The Cold Steel SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) has been a proud flagship blade in our line-up for over 25 years. The knife of choice for many of our brothers and sisters in the military, it remains the standard issue fixed blade of the Navy SEALs during BUDS training to this day. Its little wonder then, that when we tasked custom knife maker Andrew Demko with developing a new high-end tactical folding knife for military application, that he took inspiration from the legendary SRK! The SR1 features Andrews signature minimalist style, with no unnecessary flourishes or embellishments, just pure functional, no-nonsense, practical design. The SR1s heavy duty blade is made to put to work. Crafted from 5mm thick American CPM-S35VN premium steel, its a heavy duty work horse, designed for the harshest and most unforgiving environments. A good blade needs a good handle, so the SR1s handle is made from premium G-10 with heat treated nested steel liners. With an integrated lanyard hole and coarse-textured surface for a secure grip even in cold, wet conditions, and expertly contoured to allow for a comfortable and safe grip even while wearing heavy gloves. For added reliability and peace of mind, we equipped the SR1 with our world-famous Tri-Ad locking mechanism - proven time and time again to weather even the worst abuse, with unparalleled shock and impact resistance - making this knife the ideal choice for a survival rescue blade intended for our nations warrior elite!

Sweet knife. Heavy duty. A slab of s35vn. Everything cold steel is known for. Very happy.
The SR1 is a knife for people who want quality tools which will outlive them. Everything from the blade steel to the no-nonsense design (very grippy, practically indestructible lockup with the tri-ad lock) screams "rugged utility". The blade is reassuringly thick, but not quite as comical as some other thick blades though - just enough to inspire confidence in the task at hand. My only "complaint" is really just a matter of personal preference. The only means of opening the SR1 is via a thumb stud, and while I appreciate the one-handed option, it's not a rapid deployment. However, this is something I can address myself so it's not a huge deal. Overall this is a fantastic knife.
The quality of this knife is unlike any other knives in my collection. Absolutely love it, not only is it a huge knife, it’s also razer sharp and stays sharp.
This is the knife you need in your kit for TEOTWAWKI. This is a substantial solid knife with a blade wide enough to land a Harrier Jump Jet on. All my other knives just got intimidated.
I purchased my SR1 9 years ago and it is still holding up like new. From batoning on the spine to striking a ferro rod the 3/16" thick blade is beefy enough for any task. I would absolutely recommend this purchase.
