    Things I liked:

First I bought the wire reticle version of this scope and I liked it a lot except for the fat reticle wire and all its fat mil dots. So I bought this etched version hoping the reticle would be better, and it is soooo much better than I expected! This is basically a fine wire reticle, and they should advertise that. Kinda hard to measure but my estimate is the wire reticle is 4-5 times wider than the etched one. Rather than nine dots per leg, every other one is a hash, so from center there's a hash, then a dot etc. So four dots and five hashes per, much nicer! The etched also looks much better when illuminated. The light is at an angle so it casts a shadow on the edge of the wire reticle and its dots, but this etched reticle is perfecly and cleanly lit. Plus only the center thin portion of the reticle is lit so it's a floating X in the center which looks much cooler. This is obviously much better than the wire version, but when side by side this one makes the wire look embarassing.

    Things I would have changed:

Wish I had bought this before wasting $ on two metal wire reticle versions of this scope... The illumination is still way too bright (imo) and the current dimmest setting should be the brightest and go down from there. All the colors are useless imo except red, maybe green, but doesn't matter b/c they're far too bright to use at night which is the only use I'd have for it. I think one button for on/off, maybe a second or switch for red/green, and a dial for brightness that goes all the way to nothing. The side parallax knob has a bit of play in it. Not a big deal but it would be nice if it were tight and thus more precision.

    What others should know:

The only real bummer about this scope is it has spoiled me and made most of my other scopes unsat in comparo, so it looks like I may have to spend a ton of $ to replace a lot of scopes.....

    Things I liked:

Compact 11 inches long , light at 22 ounces , glass etched reticle , fair price . Works well on my Sumatra 2500 in 25 caliber with a one piece BKL scope mount.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing as of yet , its a great scope.

    What others should know:

Easy to sight in no drama . A great choice for anyone who wants a premier compact scope and wants to keep the weight down.

    Things I liked:

The clarity of the lens, the etched glass reticle. It is compact and the side focus is nice. I like blue so the 36 colors is handy for me. I mounted this on my .22 Kral with one piece BKL mount and it looks as great as it shoots.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

If you want an etched glass scope and do not want to take out a second mortgage on your house then this is it.

    Things I liked:

Excellent scope for the money. Short and compact. Not the best glass but very good. I have these on 3 rifles. Just be sure to get this one and not the less expensive one that looks just like it. The difference is the reticle, this one is much thinner and better for accurate aiming.

    Things I would have changed:

Turret locking knobs can/will change zero your zero when you tighten them. I don't use them. They should fix this.

    What others should know:

There are add on large focus wheels available for this scope. They're worth it.

    Things I liked:

Clarity at all magnifications is excellent. The build quality of this scope is excellent. The etched glass reticle is outstanding. It's a nice compact size.

    Things I would have changed:

More consistent quality control. I tried one of these scopes about a year ago, and it had only fair clarity beyond 10x magnification. It also had a very finicky sight picture. This new scope that I got is like a whole different scope. I'm glad that I tried another one. I do still wish the built-in sunshade was at least an inch longer.

    What others should know:

This is an outstanding, well-built, very clear scope for the money.

    Things I liked:

Clarity and ease of use. Better scope than what prices would indicate. Have a 22 springer with some kick, and scope holds up great. Love etched reticle much more durable than wire reticles.can hit a dime at 30,and like I said have a springer. Someday when this poor man can afford an Mrod the results should be nothing short of spectacular with this scope.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not a thing

    What others should know:

Not much more to say other than quality is top notch just like pyramid and their staff! Seriously no regrets.

    Things I liked:

So good and thoroughly excellent value for its budget price. Short. Sharp. Bright. Solid. Parallax ring allows focus of target and reticle for person with slight short sight and no accommodation (ie an older shooter) Adjustments and zeroing turrets are crisp so far. Leapers mounts are also very good for the price. I needed a springer airgun rated scope. Had good experience with a second hand Leapers 4-16x previously but this one is sharper and tighter all over. Good mag range - same as another scope I've got. Mounted on Norinco JW15 .22LR. (copy of Brno) Used UTG medium mounts and the height is good, clears bolt handle nicely.

    Things I would have changed:

Reticle has far too wide a dotty part. Too many mildots (10 each side) and alternating dots and hashes; more isn't better as I can't count them or use them. In effect, this is a plain fine crosshair reticle Reticles are personal but for me I would like only 5 mildots each side and very thick outer posts (like S&B P3 reticle). Even better would be quite a narrow opening of fine crosshhairs say only 1 mRad each side above and below with no dots. (ie a duplex). This would be easier to use for dark targets. Needs to have an option to buy with airgun rail mounts, not just picatinny. A revolution indicator or zero stop could be useful (but more expensive) or better still have 1/2 MOA adjustments and twice the MOA per turn. I don't know if Leapers could make a first focal plane scope ? I guess we'd have to pay more for it but it could be worth it. They are much easier to use for field target. A mRad adjustment (1cm/100m) would extend its appeal beyond the USA.

