7 of 7 BSA R-10 MK2 PCP Air Rifle, Black Wrap Reviews
Well made, accurate rifle at a great price (bought in July '18 at the close out price). The black, rubber wrap over the wood (so much better than black plastic stocks) stock is great even though I don't typically like rifles that are all black. Stock is well designed and ambidextrous . It is a quiet rifle and even more so after I turned it down from 21fpe to 20fpe. Loves Crosman Premier Heavy which can be found pretty cheap though it likes most pellets. I have taken some of it apart for kicks and it is very easy to work on.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe owner's manual could be a little more in depth. Single shot load tray (which I really like) and magazine should be cheaper. Should come with a dust probe to put in the fill probe hole to keep dust out between fills. Though I am getting plenty of shots with the 200cc bottle I think a 280cc bottle would be better (though I have not tried it on my rifle) as it couldn't cost any more. When I bought the rifle I thought I could easily switch it to LH. You can't. There are a handful of parts you have to buy to do this and at this point I haven't decided to spend the money.
What Others Should KnowMy rifle is a .177. Accuracy has been spectacular. My real break in accuracy came when I got around to putting a scope level on it. I think the rifle is so deep from scope to bottom of stock it doesn't take much to get it way out of cant. Once I got the level on the scope it has been a tack driver. Out of the box I was getting around 60 regulated shots at 960fps (21fpe). I backed off the hammer spring to around 910fps (little under 20fpe) and get 80 shots on reg and the rifle is much quieter. The trigger was too heavy no matter how I tried to adjust so I swapped out the two trigger springs with spring I cut out of a Bic lighter and now it is great. I had the bottle on and off a bunch and went thru a couple bottle o-rings and qit caused leaks. The o-rings are super easy to swap so keep some on hand. This rifle loads from the left side. This works great for me as I am left handed. I have a UTG scope with the 100mm sidewheel. It works and am able to load it fine.
It looks the part with the stock design and bull barrel. I would say this rifle is kind of like that girl you notice in the bar after 3 drinks. Looks great, shoots a tight group, but has major issues. I returned my first rifle (in real tree cammo pattern) because it leaked from the fill port. Received my replacement and guess what, it leaks from the fill port as well. Very disappointing. Ruined 2 rabbit hunts.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe design so that it wont fail in the field.
What Others Should Knowbeware!!
The value for the money. This really is a top notch rifle. I normally shoot Air Arms pro targets. So I have pretty high expectations and this lives up to them.
Things I Would Have ChangedInclude the single shot adapter
What Others Should KnowThe trigger is very good for a sporting rifle. It should improve with time.
Accurate and quiet
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing..just the price of a spare mag
What Others Should KnowThis gun is selling at such a bargain, grab it while it lasts. Should be in the 1k range, regulator, quiet (with 1/2 unf to add an aftermarket moderator to make it near silent) and most accurate pcp I own at the moment. Only had this one week and quickly had become my favorite PCP. The SE version sells for over 1k and its not much of an upgrade...thanks Pyramyd Air
Close out price made this a no brainer purchase, based on previous dealing with BSA and Gamo. Really liked the weight.
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter quality control, this one was DOA. I filled it with air and within 30 minutes it had all leaked out. Tightened bottle and retried but same result.
What Others Should KnowBSA has an excellent reputation but no company is perfect, so I happened to get one that wasn't. Lots of my fellow airgunners tend to try to fix issues on new air guns, but I'm not one of those guys. This issue should have been discovered before it ever left the factory. I'm returning to swap for a Marauder Field and Target.
Accurate
Things I Would Have ChangedPrice of spare magazines
What Others Should KnowGreat guns for a good price.

This rifle is very accurate, but it took a break in period to realize the accuracy. It gets around 55 shots per fill. Mine loves Crosman 10.5 grain cpl pellets. It also shoots JSB 10.34 very good also. This rifle is very back yard friendly. Trigger is very good.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rifle is too long at 44 inches. Also the stock and I have the black wrap is a little fat for my hands, so a little thinner stock would be nice.
What Others Should KnowI took the shroud off and screwed a Donny FL Tanto moderator on it and shortened it by 4 inches and it did not affect accuracy or noise level. Clean the barrel real good for good accuracy.
