Pocket Shot Shakespeare Reel w/ 200 lb. Line

The Shakespeare synergy TI 10 says front and rear stainless cone and duel stainless steel pick-up pins. The problem is that the pick up housing (puh) rusts within the first few weeks of use. Very problematic when companies advertise stainless steel on some parts, but say nothing about what the puh is made of.

I use many (100s) of these in programs teaching children and families to fish. I purchased them because I had good experience with a previous version of this same model. This recent model though (black) has given me nothing but trouble. The anti-reverse fails almost immediately and allows for winding backwards. This reverse winding causes string to gather under the take up spool requiring disassembly to repair. This often causes damage to the springs in the take up spool, rendering it useless. Also the take up spool often falls apart while doing this. I have hundreds of these in a unrepairable bin due to this. Also, the handles constantly come loose and need attention, often falling off. For a periodically used reel by an experienced angler, this will work. Beginners will have issues. I would not recommend this reel for the cost.

After buying the Ti20, I will not go back to Zebco. You cant beat price for a smooth and sturdy reel with all the bells and whistles! Wish I would've known about these before. Very easy to use and comes with quality line.

This reel seemed to be sturdy and would be reliable, but the drag adjustment never worked. So, once you through your line out, you could never reel it back in. It was useless. A big disappointment.

need bearings in the right place, there is not a anti-reverse roller bearing nor oscillating spool, I have no desire to use a open bail reel to get quality build in a reel., Baitcasters and underspin are it. Don't mind spending more if you get more,

I Bought this product and right out of the box try to use it and it worked excellent the first eight cast then I went to cast again and it wouldn’t go more than 10 yards I took the case off and can’t find any snags and have no idea what problem is

Total cr@p!!! One cast reel. Total and absolute fail. Worse than Zebco if that is possible.

I keep these reels for the kids and the wife and my buddies that won’t learn to use a bait caster. These reels handled 28 inch trout and 27 inch reds in Baffin Bay last March. Just bought three more to get ready for another trip in March. If you are fastidious about cleaning every time and oiling every three or four times they will last two to three seasons. I keep the factory stren braid and tie on a 20 lb flourocarbon leader for top waters and res pool with braid adding the leader for soft plastics. You won’t be disappointed. Find you a nice light to medium rod and get the grease hot
