Fiber Tank: 0-3000 psi = 1.25 hrs
The Air Venturi Power Booster creates independence from conventional fill sources. Finally, freedom from the SCUBA shop! The Power Booster is capable of operating in conjunction with an existing shop compressor to provide up to 4500 psi.
The shop compressor acts as the first stage, feeding up to 90 psi to the Booster. It is recommended that a shop compressor capable of delivering 60-90 psi at 5 cubic feet per minute (CFM) is used. A compressor producing less than 5 CFM may result in slower fill times.
The Power Booster is light weight, compact and far less expensive than a more conventional, stand-alone high pressure compressor. No more traveling to a SCUBA shop and no more time spent operating a hand pump to fill your PCP air guns. This Booster unit cuts out the middle man and (in the case of a hand pump) the physical strain. Welcome to the era of Air Independence!
Below are some links to compressors that will meet the recommended specs for use with the Power Booster:
- 10 Gallon 125 PSI compressor
- 21 Gallon 125 PSI Compressor
- 30 Gallon 175 PSI Compressor
- 10 Gallon 125 PSI Oil Free Compressor
- 4 Gallon 225 PSI Compressor
NOTE: Shipping of the Booster may be delayed up to one business day.

- Tips for buying a pcp compressor
This unit requires a shop compressor capable of a working output pressure of 60-90 psi. It is recommended that your shop compressor be capable of at least a 5 CFM flow rate. Less than 5 CFM will produce slower fill times.
This Booster should not be used for breathing air.

10 of 11 Air Venturi Power Booster 4500 Reviews
Quiet, simple, much quicker than hand pump. Since there are no electric parts and it is lubricated it will probably last a long time.
Things I Would Have ChangedOil definition should be communicated even ahead of ordering. Standard description that it is not included as well.
What Others Should KnowShould be specific on what oil is needed. Used synthetic compressor oil. I am sure standard hydraulic would be bad as listed in the manual. Viscosity is significantly different for hydraulic oil.
Pressure and CFM has to be enough to actuate the booster. 50 psi at least needed to get to 3000psi out on the booster so 60:1 boost. It is needed to be close to this pressure and at least 3 CFM available to make it actuate. You will need 75 psi at that rate min to get to 4500 psi and actuate, and it will be slow or you will use the booster on / off to build enough pressure and continue pumping. This will make it even slower. This is ok for me I already have the compressor and it is way easier than hand pumping. Unless I purchase a bottle I will likely never need to go above 3000psi at least with the guns I own now.
Unit is compact and light and easy to use Works as stated
Things I Would Have ChangedInclude information on proper fill oil ( brand ,type) Include a small amount of oil with unit
What Others Should KnowThe unit requires a large amount of air to operate
Do not think it will operate on a small compressor!
It needs a high output shop compressor to be efficient
If your compressor is less than 5cfm with a large storageyou will be disappointed
It is simple to use. Works great for filling guns. From 1000psi to 3000psi takes about 1:32 to fill the Gamo urban.
moister separator, the price, easy hook up
Things I Would Have Changedwould be nice it the oil overflow cap was mounted on the side instead of under, or add leg mounts to raise it off the floor a little.
What Others Should Knowdefinitely need more than 5 cfm at 90 psi to get descent fill times, the setting only goes to 4000 psi but it is capable of 4500 psi. it does spray water out so you will need to raise it up a little to keep it from sitting in a puddle depending on how long you run it.
it does work well, but my compressor is a little small on the CFM's will get a new compressor when I can afford it. I may update as I use it more
What Others Should Knowquality control is a little lacking, manual said it was set at 3000 psi at factory, it wasn't. the female adapter was no good 7 of the 8 ball bearings were missing so once you put pressure to it to fill it would not release after opening pressure relief valve. the oil filler that was supplied arrive broken
It works like it should. It dose not make a lot of noise. It pumps my Bulldog from 1500 psi in 9 minutes and in less than 7 minutes from 2000. It pumps my Marauder from 2000 in 6 minutes . I'm using a brand new California Air Tools 10020C compressor.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt dose not come with oil. The instructions say use compressor oil or hydraulic oil. When I went to the hardware store they only had hydraulic oil. I called PA and they said synthetic 10W-30 could be used and not to use hydraulic oil. Comes in a really nice box....with only one plastic tie holding it together ? The instructions are lacking.
What Others Should KnowThe water filter works and relieves it's self when pressure is disconnected. It makes a puddle. I'm not sure what happens when it becomes full during use ? My compressor puts out a lot of water . It seems to blow off at 60 psi and bounces between 40 and 60 psi. The pump starts right after you turn the booster on. The booster dose not get warm . It seems to get colder.
It's small and it doesn't require electricity. Easy to use right out of the box.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt is painfully slow to fill either Scuba or Carbon Fiber Tanks. I tried first with a 125psi 5.5SCFM compressor and gauge didn't even move once it got to 1500 psi. Not very efficient with the air that goes in the unit no matter how high the compressor capacity or the SCFM.
What Others Should KnowIt's ok to refill your PCP rifle. If you want to use it to fill let's say an 80cf SCUBA tank it can take forever. I mean compressor running continuously for hours and hours.
not so sure yet ,, first off the output to the gun leaked and was as tight as it should be,, replaced with another with the exact thread pattern ,,leak stopped and it is more flexible than the stock output hose ,, the no kink hoses are the best ,,expensive but well worth the price and ya aint gotta fight it like the wire stranded stiff stock hose.will update when my new compressor arrives
Things I Would Have Changedadd the no kink hose to the pump as a stock item and make it work on less input and cfm air pressure as i had to order a 6cfm at 90 psi compressor
What Others Should Knowyou compressor must provide at least 5 to 6 cfm at 85 psi,, yes its rated at 90psi but 80 to 85psi is a little in my opinion safer
This thing pumps up my mrods in under 3 minutes it's the best purchase I ever made other than my mrods.
Things I Would Have ChangedOnly the price

Initial performance....
Things I Would Have ChangedDependability. It doesnt match the performance specifications listed by the manufacturer. It failed within 13 months. All maintenance was completed on time and as per the owners manual!
What Others Should KnowThere is a reason why this product is no longer available. Im a little sceptical of the Air Venturi brand as it relates to high pressure air compressors to include the power booster product. Not worth the $ 500 cost.
