Scent Lok BE:1 Reactor Windproof Jacket Mo Terra Gila, Medium

Coming back to do an update on my original review from last year. This jacket has quickly become one of my favorite Scentlok pieces. Combined with the ridge hoodie and or the heated reactor vest, this can carry you from mid to late season with no issues. It is lightweight and packable, something important to me as I easily overheat on hang-and-hunt sets on public ground. I can roll this jacket up and strap it to my pack with minimal bulk. My attached picture shows me in the jacket with this years MD buck!

Was very impressed with the look and feel of this jacket. Also was impressed at the temperatures I used it at. With a layer underneath, 28-30 degrees F was the lowest temps I used it and was very doable! That’s probably the bottom end. High quality jacket!

I have worn this all week in low 20’s with high winds and freezing rain and snow. It’s has really been great. This as well as a thin hoodie has been enough to keep me warm. It fits great and is overall a great jacket. You Can’t beat it! The best part is that it is not bulky at all.

Seriously? Scent control jacket with panels on the arms without any? Head covering, NONE. Skirt at bottom of jacket, none? This is a rip off. I come to scent lock for scent control clothing. What fool designed a jacket with empty stretch panels that will just pour scent out into the woods around you. Not even good as a base layer. Don't buy it.

This jacket has everything I want, and nothing that I don't! It's perfect for standalone when it's 50's and above, and works excellent as an insulating layering piece when it gets colder out. I've worn it under my Voyage jacket down into the 30's and under the Divergent when it gets colder than that. I recently hunted in single digits with a merino base layer, Reactor heated vest, Reactor jacket and Divergent on top and was toasty warm the entire hunt. Can't say enough good things about this jacket! The hood fits great and the additional material on the front really helps to block the wind on your face. I'm 5'11", 215 lbs and an XL fits perfectly.

I was really excited about this jacket but just could not get past the scuba hood design. I really wish I could have just gotten over it but it bothered me that much. Everything else about the jacket is great. I just couldn’t get past the high collar all up in my face, so it was returned. I did keep the vest and should the collar change next year I will buy again.

Serious wind protection. Paired with voyage jacket/bib with thermals. Worked well for mid-November in Kansas (lower 30’s and upper 20’s). If you’re gonna hunt in lower 20’s (and below) with cutting wind, I’d probably go heavier (Divergent or Fortress) - I’ll probably add those to the arsenal next year.

I wore this jacket this past weekend hunting in Iowa. Temps were highs of 33-35 and lows of 25-28, winds were 10-20mph. I paired this jacket with the reactor heated vest, a light base layer and a little bit thicker base layer. I had 0 issues staying in the stand all day. I intended to throw another jacket on over this once in the stand but didn't need to. This thing retained heat well and blocked the wind. The hood is a stretchy fabric but I didn't really wear it. The fit was good. I'm 5'8 185 and a L fit just fine over 3 layers. I tested it with my outer jacket and all 5 layers fit fine together. It's nice a quiet. It stood up to some thorns but it's not something I'd regularly do with it.

Picked this up as a windproof layer. I have to say I am impressed with the performance so far. It really is a light windproof puffer vest (silent all over) with a light sweatshirt in the forearms and hood. Really nice compliment to a layering system. Have used as a stand along shell and under an old Maverick jacket with great success. In the future I would hope Scentlok adds DWR to it.

A windproof layer is exactly what I needed for these cold windy days in Michigan. With the weather being all over the place, I’ve been able to use it as a standalone piece when the weather is 60°+, and it’s thin enough to use as a layering piece when the temps drop. Very happy with the quality and performance so far!
