Engineered from the ground up to enhance range and accuracy, these Hybrid Slugs from FX combine the most desirable attributes of both standard diabolo-shaped pellets and swaged slugs. According to FX, this results in lighter weight, a higher ballistic coefficient and the ability to be shot out of most PCPs with “massive expansion.”
“The FX Hybrid Slug will revolutionize what an airgun can do,” writes the manufacturer. “The hybrid benefits from the external dimensions of a high ballistic coefficient slug, but has a completely hollow core and deep recessed base, making it light enough to be shot from most PCPs. Its unique shape and extremely low weight, combined with an optimal bearing surface, all for velocities and trajectories that are unparalleled by any other slug or pellet.”
FX has designed the Hybrid Slugs to work well in a wide variety of barrels. Reporting that the Hybrid is actually performing better in their STX pellet liners than slug liners. This makes the Hybrid a good option for other barrel types as well, potentially matching or even outperforming standard diabolo pellets.
Always be mindful of what is beyond and around your target. Because of their high BC, slugs will carry more energy further downrange than pellets. Make sure that your shooting area is safe and that you have a sufficient backstop in place when shooting these projectiles.

Things I would have changed:Offer different diameters, fall right through Sumatra mags, change plastic trays. Offer more slugs or lower price.

Very precise and effective on rodents. Using a Benjamin Marauder pistol, these group within a little over an inch at 25 yards, hand held. We have a marmot invasion every spring and early summer that wrecks our garden. I had been using domed pellets and had too many hits that didn't kill quickly. That kind of varmint control is cruel. With these sligs one shot and they just drop.

What others should know:The point of aim differs significantly from that of pellets. You can't switch between theses slugs and pellets without adjusting your scope.

Anyone know the true caliber of these? Description only says ".22 cal". Are they actually: .216, .217, .218, or? And, as they are (whatever they are) could reasonable 50 yd. accuracy be expected with a stock, regulated, Crossman-barreled Mrod?
they are 5.51mm head size which is .216
What is the bc? The info for the slug just says low bc. Anybody know?
