Cold Steel Mayhem AUS10, Black, Ambidextrous, Manual

I grabbed one of the first-run limited editions of this blade, planning on reselling it in a few months for a profit, but I have found it to be such a multi-purpose knife that I can't seem to part with it. It's big but thin enough to hide in a large pocket—clips securely onto a thick belt for a dependable backup on isolated hiking and biking trails.

This is one of the coolest knives CS has released. The balance, the weight, and of course, the blade shape is impressive. This is the first CS Atlas locking system that I’ve owned and it’s darn smooth. While the Tri-Ad lock system is great (solid design and pulling the blade from a pocket to deploy the blade is still very innovative), this design will not leaving you wanting. The Atlas lock bar makes it easier to collapse the blade but has the strength enjoyed in knives with the Tri-Ad lock. The Atlas lock can be used to aid the user to easily deploy the blade with just a small flick of the wrist by pressing back on the lock bar. I have nothing bad to report about this knife and appreciate the Atlas lock. Moreover, the experience with this knife inspired me to buy the 3.5” Engage folder as a more practical EDC while enjoying the locking system and S35VN steel (love carrying the Mayhem but I’m avoiding freaking out coworkers). This brings me to my gripe with CS. I want the limited edition version of the Mayhem. I get that AUS10A is considered a high quality steel, I prefer the S35VN steel’s attributes a little more. Also, the red trim on the limited edition looks sharp (pun intended) and I’d rather that than the grey trim on the AUS10A version. Please CS re-release the limited addition.

Slasher, Stabber, Cleaver, Collection piece, user, Tactical EDC WITH A MULTIPLICITY OF USES. He who doesn't jump on this one will regret it. A MUST HAVE. Smaller in length by and inch than the Espada Xl but wider and Razor sharp out of the box. Practically Indestructible.

The mayhem Knife is great good quality its massive

The Maygem being a large bladed folder whether you are using it too chop, slice or dice,it will meet all challenges head on. Great for that next hunting trip with your buddies or fixing dinner for the family it will be up for the task and fyi if you are taking it with on your next trip make sure you check the local laws for pocket knife’s just to make sure your not breaking any laws.

I was hesitant about the Mayhem. I thought it was a bit strange looking in the beginning. I bought one just because. I tell you what. It's super nice. I'm impressed and surprised. It's unique. It's lighter than I expected. It carries in my back pocket and doesn't hurt my rear end. The clip doesn't seem to have the usual grip of death which is great. I don't mind the pocket clip size. Very nice handle. Very comfortable wherever you grab it. Nice rounded edges. Love the little cut outs exposing the layers of g10 like the Frenzy. The lock is another story. The open and closing on this knife is totally nice and very cool. It's a breeze and so smooth. It feels solid and sounds good. I was and still am shocked as to the cool factor of the function. One finger moves the lock back and a slight arm swing forward and the blade opens. So little effort is required. That is so cool. You can push the thumb stud also with little effort. The ease of opening and closing is amazing. No problem with any premature opening. For anyone that thinks the blade itself looks weird I have to say in person it's a showstopper. You have to have one in hand to appreciate it. I'd like to know who designed this. I thought these were over priced. I don't think that now. This knife is worth the cost. This knife says to me Cold Steel has not lost their Mojo at all and if anything this is a step up in a major way. .

The new Mayhem by ColdSteel is reminiscent of some of the early Bowie knives, with it’s continuous curve to the blade and a point designed for piercing, I haven’t found a cutting task in my daily life this heavy duty folder couldn’t handle. Recently I used it to open a thick recalcitrant package while with a group of friends and not only were they impressed with how quickly it made short work of opening the container, but also how poorly their collective assortment of pocket knives performed on it ! They were also impressed with the heft and construction of the new ColdSteel product. It’s my favorite pocket knife now, and my only regret is that I didn’t have it with me when I used to go camping on the Appalachian Trail as a younger man.
