10 of 12 Colt 1911 CO2 Metal Blowback Airsoft Pistol, Kit Reviews
This gun is just like my Tanfoglio BB 1911 pistol and similar to my 1911 45. It is strong enough and accurate enough for practice and of course, is safer. It has the "hop up" feature but I haven't had the need to tinker with that yet (It is accurate enough as is). I've been shooting at paper targets at approx. 7 yards. It is the same size, is mostly metal of good quality, feels good to hold, and weighs close to the real thing - can't go wrong practicing with one of these in a basement or other enclosed space large enough.
Things I Would Have ChangedReally none - good as is. Magazine may be difficult to keep open while loading the BB's but is not a problem once you loaded it a few times and get used to it.
What Others Should KnowI normally take it apart and grease all metal parts that slide, etc., and oil to prevent rust. It takes apart like the real 1911. I would have at least two magazines available. Looks just like a real 1911, so be careful where you show it, etc.
well made
Things I Would Have ChangedInstructions should be improved. I am still trying to find out (including searching Pyramyd) what BAXS adjustable hop upis and why I need it.
I like that it is full metal and it has good blowback. Plus the extras that come along with it.
Things I Would Have ChangedI don't think it is as accurate as I thought it would be...maybe it's me. I may have to adjust the hop-up just a little. I have never done that before on a gun, so I haven't tried that yet.
What Others Should KnowFor my small to medium size lady hands the grip is a little big...but still very doable.
This is a very realistic replica of the Colt 1911 .45 ACP. I own three 1911 .45 ACPs and this airsoft pistol is good enough to provide useful practice at very low cost - right inside my house. I was really surprised to find that the trigger pull was actually very good. Overall, this kit is a great value for the money.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would have preferred a flat mainspring housing to match my real .45 ACPs, but the original Colts had the curved mainspring housing just like this replica.
What Others Should KnowThe instructions that come with the pistol are a bit short on detail but there is lots of information about these pistols online.
The all metal construction gives this a bit of a real heft to it. Weighing in at 32.5 oz loaded with CO2 and 15 .20g BBs its not far off the unloaded weight of 35.9 oz of my SigSauer .45ACP firearm with NO AMMO or mag in it. Being all metal the slide has momentum coming back and provides pretty good recoil for an airgun. Everything about the fit and function of this gun out of the box mimics the firearm its replicating with the exception of the mag capacity. Even the tear down is very similar between this airsoft and my .45, as shown in the pics I uploaded.
Things I Would Have ChangedCast metal parts leave things a bit wobbly as far as tolerences are concerned. Not a fan of the paint on the parts, the barrel shows a lot of wear, and I'm sure if I start doing skirmishes with this gun the outside will wear quickly as well Wooden grips rather than the molded plastic grips, they'd at least ad a bit more weight that it's kinda lacking, plus be WAY better looking. But I'm nitpicking here...
What Others Should KnowBuy LOTS of CO2!!!!!! Your gonna need it!
I LOVE the realism of this gun, the clicks and sounds that it makes, and the over all feel of it. It has some great weight to it, and the blowback action is hard kicking (for an airsoft gun). Over all I'm very impressed with it.
Things I Would Have ChangedI don't know about anyone else, but my safety does not function when the gun is not coked. I cannot put the gun in safe mode, unless I cock it, which I find weird, as all my other airsoft guns do allow for the safety to catch before and after cocking. I also have problems with the CO2 cartridges leaking air.
This weapon although not purchased through this company, I must give it a five star rating. I too believe it is very much like my actual 1911. It was purchased to fit a particular holster, which is part of my WWII Airsoft Battle Gear.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing !
What Others Should KnowAs always, treat this weapon as you would a actual fire arm. Because it has a "Orange Tip" does NOT mean it can NOT be mistaken for a actual firearm at a distance !.
Almost everything, it is super powerful and dead accurate from a substantial distance. The blow-back feature is also really cool.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt uses co2 like it is going out of style. mostly because of the blow-back and how powerful it is, this is not a huge problem (at least to me) but be aware, you will need lots of co2.
What Others Should KnowThere are two buying options for this gun, this one and then another with just the gun and one mag. GET THIS ONE! believe me, you need the extra mags, the co2 is also nice but you will need more. And the bb's are high quality Swiss Arms .25 gram.
The only other thing is that your friends will beg you to use it so look out.
Realistic 1911 experience (minus the heavy recoil and noise loud enough to require hearing protection). Fun to shoot, seemingly pretty accurate too. Blow back is cool and adds realism to the experience. I will be using this to train a friend on range safety and gun handling techniques. Certainly a LOT less expensive than firing the real thing! Happy with this purchase! :)
Things I Would Have ChangedIt would be nice if the CO2 cartridges lasted longer but understandably the blow back feature uses gas more rapidly than a non-blowback gun would.
What Others Should KnowI got about 68 shots out of one CO2 cartridge. I say 'about' because I didn't think to count until after I emptied the cartridge. I BELIEVE I recovered every BB out of my trap/backstop, but a few might have escaped. I can say for certain I got 3 full clips plus a most of the 4th out of it.

Weight, trigger, slide are all dead on. Feels great. I don't 'do' airsoft - I got this gun for drills which aren't practical/safe/economical with 45ACP. Other than the slide stop minor issue below, it's absolutely fantastic.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe slide stop doesn't release by pulling the slide back. I believe the slide stop notch is either cut too far forward, or the slide stop lever should be a smidge bigger to disengage on pullback. This is pretty much the reason I didn't give it a 5.
