Summit Treestands Viper Pro SD Climbing Treestand, Mossy Oak Elements Terra Camo
Summit Treestands Viper Pro SD Climbing Treestand, Mossy Oak Elements Terra Camo The Summit Viper climbing stand has been the number one climber for decades, and it just got better introducing the Viper Pro SD. The Viper Pro SD features the all-new QUICK DRAW PRO cable system for even faster and easier attachment to the tree. The QUICK DRAW PRO system has comfort grips built in as well as quick-connect triggers that make cable adjustments a breeze. Plus, retention pins in the QUICK DRAW PRO system can be removed to add cable or padlock for theft deterrent while attached to a tree. Next, is the Summit FasTrack system that allows users to easily add Summit Ultimate Hooks, Phone and Rifle Holder to the top frame of the stand. The Summit Viper Pro SD features the same strength and safety systems as the original Viper, such as SummitLOKT joints where all joints are locked into place before welding to reduce stress on the welds; RapidClimb Stirrups designed to keep the climbers boots securely attached to the platform while ascending and descending; and Summits Dead Metal sound dampening technology that fills critical parts of the stand with custom-engineered expanding foam. The Viper Pro SD also incorporates a new one-piece wrap-around armpad that fully covers the front rail and armrests for added comfort and sound-dampening properties. Hunters will recognize the same super-comfortable suspended seat that is now dressed in Mossy Oak Elements TERRA. The aluminum Viper Pro SD weighs in at 22 pounds, will hold up to 300 pounds and will attach to trees 8 to 20 in diameter. SPECIFICATIONS Stand Weight Limit: 300 lbs. 10 of 16 Summit Treestands Viper Pro SD Reviews

I used my father’s viper SD and really liked it. Quiet, simple to use, and comfortable. I wanted to get one of my own and liked the additional features the pro offered. For starters, the rail system on this stand does not work properly. I purchased the rifle holder, bow holder, and accessory hook. None of the accessories lock down properly and come loose easily and can fall off the stand. The next feature that interested me was the new trigger system to release the cables. These would be great if there weren’t the pin that keeps them engaged. When putting the cable around the tree, these pins clank on the stand. It is very comfortable, as is the original Viper climber. If I could go back I would have purchased the regular Viper.

Light, easy to deploy, comfortable, the list goes on. I do not regret my purchase.

This is my first Summit treestand. It was very comfortable to sit in. I do like the fas track system to hang my gear on. I felt very comfortable climbing with this.

I like it got a little more room. Things I don't like is the pins they r noisy. I cut mine off. But over all good climber.

Shipping took forever to get to me. And it arrived dented and scratched. Expensive stand to arrive beat up like that.

Two issues I'm having with this stand. The first is when you put the lower half into the upper, the teeth lock the 2 halves together to where it's extremely difficult to pull them apart. The paint and aluminum are all chewed up after only 2 uses. The second is due to the bend on the upper portion of the stand (which I think is to make the upper more roomy), the cable is very difficult to slide in and out of the tube until you get past the second stop or so. You have to really pull hard which for me makes it difficult to bend the cable inward to keep it centered. Similar to above, the shrink wrap is all torn off after only 2 uses. I have a Viper SD which has neither of this issues. Regretting this purchase unfortunately and would return if I hadn't used it already.

This is the second summit I've owned. The 1st one lasted 20 years. I have seen some complain about the safety pins being noisy. I didn't find that to be the case and to be honest I like the added safety feature of them. It is also quieter than my older stand and climbs very effectively. Threading the seat through for packing was a learning curve for me since my previous stand was a open front. One glitch for me is the notches that go against the tree. After packing in, unlodging the 2 sections can be difficult because the notches catch around the flat metal of the other section. But overall it's easily the best stand I've ever used and packs in and out quite comfortably.

Amazing stand perfect in every way, I’ve already done three all day hunts this year, very comfortable take about a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon,,,, I have two other summit stands one is 25+ years old. It’s open front viper. I’m 62 now and like to sit down climb option is amazing. Would give this 10+ stars but the foot rest and the bow holder. The foot rest is the best 2 1/2 pounds you will ever put on your back if you have a stand by one if you’re getting a new one by one.,,,

I received my new viper pro, but the box was damaged and when i took the stand out of the box, there was some areas that the paint had scratched off. Is there any chance of getting touch up paint sent to me to fix it? Josh Vosters 920-915-8640

I like the stand very light weight very easy and quiet to set up. The only thing I would like to see is the back strap for carrying could tie together
