Things I liked:

I'm really impressed with this pellet gun. It's great looking, the scope is OK, it's quieter than my Beeman and my Benjamin.. I set up some 2/6 boards and drew some ink spots on them. I got back about 50-60', after a dozen shots or so I had it dialed in and shooting dime sized groups. And man,the hard hitting power, it buries these hollow point inexpensive lead pellets deep into the wood. And the gun is inexpensive.

Things I would have changed:

It's not easy to cock, but I'm old.

What others should know:

A great value, from entry level to pro, this is a fun accurate inexpensive quality gun.

Things I liked:

Light weight balance good a little overated on speed more like 1050 with lead pellets a little disappointed

Things I would have changed:

Make sure that lead pellets work at speeds as well as allowy pellets do or. Boost pressure. Still like my blitz

What others should know:

The scope takes a while to adjust still don't have it dialed in yet still 5 inches of center

    Things I liked:

A nice handling .177 break-barrel, gas piston rifle. Holds a dime-size group at 50 ft (squirrel distance) once the proper pellet is found. It settled down after about 100 shots and the cocking became easier. Good value for the money and good for plinking and light pest control.

    Things I would have changed:

I'm not out to win the Olympics so there's not much I would change at this price and performance point.

    What others should know:

If you look around at any air rifle review, you'll see that each gun is sensitive to the pellets used. I sighted in the Whisper using H+N hollow points at 50 ft (not yards) and will see what happens at 100 ft. My other UX .177 groups tightly with RWS wad cutters, and a 3rd rifle loves the JBS Match pellets. That's part of the fun, getting to know your equipment.

    Things I liked:

Actually a great little rifle for the price. Reasonably accurate if you do your part (read below). Should be able to hold 2 inch groups at 50 yards with enough velocity to humanely dispatch small to medium pests. As always, shot placement is key.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope that comes with the rifle is not great. I immediately gave it to my child to pretend to be a pirate. Any name brand 22mag type scope would work - I opted for a 4x32 Simmons which ran $35. The trigger is also not fantastic, but workable. This will never be an ultra precise weapon, but is sufficient enough for the tasks it was designed for.

    What others should know:

Make sure to break in the rifle, and be prepared to test a few types / weights of ammo. Don't be shocked by the results. For breaking in, I fired 50 rounds, ran a bore snake through, 50 more rounds, bore snake, then sighted in. I purchased expensive H&N 16.2gr pointed pellets that performed horribly. I couldn't hold a group and constantly got fliers. I then tried some ultra cheap Crossman hollow point 14.3gr pellets ($7/500) and holy cow they were spot on nearly every shot. Shortly after dialing in the rifle, and took a groundhog at 50 yards with an incredibly clean / humane kill. Overall, a great rifle, but remember the price point that you're purchasing into and don't expect miracles.

    Things I liked:

This rifle surprised the heck outta me. Made in Spain, it has a nice heft, feeling like a regular .22 and packs a surprisingly accurate wallop with H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 gr pellets. The scope is adequate and wasn't hard to install or sight in. One feature I really like is the single shot loading. Every pellet is sure to be chambered properly and there is no problem with a circular magazine actually falling off the gun or disfiguring the pellet, as on some higher end rifles. Also there is no front sight to get in the way of the scope's sight picture. Even though it is a low end rifle, it is not a toy. It is way more than I expected for the modest price.

    Things I would have changed:

There is nothing to change or improve upon.

    What others should know:

Cocking this rifle is a little stout for this 72 year old shooter. It is not a big deal for short sessions, but for long hunts and full days of shooting, I would definitely consider a different charging method.

    Things I liked:

So much fun for so few bucks! This rifle shoots very well, worked for me right out of the box with the included scope. I was not expecting to see 1 inch groups the first day! Cocking effort is reasonable for my poor old arms. Seems solidly built.

    Things I would have changed:

For the price, not a thing.

    What others should know:

Given the results, the rifle does seem to like the Crosman Premier 14.3 grain pellets.

    Things I liked:

It is light in weight for a rifle intended for hunting. It is very accurate at close range with Meisterkugeln in .22. Not nearly as hold-sensitive as I feared it would be.

    Things I would have changed:

I just wish I could find a domed pellet that it likes so that I can unlock its longer range potential. The beautiful groups that it makes at 10 meters with wadcutters deteriorate badly at 30 yards. That is why it only gets 4 stars for accuracy.

    What others should know:

This rifle offers tremendous value for the money. I bought it to replace a Benjamin 392 that I didn't like and it is better in every way for about $50-60 less. It won't compete with HW or Air Arms on just about anything but the ways in which those brands are better don't justify the 3-5x price difference.

