Air Venturi Avenger Reviews

I bought this Avenger .22 a week ago and its pretty good (save for one bad exception). Running at 1800 psi with 1.5 to 2.00 HS using FX 15.89 domed pellets. I easily managed 3/4" to 1" groups at 25 yards using my $25.00 Pinty Green/Red dot sight. I added a 3D printed second barrel from Ebay. Bought the $500 Air Venturi compressor which makes filling a snap. IMO, the Avenger really does not make much noise and decided against needing to buy a DonnyFl Tanto and adapter. Besides, the Tanto would have made the rifle really looooong ..

The gun is a bit long and heavy for my slim frame. My my biggest beef is that I suffer (among others) from the dreaded "regulator creep". I can set the regulator at 1800 psi and a few hours later it creeps up to 2200+. Sure, you can dry fire it a few times to bring it back to down for a bit but as soon as you stop shooting, back up it goes. Yes, even when indoor and outdoor temps are the same. This is BAD news when your hunting having to make noisy dry fires and also when your running out the back door (gun loaded and ready to go) ready to shoot something.This sucks. TAlso, the Avenger magazines are just fair. I tried the Crossman ICON magazines, they are far superior. to the Avenger ones in every respect.

I paid for the 10 for 10 test and 24 hour leak test.So far out of the box it does not leak. Am buying a Diana StormRider to see how that goes and obviously NOT adding a regulator! Maybe I'll use the StormRider for hunting (2 lbs lighter and 2" shorter) and the Avenger for target/tuna can shooting.

Light weight, very accurate, mine likes JSB MKll's 33.9 gn, the Magazines work great, I also bought the 13 rd extra capacity mags, they work great, very nice side lever action, trigger is adjustable but it was perfect out of the box, easy to set the regulator and to get to the Air bleed screw, Fosters fitting for air fill, Picatinny and Dove tail rails on top, Picatinny rail for bipod, sling holes, easy to read gauges for both high side and low side pressures, it a great gun for a cheap price, I bought a Refurb, it was missing the Baffle, I made one on the 3D printer, got it from thingyverse.com

I'm going to Bottle this beast, 500cc carbon fiber bottle.... should give it a couple hundred shots at 4500psi

the Air Venturi 13rd magazines fit, just watch your ring height, I use mediums and it squeeks in, it has a 6k burst disk, it's got a bark to it, but not real bad, lots of Moderator Baffles on the web to 3D print, the one I found works good, just need to modify the hole for .25 cal to 8mm, I imported it from Thingyverse to my downloads then to tinkercad and modified the hole to 8mm, note in slicer flip 180 Muzzle end down, no support..... ;)

I LIKE IT!!!! Now if I could only stop my heart. 100feet or 30.8 meters shooting at a 50ft ,22 rifle target you can cover 10 consecutive shots with a quarter consistently. Like I said if I could only stop my heart I think I could get a tighter group. I can see the crosshairs move so I blame the "large" grouping on the jiggling caused by my heart beat and what my father would call a gas shot. Maybe a better scope?? Probably just see the heart jump more.

My trigger sear adjustment must be installed to NOT move. I stripped the head trying to get it to turn. I shoot target pistol and I'd like a little more sensitivity.

Does not come with a scope. The pressure gauges are not labeled.

OMG, I am so impressed with this rifle. It came ready to shoot, except for a scope which I had on hand. Mounted the scope and was on-target with less than 10 shots. Look, feel and performance are amazing for this price.

My rifle came with two magazines and a single-shot loading tray; all bonuses in my assessment.

New to the PCP game and the Avenger is a pleasant rifle for starting out. Being new I opted to have PA perform the Pro tune. The pro tune seems to be worth the money. The SD that came with the rifle was 4.0. Accuracy is excellent, but it does seem to be pellet-picky. At this point, H&N barracuda hunters did well at 25 yards (< 1/2" outside-outside ) and H&N barracuda did well at 45 yards (7/8" outside-outside). If you want the adjusted group size, subtract 0.249" from both. The trigger pull weight is ok but creepy. I have not tried adjusting yet. Haven't had any leaking issues yet. Noise is not a problem, not near as load as low-velocity 22lr. Overall for the price, I am happy with it.

