This is a quality machined piece and it's these little Crossman guns perfectly. No more wobbly barrels or sloppy action. Awesome upgrade on my budget build 2289.

If I had to pick on something it would be the quality of the allen wrenches. Do not expect to tighten things up or get them apart properly with this garbage. Go get a nice pair at the hardware store or better yet order a quality set of gunsmithing tools from Pyramid! Also should be $25, Crossman!

Unless you're just doing general plinking with these guns, this should be standard from Crossman in my opinion. It's worth the money if you're on the I consider this almost a mandatory upgrade. Definitely go this way if you want to add an optic.
It is way better than using the clamp-on barrel mounts I have used them in the past with great success, but this is by far a step up.

I like the fact that they don't reply to my ignorant email telling me what an a hole I am. It's clearly stated in the part description that I will have to purchase a new rear sight and gives the part #. I should have read it thoroughly and checked the prices before ordering.

Read the description well. The rear site will no longer fit and the replacement that does fit costs $59.99 Part # CR-2300-010[PY-A-4385]. With the shipping I selected it cost me $73.53 to get the rear sight in addition to the cost of the part $44.99 and the cost for installation $25. A total of $143.53

All metal action.. will hold up for years.. better then the plastic one that comes with the gun. Love it so far.

its not cheap but I think its worth every penny (replacement isn't plastic) crosman makes a good gun have had 1 all my life

It's an awesome addition to most any small arms that do t ha e it already and need it if gonna scope your small arms as well.

Is a quality product and easy to install. Could be added by the manufacturer but they make the guns the way they make em.

Great upgrade. A sight can be put on. Easy to install.

I would snug up the cap over the hammer spring a bit.

I paid the $25 to have mine installed and it came loose. On 10 pumps out of the box, it shot 135fps. After being properly installed, she shot 13.43gr jsb diablos @460fps

Love the steel breech. Want more parts to check out. Gonna start a video blog about 1322 and 2240 which is my next purchase to up grade. Can't wait to start a new rebuild.

Improvement to the original 2240, Solid and rail top to mount new rear sight ect...

Mine did not come with Allen/hex tools and with the many sets and throw aways I have not a single .050. have to buy a set with an .050, $11 no big deal but had everything ready to upgrade. I will update after the tools arrive.

Instructions could be a bit more geared for a newbie without a lot of prior knowledge of "how to". That said there are many instructional videos out there and be sure to use good lighting before you start.

I wish it came with a rear sight that could be screwed into the existing screw in the rear of the gun .

That little breach screw and the air valve are real punks. Used a piece of plastic bag to seal between the barrel and the ledge on the valve. Dont know if it was really needed, but...

I ordered two of these, one for model 1377, and one for model 1322, nether has been delivered, much longer than the two weeks. This and having to pay shipping might cause me to reconsider ordering from Pyramid in future. If they don't come soon, I may have to ask for a refund?

The steel breech secures tightly to the pump pistol and provides a solid base to mount a scope.

If the breech screw is in too deep, it will create a small well which can cause the pellets to get caught while loading. It's a common problem with easy solutions and work around which can be found online. I thought people should be aware of this potential problem when installing the steel breech yourself. I am deducting 2 star for this issue as it's a very common complaint and crosman have yet to address this issue. The steel breech should come stock with the pistol.

Be extra careful when screwing the small breech screw, it gets stripped rather easily.
