Can We Hit The Pause Button?
Can you believe we are only seventy-five years away from the year 2100? You know what that says to me? Time flies when you’re having fun. I must have been having a lot of fun because 2024 seems like it just began and now it’s over! Can we hit the pause button please, I need to take a breath!
Over the last year you and I had a lot of conversations. We spoke about Turning Over A New Leaf because the new year is a great time to do that. You should be giving yourself a kickstart on some goals you’d like to accomplish over the next year.
If we’re honest we don’t usually give ourselves the entire year to accomplish our goals and that may be the reason most New Years’ Resolutions aren’t accomplished. There’s an equal amount of drive and push as there should be patience and endurance. Keep pressing until you’ve reached your goal, even if your goal for 2024 doesn’t get accomplished until 2025.
The Bow Bully Can Be Corrected
You guys have taught me the truth about the History of a crossbow. I was sure the crossbow came from a gun and a bow coming together and having children! I was way off and you didn’t just read on and leave me believing a lie, you took the time to correct my miseducation and that’s love! Thank you for bringing me some of your wisdom so I can choose the truth over lies in my Best Sellers! Who Decides That?
Hank has been extremely helpful to share his tips on how he makes his own XMas Arrows for backyard arrow slinging. He uses varying layers of christmas wrapping paper which also defines the spine of the arrow in the comments of the There’s Only One Kind of Arrow. He also shared his experience with a self bow hunt, one he made on his own, (he is a very handy man), on my Bear Archery Whitetail Max, Sharing May Not Be Right! Hearing from Hank is always a compliment to The Bow Bully Blogs.
You guys stuck with me from the unboxing of the Killer Instinct SWAT X1 Crossbow and encouraged me on my hopeful harvest with it, I say hopeful because I have not had success with it. I appreciate your continued encouragement and like I said in the Killer Instinct Fatal X Moving In if I have success you’ll hear about it here!
Prepared For Anything
What about equipment? You remember the time we had the conversation about helpful tools in the HME Multi-tools Keep You Prepared blog? Equipment and terrain can create unpredictable situations, it is always a good thing to be prepared for just about anything!
I could appreciate Ed’s perspective on what success is to him in the comment section of Why Can’t We Be Friends? Just because we all have different perspectives doesn’t mean they’re all wrong, nor does it mean they’re all right. I could agree with Ed that hunting is not just about the harvest when he said;
“For me, success is getting out into the woods, smelling the scent of the damp soil and leaves, watching birds, chipmunks, rabbits and squirrels all doing their own thing. You see, I use the excuse of hunting to motivate myself. Being in a wheelchair means I have to depend on others for part of my hunt. My “places to hunt” are limited. So, my prep has more to do with the logistics than it does equipment.
As long as my bow is sighted in (which it is), I am happy. If I am gifted with an opportunity, I feel I owe it to the deer to make a humane kill. But as I said,, the shot and the kill really have no place in my definition of success.
Like you said,, “perspective is everything”.”
Welcome 2025
It’s been a great year here with you guys! And though I most likely won’t be around to see the year 2100 enter the books, I am thankful to have been here with you guys through 2024 and gladly welcome 2025 as long as I get to meet here with you guys on a weekly basis. Again, I have three words for you, Happy New Year!
