VIKING SWORD
The historic Viking sword of the 9th & 10th centuries featured a long wide blade with a broad central fuller and two keen edges. A simple guard with forward curving quillons was often utilized and combined with a utilitarian wooden handle and a heavy 5 lobed pommel to balance the long blade. Cold Steels interpretation of this sword features a double-edged blade that is hand forged out of Carbon steel and hand polished and sharpened to perfection. The wooden handle is covered in leather and is supported by a simple, elegant guard at one end and a 5 lobed pommel at the other. The Viking Sword is supplied with a leather wrapped wooden scabbard that is reinforced with a polished steel chape and throat. The sword is beautiful, arrived sharp and ready to cause household accidents. The only thing I could complain about is the faux leather grip, it is not very comfortable or uniform in the hand, but I doubt a viking warrior would be complaining.
I had gotten machetes and knives from CS before, always great quality. First sword and, wow. It is light (for a sword) the edges are shockingly sharp and it feels extremely solid. I am going to get another sword.
Amazing quality blade i bought it as a conversation piece but it's so much more than that
I have had mine for over 9 years. If I had to use mine a lot, I would add more leather to the grip for cushion. But with that easy fix as my only almost negarive comment this sword was razor sharp out of the box and still is. Because it is so nice, I am dreaming of owning the CS Rapier and matching dagger. Thank you CS for giving me dreams.
Had the sword for about 2 years and have put it through some abuse. Edge holds well, blade does not bend, only minor complaint is that after some abuse the handguard began to rattle in use. Not a functional issue
I purchased this sword on a whim last week. Impulsively to be honest. However, when it arrived and I gripped hilt for the first time and drew blade from sheath; I knew I would never regret the buy. It has quickly become a cherished arm that I plan on keeping and proudly showing off forever. Thank you to the CS smiths.
I got one a few years ago and never wrote a review. Definitely worth every penny love it!! I got it for cutting and it does great definitely recommend!!