    Things I liked:

Love the size and the weight of it. Loading it is not so bad if you can stabilize the entire gun between your arms or even placing it on the ground will make it easier . Does take some effort for these break barrels. The price for it is what attracted me and when it arrived I got it sighted it in at 30 yards (after changing the scope) it was accurate and I was getting headshots off squirrels easily between 15 and 30 yards. Using the Gamo Red Fires .22 cal 15.4 grains. Why did I choose these over the swarms. I do not mind cocking this back after every shot to load the pellets. With the swarms you are paying for convenience with the magazines. Where as I could save money on that particular aspect and still get the job done

    Things I would have changed:

For the price of it I cannot find anything I would change because it works for me

    What others should know:

Might want to change out the scope for something better. Though you do not have to the scope will still get the job done just not great magnification. I had a bushnell scope 3x4x90mm laying around and that with the whisper made it great for my hunting needs.

    Light weight, accuracy, low price.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger and a longer warranty would be nice.

    What others should know:

The trigger has a lot of creep out of the box. You may want to change the OEM trigger adjustment screw behind the trigger to an M2.5-0.45 10mm hex socket screw to adjust the trigger 2nd stage for a lighter break. Be sure to secure the screw with a tiny bit of blue Loctite once you have it set where you want. Best results shooting was with JSB Straton, 15.89 gr. 0.22 pellets, 0.625 in. group at 25 yds.

    Things I liked:

I like everything about this air rifle. If you are looking for a break barrel that won't break the bank I highly recommend the Gammo wildcat whisper.I can shoot quarter size groups at 30 yard's very consistently. It is awesome for squirrels and rabbits and will even take racoons or opossum with head shots no problem! I like this rifle so much I ordered a second one, that should say it all.

    Things I would have changed:

All I changed was the scope.I mounted the utg true hunter scope on it and it is an awesome combination.

    What others should know:

I have the 22caliber and it seems to like the heavier pellets.I use air arms 18 grain and they shoot great.

    Things I would have changed:

cannot get finger to trigger, safety lever too close to trigger. Took me over hour to install scope, and I know what I'm doing. Crosshairs about 20 degrees off verticle and scope does not move even with screws loosened. Don't want to force it. However, easy to cock. Considerably louder than Gamo Big Cat .22, and it does not have "suppressor".

This rifle shoots pretty much on target after 650-700 shots nickle sized with fliers 25 yds DONT clean your barrel after the inital clean you will lose your accuracy for about 30-50 shots once lead builds back it will come back ''this is my rifle'' yours may be diffrent When i orderd this rifle i orderd 500 container of crosman the container of pellets was dented on top and corner damaged maybe 40 or better straight up fud up along with dented skirts 70 or better i shoot jsb and h&n 14grn 700-740fps it will knock down squirrel off the bird feeder 20 yds overall a good squirrel stopper freezer filler ........BIG DADDY IS STYLE NOT STATUE......... Things I liked:

I have one in .177. caliber with nitro piston. The trigger is nice, and is adjustable as well. The cocking effort is manageable. The stock is okay. Cannot comment for accuracy yet, as I am getting horrible grouping because of a junk factory scope. It is not the pellets, before you go down that route read my comments in what I would change below first. I have a decent scope ordered, and will see how good this rifle groups then.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope that came with mine is a complete piece of total junk. That sums it up quite well. Cheap eBay Chinese scopes are better quality, to be specific. The sight picture is blurry. The scope will not hold zero and wanders from shot to shot, and was this way out of the box. The turret covers are not even a good hard type plastic, which says a LOT about the scope itself. Advice, plan on getting a different scope.

    What others should know:

I was hoping that this would be even half the rifle that my old Gamo Big Cat 1250 was, being as the specs are about identical. That Big Cat 1250 would stack pellets in the same hole at 15 yds out of the box, and it instantly sold me on the Gamo brand. I am not joking. If it weren't for one pellet slightly enlarging the hole, I would not have known to dig out the pellets -- I would have thought I only hit the target once. So far, I am now severely disappointed with the Wildcat Whisper. I bought mine from a local store though, so not the fault of Pyramyd Air. I wish now that I had bought from Pyramyd, as I could have possibly returned the junk scope that came with mine. Take this to heart people, $10 cheaper at the local store sometimes equals a "too bad so sad" warranty and no support at all. However, the problems are with Gamo concerning the scope. It would have looked better for them not to have provided any scope at all, instead of providing that scope shaped object.

    Things I liked:

Fantastic accuracy, low report, low price, solid lock up. The accuracy out of this .22 compares to that of my earlier Beeman R7 and R9's which cost much more.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope needs to be upgraded.

    What others should know:

I have shot springers for 50 years and I never met one that shot this well out of the box. Now that I shoot mostly PCP, I am used to pellet over pellet accuracy and would never expect that from a springer. Guess what, within 100 shots, this rifle was making one small hole groups at 45 feet off the bench. At 25 yards, it was making 1 inch groups all with cheap Crosman Premier pellets. The trigger is what it is but dropping a Charlie Da Tuna GRT-4G trigger is easy to do and fixes this. The other big surprise is how quiet this rifle is. Not as quiet as my Donnyfl silencers but quiet enough to be neighborhood friendly. And it is powerfull to boot. It anchors squirrels at 35 yards with no problem. I checked penetration using a 2x6 and found that the CP pellets penetrate to 1/2 inch at 35 yards. 10 years ago I swore I would never own a Gamo, today I am shouting their praises. They sure have made some changes to their quality, that's for sure.
