Description

The Rekord trigger will spoil you, as it's the standard by which all other triggers are measured. Whether you shoot competitively or hunt game, the extreme control over the trigger's release will give you the extra edge.

Don't forget to pick up a variety of recommended pellets, which are listed in the AMMO link. Select appropriate accessories, including targets and the right scope, by clicking on the ACCESSORIES link.

Helpful resources:

Power, accuracy and dependability. The HW80 has all three. The Monte Carlo beech stock makes it easy to shoot accurately, and the checkered pistol grip and rubber buttpad deliver ultimate control. Hunt, plink or pop paper targets all day long with this spring-piston breakbarrel wonder that changed the airgunning world.

Beautiful rifle, this is actually current production HW80SL with upgraded stock. Imo an excellent value.

I would add sling swivels at the factory a la HW35E to help carry this large heavy rifle comfortably.

Large and heavy with a high cooking force required. This is a hunter not a plinker.

heavy, accurate. had some 18.2 gr barracuda hp pellets @ 30-40 yards slaps tin cans even with factory sights after slight adjustment. nice lock up. hits very hard. my first springer in .22

don't like the factory front sight. ordered a fiber optic one. rifle is a bit pricy but quality usually is.

after the first 30 rounds or so, the 2 trigger guard and the 2 forearm screws became loose. took them out , cleaned them, used blue loctite. put it away til tomorrow to set up. still a great gun. also i paid for the adult signature upon delivery but they just left it with the other stuff when they got to my work. going to take that up with fedx. not PA's fault. only 3 bucks but it was a service i paid for and i did not get. just beware.

I bought this in 0.22 from Pyramyd through Amazon. I love this rifle. It is my most accurate 0.22. The fit and finish are very nice. It now has over 1200 rounds through it, and continues to grow more accurate. I prefer this rifle over all my other 0.22 springers including my Weihrauch HW95 and my Air Arms TX200. It is a bit heavy, but produces more power in the range of 18 to 20 fpe.

Nothing.

This 0.22 prefers different pellets at different distances. Ten shot groupings produce the following center to center results during bench testing. Air Arms Dome Field Heavy 18 gr is from 0.21 to 0.30 inch at 10 yds, H+N Field Target Trophy 5.55mm 14.66 gr is from 0.46 to 0.83 inch at 20 yds, and Gamo Red Fire is from 0.79 to 1.36 inch at 30 yds.

I like the weight I put a Tasco scope on it and $69 air gun scope 3 to 9 power came with rings. I cant believe its a TAC driver Ive got 400 pellets through it and it’s settled down I have a Beeman or one I bought almost 38 years ago I just rebuilt it this is exactly like it except is the 22 the stocks a little different Beeman went all out with the white spacers. Pretty much the same rifle. If pyramid wanted the rifle back I wouldn’t sell it to him there’s no way it was so worth the money if you use them. I Baron DEER HUNT so this is a great gun it’s heavy I love the weight I love the scope weight because it teaches me all through the year to be able offhand shoot. So when I bring my real rifle up to my shoulder I laugh because I have a lot of training I know it’s just a pellet gun it’s not a 338 Lappula but the wait is there and you can train anywhere that’s what I love sign out the Bearhunter

The only thing I would change is I wish America would make these spring guns after rebuilding my R one theres really nothing to him I can’t believe we have not made one since I am also hard to come by for some people this is the best alternative we should make these rifles here that’s what I would change even bigger fatter and better a little fatter gas cylinder may be a 35 mm see what they can do since we don’t have any feet per second restrictions they would push heavier pellets faster just food for thought .

The only thing you should know is if you mess its your fault not the Rifles. So you have to rifle up if you cant do it. And I mean if you cant do Yet by a daisy red Ryder

I have the HW80 in 22 caliber. This is the "Dream Rifle". Mine is extremely accurate, hard hitting, best trigger, very nice stock, precision open sights and has a build quality second to none. My best 5 shot group at 50 yards is 3/4 inch. This is the "King" of Break barrel air rifles.

It could use a top hat, a better fitting spring guide, a little nicer stock with checkering on it. The price is getting too high at $640.00.,I bought mine 2 years ago for $465.00.

Mine shoot many pellets good, CPHP 14.3, CPUM 14.3, JSB 15.89, JSB 18.13 and H&N FTT 14.66 the best. Stop buying cheap break barrel rifles expecting to get great results, it won't happen. You don't need a super magnum springer like a Gamo Magnum, you need balence and precision. SpringPistonRifleFever

You can always take it apart and buy a Vortech spring kit the Vortech four where the spring goes inside a metal tube also bye there silicone impregnated piston seal you’ll notice the difference in feet per second how much smoother action no vibration

This is the most accurate and powerful springer I have shot. I have several cheap springers and there is no comparison.I added a scope simply because I could not see target at 50 yards. Trigger is perfect out of box no adjustment needed.I have not shot past 50 yards yet I expect tight grouping at least to 75 yards

If you want a good air gun dont Cheap out go ahead and spend the money, and do research on what kind of gun you want. Try different pellets, they shoot different in different guns. Always check all screws they will loosen over time

Just opened my package from Pyramid Air 30 minutes ago. After a quick inspection to account for contents and obvious defects I had to take a few minutes to compare the build quality against a Hatsan135 that I happen to have out for a good wipe down. The build quality on my Hatsan is (this particular Hatsan is several years old. The HW-80 is a notch or two better. Joints are tight, all components on the HW-80 look and feel high end. The Hatsan has some nice quality too but not necessarily every component. After inspecting the HW-80 I ran a brand new bore snake through a a cpl of times. No heavy grease or oil noticable. Bore looks very nice. I changes the Aperture Insert to the one with the bead on top of a post grabed some crossman premier domes and headed out the back door. I have some spinners set up at 15yrds for easy plinking. Out of the box this rifle is hitting quater size spinners at 15 yards. The trigger fired so easy that the first shot startled me. The rest dead on.

Nothing really at this point. It is a hefty rifle though but it is pretty much a magnum level rifle .

Not a plinker, I bought this for hunting. I am not sure that most people would be able to shoot 100 rounds consecutively in one sitting. I will update after more use.

Update- Found a few cons on this rifle after putting a scope on and getting a few hundred rounds through it. To be such a fine made rifle why in the heck did they not add grips on the forearm. This rifle is heavy and while carrying it around it becomes difficult to hold on to. No excuse considering the price, certainly a flaw of this model. A good shooter but not a great shooter.....yet. Not as hold sensitive as some but more hold sensitive than my Hatsan 135. Not getting consistent 1 inch groups at 30 yards yet but closing in. Hoping this thing is going through a break-in period
