The SILENTIUM is BSA's latest and most technologically advanced noise reduction system to date. Integrated into the muzzle of each rifle barrel SILENTIUM allows the pellet to pass freely while effectively reducing the majority of noise expansion. This clever new design dissipates significantly more sound than ever before through its internal air chambers, thus suppressing noise expansion up to 82% when compared to standard muzzle report.

10 of 13 BSA Buccaneer SE Air Rifle Reviews
Great shooter, very accurate in .177
Things I Would Have ChangedA bit heavy and the bolt is very tight. Ok for a teenager but not someone under 10.
What Others Should KnowBe aware of two major issues with this gun. 1st, Pyramid Air is NOT a warranty service provider. 2nd, You WILL be sending this gun back to Gamo for Warranty. It will COST YOU shipping to send it back and it will COST YOU a $15.00 "Handling Fee" because that is how cheap Gamo is. This gun has a major valve design flaw. It is made of plastic and it will break, and they know it. You cannot repair this gun on your own. The silencer/moderator is not made to be removed and you cannot take the barrel off even if you wanted to. You have been notified.
Gun shoots great and pretty accurate
Things I Would Have ChangedI would change that the moderator is practically impossible to remove to put your own on.
What Others Should KnowMy gun leaked out of the fill port with only minor use within 1 month. I believe this is because it was marked with a 2013 manufacture date causing seals to fail from age. Customer service was great though and issued a full refund.
I like the look, feel and the quality of this rifle. It is very accurate and quiet. I am in the process of finding out what ammo the rifle prefers. At the moment it is producing nice groups with the heavy ammo. I look forward to breaking this rifle in as it is quiet the pleasure to shoot.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rifle is a little on the heavy side and if I could change anything it would be in the weight category.
What Others Should KnowThis rifle is well worth the price paid. The quality and workmanship is top shelf.
-Great feel when pulling the bolt, compared to the mess of a bolt that comes with the gauntlet -Wood stock is solid and gives the rifle a fantastic feel and weight -Accuracy was very good @ 25 & 50 yards *(Did not test beyond 50 yards) - PA's Deal with a 209$ Hawke Vantage IR 4-12x50mm + high mount UTG scope rings (~15/20$) FOR FREE is simply a deal I cannot pass up! Makes this Rifle go from 399$ to roughly 180$. -Gamo Style magazine works very well and seems to cycle pellets smoothly -As a hand pumper I can say for roughly 55 quality shots, this cylinder is not that bad to fill up while using an Air Venturi/Hill MK4 pump
Things I Would Have Changed-When my first BSA Buccaneer arrived it was leaking from the manometer when I attempted my first fill with my hand pump. While this might be on purpose from the manufacturer, still something that should be noted for the owner. (No mention in the manual that I could find) -Manometer seems to read a little inconsistently up to 1500~1800 psi but catches up and reads alright after this point. -The Integrated Silentium moderator does help reduce noise but might not be enough for backyard plinking in the suburbs. It comes off a touch sharp.
What Others Should KnowSo why did I buy this rifle twice? I felt that the included deal with the Hawke Vantage IR scope made this decision simple. I essentially saw this as buying full price for an absolute gem of a scope and getting the air gun for 180$. Now if this deal wasn't going on would I still buy this rifle? That's a tough question, a great wood stock, good but not perfect bolt, and well above average accuracy to 50 yards bundled together do show this rifle being reasonable at the 399$ price point. As long as this deal is avaible I would suggest you to jump on it before it ends!
This is an amazingly powerful in .25 caliber. Don't let the fps fool you, its a hammer. The trigger that everyone complains about is way better than the say. True it has a lot of pull, but if you go slow it breaks like a .25 lb target trigger. The is pcp built to last. Great wood. Hole in hole accuracy at bench rest and nice shooting stand at 25 yards. All i need for the squirrel woods.
Things I Would Have ChangedI don't like fill probes...but thats me.
What Others Should KnowPeople say this is an entry level air guns, but this is thing is and looks like it should cost way more. Buy it, you'll not be disappoint.