Would be nice to have a little wider opening for loading a single-shot pellet. Bigger hands and fingers can be a problem. Larger capacity tank upgrade.

If you are coming from other rifle shooting disciplines, it feels like you are bench shooting a scoped over-under shotgun. PCP has a tall feel due to the tank under the barrel, and the added scope height makes the ergonomics a little weird at first.

I really like this gun. After watching the videos on how to tune and setup the Avenger, I am even more impressed.

I'm not sure I would change anything? Redesign the barrel band, so the barrel free floats.

I would purchase the package deal with the Hawke scope

So adjustable , has no problem with pellets too heavy for my springer, or my nitro piston, got the slug magazine which will take the 25 grain monster, too long to fit regular magazines that come with the gun. I do have an electrical pump to 300 bar

Include an option for a good scope, I used my utg 4x12x 40 tru hunter scope, I had on my nitro piston. Never mounted the scope that came with that gun on it

If you’re thinking about getting a pcp, this is it, most other pcp in this price category have fixed regulators 1200 for 22 cal. 1900 for 25 cal. I’m running 2100 on a 22 cal with no difference in poi from 18 gr pellet and 25+ gr pellet amazing at 25 yards, end up with a larger hole all the pellets passed through , no flyers

swapped out the oem stock for a-tac aftermarket by dana drake. you can find him on ebay. the accuracy improvement is astounding and p.o.i. change is non existant. i know that's a bold statement, but true. sadly my gun hates slugs {or it's my tune} but pigeons and crows are dead meat out to 70 yds. i love this Chinese appleknocker in 22 cal

Accuracy, ease in mounting scope and sling

I am sure it’s as light as possible, but I would like even lighter.

I ordered the synthetic stock because it was listed as a little lighter than the wood. I mounted a scope and my first shot at 10 yards was low and to the right. I adjusted the scope and my second shot was dead center, and for the next 10 shots perfect. It didn’t take but about 5 minutes to charge to 4000 from 1000 on my Nomad II.

Solid piece. My first PCP air rifle. Bought it so I can take out iguanas over running the golf course. This will definitely do the trick.

A little on the heavy side but being that it is built to hold alot of air, enabling the shooter to got off repeated shots before the target scrambles is really nice.

If you're lloking for a first time PCP air rifle, the Air Venturi Avenger definitely does not disappoint.

This is my first PCP and absolutely love it. Did some research before buying and glad I chose this one. Very easy to operate very accurate right out of the box. Great rifle would recommend to new and experienced shooters

Maybe having the hole for the hammer spring adjustment a little larger so I could see where to actually put the hex head tool instead of fumbling around

Mine (.22) really seems to like jsb exact jumbo heavy18.13 grain pellets h&m 21 Grain round head pellets h&m 21 Grain slugs so far NSA slugs work well although they are kind of a tight fit in the breach

I wouldn't change a thing on the gun or Pyramyd.

I don't know why anyone would even purchase anything else from some other place. This Avenger is the best for the money.

Gun started losing pressure with minimal usage. It seemed like a great value for the money before it broke, but it is useless now.

Very good and accurate air rifle. Price on refurbished one made it nicer.

Nothing I can think of.

I purchased a refurbished one and at first I thought I made a mistake. It was not accurate with any ammo I had. After shooting about 200 rounds through it, it started to tighten groups pretty well. It shoots very good now with Air Arms 10.3 grain round nose and I can get 5 shots in one ragged hole at 30 yds. Also FX 10.3 grains shoot just as well. I use a hand pump to fill to 3000 psi and the regulator is set at about 1800 psi hammer spring one turn in and I get about 60 good shots before hitting the reg. Hand pump is easy to fill to 3000 psi and no need to go higher. I work on my own air rifles so I wasn't worried about a warranty but if you want the coverage, purchase a new one.

You can adjust many things so you can adapt it to many different scenarios different pellets or slugs , I got 50 shots per fill that is really good

More readable pressure gauge

It shot well from the box. We like the side lever and the safety. The way the magazine clips in place.

We found that the single shot tray did not stay in place when moving around and we had to reseat several times. No problem with the rotary magazine it clipped into place and stayed there.

It's a good gun.
