10 of 10 Remington Model 777SB Reviews
It looks great, shoots great, and is quiet compared to a my other .177 spring piston rifles. This is my first non-spring powered break barrel and I like it very much. My shooting has been at only 15 yards so far, but after a few hundred pellets shot, I can keep 5 shots within a 1" grouping. Did my best shooting with flat top pellets (wadcutter) at 8.2 grain. This rifle is significantly heavier than the multi-pump pellet guns I had previously been shooting, but that feels like an advantage in holding steady shots.
Things I Would Have ChangedI still enjoy shooting open sights from time to time, but I knew this gun did not have any before purchasing it. I understand this sort of thing keeps the gun more affordable. Yes, scopes are usually more accurate but I like the wide open field of vision with open sights. Decided to buy another gas piston rifle for my collection that has open sights.
What Others Should KnowJust realize this gun needs a scope. If the scope becomes damaged some day, you will need to buy another one. I have learned however that more serious shooters probably have a couple extra older scopes laying around already.
finish
Things I Would Have Changedterrible trigger. Worst on any gun I've ever had. Really hard to break open so not for older shooters, therefore not able to site in & check accuracy.
What Others Should KnowGive pounds needed to cock the gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice quality, very consistent and accurate. Excellent grouping.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would prefer a regular blued finish.
ACCURATE.PACKS A WALLOP
Things I Would Have ChangedNOTHING
I am no where near being an airgun aficionado, just trying to relive my childhood. This rifle is solid in my book. Aesthetically pleasing, nice wood, smooth break cocking, nicely balanced, and relatively accurate for the price point. Nice addition to the collection.
Things I Would Have ChangedLooks to be a stainless steel or nickel plated "paint" or the like versus the real deal on the barrel/hardware. My opinion is do it all the way right and hobbiests will pay premium.
What Others Should KnowNot that I think of.
This is a very smooth shooting springer/gas-ram. I own a few. It is also very quiet and I'm getting 890-900 fps W/H&N sniper Medium 8.5gn. This is the most accurate in mine.
Things I Would Have ChangedNo suprises but the trigger. Long pull and a little unpredictable. I did do the barring fix to mine which helped but still not great. I also changed the scope for a $37.00 one I found on Amazon.
What Others Should KnowIt takes some work to get consistent accuracy with this gun but it does have potential. I love the look and will include pics of mine with the scope upgrade.
Light, wood looks decent, accurate.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger is heavy, and "adjustable" it is not. You can turn the screw any way you like and it's a 12lbs gritty trigger that does the shooter no favors. Pellet picky, but shoots well once the right pellet is found.
What Others Should KnowThe stock scope is a throw away, the trigger is awful, you will spend a lot of time tightening scope mount and stock screws due to the vibration. That said, it looks good and puts pellets on target regularly. And balances well for offhand shooting. If Crosman would just stop giving us bad triggers, and use some lock washers in their screws I think they would really help us out.
Everything,except scope.witch is worthless
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowBy barrel was not centered in stock at front, was worried, but all was good,my most accurate break barrel.i recommend it.
liked every thing
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should Knowfired 250 rds day I got it found the pellet it liked at 10 yds could get one hole group from rest love it.

On time delivery as always with Pyramyd Air. The Remington 777sb is nicely built and solid. Not heavy considering the wood stock. I have synthetics that are far heavier than this rifle. Easy to cock due to not being a Magnum springer. Decent trigger for price range. Wish I could add some shot input info for you but I just took this gun out of the box as of this review. However I did shoot it and it definitely seems to hit with authority using .177 JSB 16 grain dome pellet.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe wood stock is what you pay for and nothing to write home about. The housing, breech and barrel are not what I pictured it to be. I thought it was going to be a nice shiny nickel plated. No! It's all painted on grey paint. Just looks very cheap. I will be sanding down at least the barrel and changing to black.
What Others Should KnowNot sure but I think I may have actually bought the last one? This was the last one they had in stock when I got it and usually the site will show a photo with pre order. They are not even showing it now so it may have been discontinued?