    What others should know:

The Leapers mounts on my airgun did allow the scope to move forward , which I fixed by removing the fibrous padding inside hem with acetone. This was a full size 4-16x56 on a TX200 HC in .22. No trouble at all since. My older 4-16x Leapers suffers from flare when looking towards a bright area like the evening horizon. Perhaps due to the angled integral metal sunshade, this 3-12x44 seems quite a bit better - good on you UTG. If mounting over an open action like a .22LR you will have no leeway to adjust eye relief (due to the very compact length). I could, fortunately, adjust my stock length.

    Things I liked:

Big, bright optics - nice bright scope. Good looking, looks nice on the gun. Side wheel focus works good, I really like that feature. Lighted reticle goes from bright to dimmer with many colors(I only use green and red) - I can quickly choose what is best for me. Plenty of scope adjustment, and it easy to zero in. Good magnification for long distance shooting. No problems with scope so far.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing noted yet.

    What others should know:

Mounted this scope on a tuned Weihrauch HW-77 rifle in .177 caliber. Scope was easy to sight in and seemed to adjust properly. This scope has plenty of adjustment which I needed. Nice magnification, which is something I'm not used to, but I am quickly learning the advantages of seeing the target "real big". The lighted reticle in different colors help me to see them against the target much better than black under many conditions. I shoot at night on a lighted range and the red and green crosshairs are a big plus. Also, the crosshairs are thin for more precise crosshair placement. I've shot my best groups with this scope, both at 25 and 50 yards. I have bad eyesight and wear glasses for reading. I prefer to shoot without my glasses and I can adjust the reticle and the objective until it's crystal clear for me. Being able to shoot without wearing my glasses is a lot of fun. The side focus is great(with 60mm wheel), and easy to use. Turret adjustments are equally as easy.

    Things I liked:

how much better of a scope you can really get for 50 to 70 dollars more....i mean i am floored !!!, and not just in the quality of the scope, which i can't even believe it's so hot...but that i didn't even know they made sidewheel scopes for lefties, or people that shoot left by eye dominance, but i ordered the big side wheel to go with it, and figured i would reach over the scope... i mean Pyramyd Air Totally Rocks !!!. serious...i asked a question about handedness on one of the other scopes here, ( can't even remember which one ), anyway so i test fitted the wheel on the windage and it fit so i set down the scope and put the rings on my rail....I WISH YOU GUYS COULD HAVE SEEN THE GLEE ON MY FACE WHEN I REALIZED I HAD THE WHEEL ON THE WINDAGE !!!! ....ZOH-MAUG-OSH !!! Pyramyd Air customer for life here.....but if you shoot left, don't think your going to be lucky enough that they will catch that every time, so specify.

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

The build quality of this scope is excellent. The etched glass reticle is outstanding. It's a nice compact size.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope really isn't all that clear at 11x or 12x, and the edges are blurry at most magnifications. Also, your eye must be in the absolute perfect position in order to have a complete sight picture. (This might be because this is a compact scope - I don't know.) The rear flip up lens cover does not stay on the scope. When you try to flip it up, it comes completely off the scope. The built-in sunshade is so short, that it's just about worthless.

    What others should know:

If you are looking for a compact scope up to 10x, this is a nice scope. Although, I probably would not buy this again, because of the finicky sight picture.

    Things I liked:

I liked everything about this scope, well could have done without the illumination but what the heck. It could come in handy taking care of early morning predators coming for my chickens.

    Things I would have changed:

They should have a quick written guide on how to use the illuminated colors. I believe it has a memory to your last used choice but messing with it couldn't figure out how to get yellow. Would have looked up how to use on internet but can't keep the scope.

    What others should know:

Being a compact you need a short stock. My Walther Talon, or the Hatsan 125 has a long shoulder of stock. My gun has forward position and rear position for mounting weaver rings. Being a compact scope in the rear position and moving the scope back the 1/4 inch of play it has in rings was still nearly 2 inches short of good eye relief. I called Pyramyd to see if there was anything we could do to get me maybe an inch and they told me straight up just return it and get another scope. I deal with that another day but great customer service and am sure the return and replacement will go smoothly.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

Overall construction is solid, glass is reasonably clear for the price range, features and adjustments are tight and solid, reticle is outstanding in daylight.

