Description
The Athlon Optics Ares ETR UHD 4.5-30x56 Rifle Scope with APRS1 FFP MIL reticle provides excellent performance for hunting and extreme distance shooting. It uses a 56mm objective lens and a high-precision erector system, and it has a 34mm aircraft-grade aluminum one piece tube that is heat treated for increased durability.
The scope is shockproof, waterproof, and argon purged to deliver enhanced fogproofing compared to scopes that use lesser methods of purging. In addition, it uses very low-dispersion UHD glass, advanced fully-multicoated lenses, and XPL protective coating that combine to result in well-defined views and superior resistance from contaminants such as oil and dirt.
The Athlon Optics Ares UHD 4.5-30x56 uses a locking windage turret that helps to prevent unintended adjustments due to bumps or snags, as well as a precision zero stop on the elevation turret and stainless steel interior components for the turrets. Both turrets can be adjusted in a range of 32 MIL, with 0.1 MIL click increments and 10 MIL per rotation.
The APRS1 FFP (first focal plane) MIL reticle uses etched glass for performance and features a fine central dot, hash marks on the crosshairs out to a distance of 6 mils in all directions, and a Christmas tree section of holdover dots and markings on the bottom. The illuminated reticle feature can be activated on the portions out to 6 mils using variable brightness settings.
To get a scope that works across a wide range of conditions and uses, buy the Athlon Optics Ares ETR UHD 4.5-30x56 with APRS1 FFP MIL reticle today from Pyramyd AIR.

10 of 12 Athlon Optics 4.5-30x56 Ares ETR Reviews
Been waiting a few months to leave this review so I could get some rounds though it. I have it on a Bergara b14 HMR in 6.5PRC. I’ve put around 200rds through it so far since getting it and I love it. Super clean glass (pictures don’t do any justice), good zoom, holds zero and I like the reticle. Although I do wish it had locking elevation turrets.
One of the better pieces of glass on the market for the price. Great purchase and hasn’t let me down yet, would recommend this glass to all my friends and family so far, including my expert voice family. The clarity is great and it holds up well to many rounds down range and in the field. If you’re looking for a new piece of glass and don’t wanna break the bank too hard this scope here is right for you!
I throughly love this scope it is a great optic capable of handle multiple purposes I have used it on my competition rifle for prs, I have used it for deer hunting and hog hunting, I recently took it to Africa to hunt. The BDC reticle is super useful for on the fly shooting and not having to do my clicks. I love being able to set my zero stop. The backlit reticle is also great for low light with different brightnesses for different light levels the parallax is amazing on this optic so no matter what it stays the same adjustments for the reticle super clear lenses on a full moon you can use this scope with no issues and life time no questions asked replacement warranty is awesome
The glass on this scope is fantastic for the price point. My only real comparison is among Arken and Leopold. It blows the arken out of the water on clarity and can give my Leopold a run for its money. Only looses out slightly with mirage at higher magnification. The zero stop is stupid simple to adjust at the range. The turrets are notched so adjusting your zero is fast. The clicks are very tactile and very audible.
Point being you will be satisfied with your purchase. I'm surprised more people don't run these.
For Chinese glass this is as good as I have found especially at the price point offered. Not quite as good as the next level up Japanese scopes but for a PRS22 rig it’s perfect.
Almost never rate any product 5 stars until I have had extensive testing for durability and reliability.
One of the best scopes i have on my guns, Glasses is clear and has wonderful read outs. This scope definitely swings way above it's price. Get a good mount and you're set
This is a fantastic optic. I chose this based on positive reviews of others, now I can reccomend it based on my own experience. I was particularly impressed with the tactile feel of the clicks of the turrets. Glass clarity is excellent. Loses a little brightness at the last 7% of max magnification. The .3mil floating center dot is perfect for precision shot placement for NRL22 and PRS match play. I plan to use this hard this season to see if I'll employ it for duty use, but so far I have no hesitation recommending this as a top tier competitive optic for match use. My scope snob friends were impressed. Put it on their radar. PLUS it looks ballin in the brown/bronze tone. "Chef's kiss" on top of my bronze cerakoted CZ457 Manners mtr build.
Bought these as an upgrade to my viper gen 2 and another viper HST.
I was admittedly a little concerned that it wouldn't be on par with the viper, or even the gen2 razor that it's supposed to compete with. I'm glad to say that it's an upgrade on every level. The eyebox at 30x is FAR more open and forgiving than the viper, the illumination is also much brighter, turrets and solid and have tactile and audible clicks. 32 MILs of adjustment is a great upgrade as well. The glass is clear and bright with minimal scope shadow.
My main complaints are that it doesn't come with any accessories. For this price range it should really include a halfway decent set of lens covers and the thread in throw lever. They cost nothing to produce and give you that warm fizzy feeling of not having to buy a bunch of other accessories.
Overall 4.5/5, but I'll round up as the value is still great.

This optic is very solid. Came with a lot of accessories like shade, cleaning cloth, and tools. I’m using this optic for long bench rest distance shooting. Likes: glass quality, finish and feel, and price. Dislikes: turret feel isn’t as crisp as say a nightforce but also I’m not using it for the same reasons. If you’re looking for great glass for a non-duty application, this is right up your alley - pro and non pro alike.
