This is an excellent little knife. The packaging is a bit pretentious, but everything about this knife is good. It's incredibly sharp out of the box, and the lockup is both sturdy and satisfying. I work at a wilderness school and use knives regularly for all sorts of tasks, and this is my new favorite folding knife. Two of my coworkers already bought their own because they liked mine so much. I also love that they come in colors that aren't just black! That was a big selling point for me and for my colleagues. Dropping a blacked-out knife in the leaves at twilight sucks.

Excellent tool for every occasion inside and outside the castle
Good knife, well balanced, and feels good in my hand. I’ve mainly used it for cutting tape on packing so far and it seems to dull easily. I would like more pronounced edges in the thumb ridges on the blade back. I liked the scales of my old Aegis tanto better than this one.

I have this knife in two different colors (this one and rescue red). The rescue red locking mechanism is fine, I liked the old style better personally but this one still works and is pretty secure for most activities including EDC. I wouldn’t have it in my pocket/backpack mountain biking, ski touring, etc though due to fear of inadvertent unlocking. The old style lock seems way more secure and that knife is still my go-to. My big gripe and the reason for 2 stars is because of the two new Aegis knives I have, only 1 securely locks (the rescue red). This one is terrible and now sits on a shelf; the locking mechanism was noticeably looser than the rescue red. So much so that just having it in Jean pockets with nothing else in my pocket, it would unlock inadvertently. Real bummed out because I like this color more than the red, and my original version with the different locking mechanism is really beat up. So basically just feel like I wasted my money on this model; it’s unsafe to EDC. Other than that great knives and the blade is sturdy which is hard to find on knives in this price range. Just wish it locked properly.
