The Alkin W31 Mariner is the gold standard for PCP compressors. It produces dry, dive-quality air, will fill a large 70 cu. ft. air tank in less than 10 minutes, (from zero to 4500psi), and can run continuously without overheating or the need for any water cooling. It requires none of the constant maintenance, care, and monitoring of the typical Asian-sourced units selling in the $1500 - $2500 range. It does have a 50-hour oil and filter-change interval, but at less than 10-minutes per fill, that is a 2 or 3 year event. Finally, Alkin support is unbeatable. They have a parts facility in New Jersey, they have how-to videos for everything, and when I left a question on their website, the very person in the video called me directly. With this compressor, you will be free to shoot PCPs all day. I no longer worry about shot capacity or air-hungry large-caliber / full-auto rifles.
Things I Would Have ChangedI have a horizontal electric version which Pyramid is not currently offering. I think it is better set up and easier to service than the vertical models, although less portable.
What Others Should KnowThe automatic shut-off version is not very adjustable, (only a few psi either way), but is well worth the expense considering how fast this unit fills. It is easy to add switches for other pressures, say 3000psi as well as 4500psi.