This model is a nice gun at the $299 price point. I have an BSA R10 SE in 22 and (top of line) and this gun in 25. Both guns are fine guns, but this one is about 25% of the cost. So you can expect a few compromises. However, the compromises are quite acceptable. This gun shoulders very well, better than the R10 and is a better field gun being lighter and easy to handle. Without the moderator it is also shorter. It looks nice and is well finished for a gun at this price point, and beech is a good hard wood, unlike poplar or other woods used on low end guns. But it does not have the R10 aesthetics. I like the fact that it has the same pressure gage as the higher end R10. I was able to print all 8 in a penny sized area using JSB 25.39 at 25 yards. I'm still working on loads so ultimate accuracy is perhaps not yet attained. The safety ahead of the trigger is easily set or removed during firing.
Things I Would Have ChangedMany reviewers complain about the plastic Gamo trigger. Actually, it isn't bad at all. With good shooting skills, you can do well with this trigger. I bought a GRT-4G after market trigger to install. As this gun is less expensive, I'm more willing to do modifications than to do the same to the R10, which is super right out of the box. The magazine on the 25 is not nearly as good as those BSA makes for 177 and 22. This must be compromise to use the same overall physical envelope with a bigger pellet. It would be nice if it had sling swivels on it from the factory. Some reviews have complained about the plastic cap on the fill probe area. It snaps nicely into place and closely matches the finish of the gun. The plastic parts (trigger, cap) may be a long term (15+ year) liability. My plan for optimizing: 1) CDT trigger; (2) Huma-Air Regulator, (3) Hatsan air stripper. While not really required, but optimizing this gun is part of my hobby explorations, (4) Sling swivels perhaps
What Others Should KnowReplacing the muzzle brake with a moderator or silencer is a big challenge and done right technically and legally, expense. Don't buy this one if you need a quiet gun. Develop a magazine loading technique wherein the pellets don't fall through to the other side. Don't bother with hollow point pellets, as they will loose velocity too fast. Stick with heavy pellets with good ballistic coefficients and delivery some punch to the target. Don't try to use your R10 fill probe on this gun - - the fill probes are not interchangeable. Doing so, you will blow an O ring off the probe and lodge it in the fill probe hole. Be careful checking pressure - don't look down the barrel, and also insure that the gun is not armed.
This is a true BSA except for the trigger!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe PLASTIC GAMO Trigger is extremely disappointing for a Gun of this Caliber (BSA), a limp first stage and a VERY LONG and VERY MUSHY second stage....there is no telling when the sear will break, shame on you GAMO for selling a otherwise GREAT gun with this substandard springer trigger!
What Others Should KnowThis Rifle is a nice looking rifle as well as chunky and strong, the wood stock is beautiful but the extremely poor substandard trigger lets the BSA name down big time!...Looking Back I am sorry I bought this Rifle and should have rather gone for a TRUE BSA the BSA R-10 MK2 .22 with a MATCH grade trigger!
.22 cal. Really nice quality wood stock and barrel. Very accurate out of the box. No regrets, love this gun. A little pricey, but a great pcp. Easy to fill with my G6 pump. You get what you pay for,and this one is worth it. Glad I have it
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter trigger. Works fine but a little mushy. Not bad but could be improved. Match grade trigger for the price would be nice
What Others Should KnowIf you're considering a .22 pcp, this one's worth looking at. I would by another if I could get a little discount. Very happy with purchase over all
Beautiful accurate smooth gun
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing but gamos customer service
What Others Should KnowLove this gun but after 60 days developed a air leak. Gamo is making me pay for shipping both ways and there customer service was way below par.

Have a friend that owns one of these BSA. That's that'why I bought one. When when the gun arrived I followed the instructions also bought the hand pump The Fill Port on the rifle would not hold air. it leaked badly the gun was bought as a birthday present sad story. The pump also seem to be defective period. It appeared to have a bad check valve every time you pumped would have a suction pulling the handle back down would still recommend pump and rifle. You will get a workout with the pump I highly recommend the company making these products do a better quality control the rifle was solid great wood. Returned for a replacement looking forward to shooting this rifle
Things I Would Have ChangedWould change the breach area very difficult to pull a bore snake through the barrel. The bolt arm little stiff but performs as expected
What Others Should KnowAlways do your research and you will have good results. I've done a lot of business with pyramid air and highly recommend