    Things I would have changed:

this scope has a glass etched reticle which is great, but the illuminated feature is worthless in the dark due to the halo produced around the reticle. It is; however, very usable in conjunction with a decent light. I think I would get the wire reticle version if a lot of night shooting is required of the scope. Also, the fast focus feature is loose enough to cause parallax issues if you wiggle it from side to side. This is easily fixable by dropping an appropriate size o-ring behind the ocular adjustment any tightening the ocular ring down to the o-ring. This keeps it centered.

    What others should know:

Good scope, worth the money for knock around optics, wouldn't trust it on a rifle that was dedicated for personal defense or long range hunting. Spend some money for those applications.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Good clear optics even at full magnification, mil dot reticle easy to see and use, side wheel focus/parallax adjust with ranges spot on, and the etched glass reticle can't break or move inside the scope, even with the pounding from a spring powered air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

The compact size fits my RWS 460 and 54 without blocking the breech, wish they would make scopes this overall length in 4-16, 6-24, 8-32 etc

    What others should know:

You will not find a better scope at this price that will last on a heavy recoil spring powered air rifle. I have 2 of these 3-12X44 and a fixed magnification 10X50 for my .25 cal. I wouldn't hesitate to get another leapers on any that I buy in the future.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

I am a long time .22 rifle shooter. I put this scope on a Beeman R9 and the first three shots at 35 yards was a clover leaf single hole about four inches low. With this kind of clarity and accuracy both of gun and scope it only took another four shots to walk the point of impact to the dime sized red dot. Using my shooting cross sticks I put another one hole clover leaf group at 53 yards holding on the second mil dot up. Darn!!! And I have shot this rifle less than 50 rounds. The clarity of the scope is equal with some very high dollar scopes I own. I like the reticle just fine and with a bit of practice and memory what mil dot for what range will soon be second nature. As for the fancy multi-color reticle not just everyone can say, look I have a purple reticle. Oh the side parallax is great, I just turn it while looking at whatever and when it clears up, safety off and fire.

    Things I would have changed:

All things cannot be all good, human engineering always fails. Such as on this with the adjustable eye piece ocular. It took like four shots till I noticed the eye focus ring had walked a quarter turn, it especially walks with the weight of the scope flip cover on it. There is no set screw or ring and it does walk around when fired on a spring gun. So I robbed a large O'ring out of a faucet repair kit and slipped that into the space between the eye piece and the scope body, works like a charm. I do expect royalties. I would not change anything, this is a grand scope.

    What others should know:

Nice clear scope. Easy to use and mount. If you cannot hit with this one it is not the scope or the rifle. Lots of light and very quick to find the target in this one.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

bought this scope to replace the bundled one that came with my RWS 54 (recoil broke the wire reticle in 2 days). This one has an etched glass reticle , easily adjustable focus/ paralax adjustment on the side wheel, and very good calrity throughout the magnification range. On my RWS 54 zero'd in at 35yds 1/4" patterns are possible. At 50yds, you can hone in and knock the center out of a nickle sized target with a little practice.

    Things I would have changed:

36 colors of illumination are not necessary for me. I would have preferred fibre optic illumination of the reticle, like my acog has, to eliminate the need for a battery. Also for the next one, I may go for a 6-24X just to make those longer shots more consistant.

    What others should know:

Accuracy is everything. The bitterness of poor quality will be tasted long after the sweet taste of a low price has faded away. A good optic is an investment. For years of enjoyment, get something that works time and time again.

    What others should know:

If you have a trail NP2 and you have high cheek bones, you want the "Low" scope rings. NOTE when you are ajusting the scope for eye relief, put a T-shirt on. then when you are wearing a heavy coat, you can still see the target.

    Things I liked:

This scope comes with a glass etched mil-dot which is smaller than the wire reticle.

    Things I would have changed:

Quality of glass etched 30 mm scope tube not on par with the leapers 1 inch tube.

    What others should know:

This is my fourth Leapers scope to include 3x9x40, 4x16x50 and 3x9x32 bug buster. All three scope can withstand the punishment of thousands of rounds from RWS and HW spring piston Air Rifles. Having no problem with my other leapers scope. I ordered the 3x12x44 with glass etched mil-dot. This scope did'nt last to a 1000 round before the reticle started twisting after each shot. Stay away from this model if you are using magnum powered spring piston AR. Compared to my other leapers. My rws48 .22 with 3x9x40 has over 4500 rounds, rws52.177 with 4x16x50 over 6000, and my rws34 .22 over 2000 rounds. Im replacing this scope with the full size Leapers 3-12x44 SWAT Accushot. Hopefully this model is as durable as the other wire reticled leapers scope.
