SR1 TANTO POINT
The Cold Steel SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) has been a flagship blade in our line-up for over 25 years. The knife of choice for many in the military, it remains the standard issue fixed blade of the Navy SEALs during BUDS training to this day. When we asked custom knife maker Andrew Demko to develop a high-end tactical folding knife for military application, he took his inspiration from our SRK! The SR1 features Andrew's signature minimalist style, without flourishes or embellishments, just pure functional, practical design. The SR1 and the new SR1 Tanto are made for work. Crafted from American CPM-S35VN premium steel, both are heavy duty work horses, designed for the harshest and unforgiving environments. A good blade needs a good handle, so the SR1's handle is made from premium G-10 with heat treated nested steel liners. With a coarse-textured surface for a secure grip even in cold, wet conditions, and expertly contoured to allow for a comfortable and safe grip even while wearing heavy gloves. For added reliability and peace of mind, we equipped the SR1 with our Tri-Ad locking mechanism - proven over time to weather the worst abuse, with unparalleled shock and impact resistance - making this knife the ideal choice for a survival rescue blade.

This reminds me of my cold Steel War Craft 12” Tanto, incredible. Nobody needs an EDC folder this good, except perhaps someone going to war. I don’t think any military branch issues a folder, but if they did, this would be perfect. It’s light, with a thick blade and thick G10 scales, and almost impossible to destroy without a sledgehammer.
I have been waiting to purchase this knife for a long time. I shouldnt have! It is definitely the most heavy duty EDC that I have and is just perfectly engineered and high quality. I love the grippy feel and texture of the grips and the way it feels in my big hands. I would rate it as best of the best!

I admit, thought I read a lot of paid endorsements all over the internet regarding this brand. Only to finally discover how jaded and misinformed I was. Things are quite different now that I have one in my hand. Freaking great knife (SR1)! Buy it, you won’t regret.
