Nice build quality. A couple minor finishing flaws on the battery cap, otherwise perfectly finished. I have no experience with higher end scopes, but from my limited perspective, the optics are great. I can clearly see my target at any magnification. I wasn't looking for an illuminated reticle, but have found it handy for mounting and sighting in in my dark basement. The adjustable objective, windage and elevation turrets, and IR controls all operate firmly and smoothly and give this scope a surprising high quality feel.
Things I would have changed:I'd prefer a mil dot reticle, over the TAG reticle, for air rifle shooting.
What others should know:With a mil dot reticle, you can use known velocity and ballistic coefficient information to determine where a pellet will hit at a known distance. The TAG reticle can be useful once you've figured out how your airgun's pellet trajectory relates to it, but it seems to me the only way to do this is through trial and error. If you don't have chronograph and ballistic coefficient data for your set up, this probably won't be an issue for you.

The iluminated reticle with brightness settings is functional/useful against a black bullseye. Windage and elevation are easy to adjust without tools. Glass is quite clear for how cheap this is.
Things I would have changed:This is only good as a fixed magnification (the one you sighted it in at). As you adjust the zoom, the POI moves. Slightly left right but not by much. Much more importantly, very roughly 20 MOA up and down (once I saw how bad it was, I stopped taking the measurements seriously... I planned to return it). And the POI moves DOWN as you move to higher magnification, meaning you can't even use it as a sort of drop compensation. I used a laser sight to take human error out of my measurements of the influence of the scope on poi, but my groups also make this error obvious. Something else I noticed, but I'm not certain of. It appears that parallax isn't always zero when the target is in focus (check weld variation lead to little cluster groups that were not close to each other from group to group). Also, at least on the example I have, the reticle occasionally becomes double for a few shots, then comes back in focus (without changing the diopter setting). This is on a PC.
What others should know:I suspect that there are cheaper scopes that are just as good/bad as this one. I am hopeful that spending a tiny bit more will get me a better scope.
