Description
New from Umarex, the Forge fuses together a classically designed wood stock with innovative breakbarrel technologies.
With a nod to traditional styling, the Forge offers a polished hardwood stock with checkered handholds, elevated cheekpiece and rubberized buttpad. Resting atop this handsome stock is the patent-pending Nucleus Integrated Rail Platform which encases the TNT (Turbo Nitrogen Technology) gas piston chamber. This long Picatinny rail is forged with the action to reduce noise, vibration, and to maintain your scope’s zero.
With a single pump, this airgun can send .177 alloy pellets down range at 1250fps--quieted by Umarex’s SilencAir system’s 5-chamber noise dampener.
If you’re looking for a breakbarrel that looks great, is priced just right, and is loaded with Umarex’s latest developments, choose the Forge!

10 of 23 Umarex Forge Reviews
Open sights! Easy to Cock and Load. Good weight, easy handling maneuverable. Muzzle break/baffle very helpful. ... After unboxing I ran some cotton through the barrel and am VERY pleased with the tight groups.
Things I Would Have ChangedI have not tried the scope yet so I can't comment on it. I can't find anything else to complain about.
What Others Should KnowThe first few shots were with H&N Baracuda Power (copper) 10.65g a decent group all low and to the right. *** without changing anything the next six shots were made with H&N Sport 8.18g wad cutters decent group all high and to the left *** without changing anything else the next 25 shots made with H&N Field Target Trophy 8.64g = RIGHT ON!!! At 50 feet I was able to shoot the centers out of two Birchwood Casey 3" targets ..... I am very impressed.
*** Although the gun was superbly packaged for shipping I noticed the stock screws and the forearm screws were not very tight .. I tightened them up before starting to shoot and they stayed where I put them.
Loudness ?? Actually the first few shots were sharp crack but then down to about the claimed 3 (medium) .. I own six other air rifles and the Forge is par with all of them.
It's an easy rifle to pull the barrel down on so you will want to have a good supply of pellets on hand.
Great little rifle.
The gun is beautiful. The cocking is not as hard as I expected from some reviews. Just use proper leverage.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger. It comes brutally stiff. You can adjust it but it never feels good. Also, I tried to use the scope after 30 rounds it would not hold zero. Wish they would include a scope that worked or just make the gun slightly cheaper.
What Others Should KnowFor the money I feel that this will be a great protector of the garden. Time will tell.
Wood Stock.
Things I Would Have ChangedN/A
What Others Should KnowGreat looking rifle.
Very accurate. I have zeroed in at approximately 15 yards ( the distance from my back door to my retaining wall ). I bought this because my Beeman wasn't very good at taking care of the flying rats in my back yard. Haven't missed one yet with Umarex; 1 shot 1 kill. They don't seem to come around as often
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowYou need to make sure you clean the oil from the barrel for the first time or it will be LOUD, 22 cal loud and I'm not talking 22 pellet loud.
Great rifle for the price. Accurate so far, shooting at 50 feet.
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter scope and mounts.
What Others Should KnowScrews in stock loosen after 5 shots. Tries locktite, it didn't work.
the quality of the Forge is quite well with open sights, the overall quality of the gun is outstanding, easy to cock and load.
Things I Would Have Changedthe scope is not a good one,( i don't know why companies don't put a decent scope in with the package, people would pay little more to get defect in the stock, a small gouge and some stain missing however this didn't affect the overall performance of the rifle. a good scope would go a long ways with improving this package) this was my 1st purchase as an air gunner, I'm 63 i do really like Umarex products ,awesome quality, I will be buying a couple of their products in the future. God bless
What Others Should Knowthis rifle is a bit heavy, not good for young kids unless using a gun rest. and someone cocks the gun for them
have been pleased with the gun overall. I wanted a gas piston break barrel that was mid priced and has a good platform to hold the scope. I'm using it for plinking and it's performing nicely. There was some break in process with deiseling.velocity seems good. Accuracy is good at 20 yards. Scope is decent. I've been using crosman 10 grain dome pellets and it seems to like them alright. I'm getting used to the predictable trigger. If I could move the T06 from the rws 34 I think I would have the ultimate pellet plinker. I like the stock and overall appearance of the gun. I don't know if the moderator makes any difference. It's not too loud. I recommend this gun. It's not so fancy that you don't want to use it. this is my first gas spring gun. The shot cycle is legit much less chaos than my spring guns. It's an enjoyable pellet gun.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wouldn't change this. Just be aware the gun is not a weilraugh or rws but it shoots nice.
What Others Should KnowDuring my break in period I had deiseling and it settled down over a few days. I'm pleased with the cocking effort and very smooth shot cycle. The trigger is very consistent. I can go up to the wall and break off the shot after a few practices.
I like shooting this one. Hold it the same. Shoot the same.
Very accurate. Powerful, about 900 fps with 7.3 grain pellets. Very nice wood stock. Excellent sights plus a scope included. Quiet enough to be backyard friendly. It has a very solid, well-built feel to it.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger pull could be a little lighter.
What Others Should KnowMust use proper technique to get good accuracy, (artillery hold, etc.).
Some people may find it a little heavy, especially if used for carrying around in the field hunting.
Fast shipping as usual from Pyramid Air.
Very nice looking and well built. Heavy and powerful. For the price point I choose this rife do to the research. The scope it comes with is cheep and not worth attempting to zero in. Over all 8 out of 10!! The iron sights where right on and the rail to mount a a scope is nice as well. Well done!!! I choose the 177 cal as a pose to the 22 because the 177 was available and the 22 was on back order. I have some squirrels to deal with. I bought a nice Air rifle scope for it. It is very accurate and powerful out to 30 yards. Love it and love to shoot it.
Things I Would Have ChangedIts way to loud. You think well its a pellet rifle, It cant be loud. Its loud!!

Good weight and balance. Easy to break barrel. Good feel, the cheek piece just right for me. Accurate right out of the box. (I did clean the barrel before any shooting though). Excellent power and, (the main reason I bought it) . . . It works perfectly at zero degrees!
Things I Would Have ChangedMaybe .... a little lighter trigger pull .... but I'm not having any trouble with the factory setting.
What Others Should KnowVery little adjustment needed to get sighted in .. shot three different weights of pellets and my .177 Forge seems to love 8.64g rounded top diablo pellets. ** Have not bothered with the scope because I've been able to hit pennies at 75 feet distance with real consistency just using the open sights!!! That is about the maximum range I'll be using this rifle. Maybe someday I'll scope it but wow this is one of the most accurate little rifles I own. (I'm very pleased) ..... The trigger is adjustable for pull length ONLY not for pull weight! ... I've had no trouble with the trigger maybe because I have not been 'spoiled' using $ 1200.00 rifles. I would say, if you want a pest killer for WINTER use this is the rifle to own.
