    Things I liked:

Light, short, and potent. It's one of the least expensive +12 FPE rifles you'll find. Quite accurate. I own several Benjamin and Sheridan rifles from the current Crosman manufacture as well as the prior Racine, WI Ben/Sher plant. They're iconic rifles that should be in any collection and are wonderful hunting, pest control, and plinking tools. The ability to vary power by pumping is quite nice. 2 pumps is enough for bouncing cans around the back yard.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish Crosman would go back to walnut for the stocks rather than the generic "hardwood" that they are stocking the Benjamin's with these days. FIX THE TRIGGER!!! There is an aftermarket sear that makes the factory trigger a dream. The factory trigger is like trying to haul two cinder blocks past each other with your index finger. Dump the factory rear sight the instant you buy this rifle. Install the Williams peep or scope the rifle, but don't rely on the factory rear sight.

    What others should know:

Pumping does get rather labored past 6 pumps. You get 12-13 FPE out of only 8 pumps, but those are rather stiff pumps, especially at the end. Not for very young or very slight shooters.

    Things I liked:

Very powerful. Very accurate. This is my second 392, once I set the sighting, it was like shooting the one that I used to own......Good consistency in manufacturing.

    Things I would have changed:

The rear sight..Both guns shot too high straight out of the box. Both times I had to actually bend the ramp sight down using a screwdriver as a fulcrum, Then raise it with the set screw.

    What others should know:

Be patient when sighting in these guns. Once they are sighted in, and you get used to the feel of the gun, It will quickly become your pride and joy.

    Things I liked:

This is more accurate than my Gamo (old side cocker) and Beeman ($140 model). It's also quieter, although pumping it 5 times makes up for the quiet shot.

    Things I would have changed:

    Make the pumping quieter.

Dealing with Pyranyd Air is a pleasure!!!!

    Things I liked:

When I was 11 or 12 my mother bought my brother and me the .22 cal. This moel was earlier than the 342.This was in the mid 60's. I would shoot everyday at anything. Many bird, rabbit, snake, squirrel, and anything else in my view took their last breath with me. The accuracy was unbelieveable; shooting field larks out of top of trees over 60 yards out without a scope. When I wore my gun out I started shooting my brothers unitl something happened to the gun. Whether it was the main cylinder gone I do not know. Who says 8 pumps? How about 21! As I say my piece I have an envelope in my desk drawer dated March 9, 1989, which contains a catalog of the Benjamin/Shreidan line. I still have not purchased one. I'm pushing 54 now. Could have bought one and wore it out by now. Oh well.

    Things I would have changed:

I guess that I would go back to the older style like I grew up with. The pump grip was grooved so that you hand would not slide off. I guess that look gave it the appearance of not looking so long as these newer ones do with wood running the full length.

    What others should know:

Start at an early age. Shoot until you take your last breath. Do not keep putting it off as I have.

Great knock-down power for a pellet gun, Accuracy can be great if get to know the gun,

    Things I would have changed:

Younger kids may have hard time pumping it

    What others should know:

Im 27 years old and my dad bought this rifle for me when i was about 11 years old. To this day, i have had no problems with it. Very reliable and well built. ive challenged all my friends, who have different brands, with their .22 cal pellet rifles and this one has ALOT more knock-down power than the others.

    Things I liked:

Very accurate, handsome styling, low price for the power

    Things I would have changed:

somehow, make it easier to pump

    What others should know:

kids under 16 might have a hard time pumping this thing up! My son is 11, and he runs out of steam after firing it 8 or 9 times. It will wear you out if you intend to plink with it.

    Things I liked:

My father bought me this pellet gun when I was 12 years old. I'm 41 and still have it. I have fired this gun thousands of times and it still has the original seals. My rifle is a slightly different model 342. I love this gun and will keep it till I die. What I'm trying to get at is this rilfe will last longer than your child will probably use it. I have many other rifles and pistol but this will always be my favorite.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

High quality, great workmanship, and excellant power

    Things I liked:

First off I would like to say that this is a great gun for the money. I liked many things about this gun. Lets start with the stock. the stock is (i think) beach stained a medium brown, probly trying to look like walnut. if you remove the butt pad you can see the true wood color. At only 36 inches this is a compact gun. also the almost 20 inch barrel makes full potential of the air and accuracy. the open sights are good but i would recoment the williams peep sight. the rear notch is easily removable to install the peep sight. i also like how straitforward the trigger and gun are. i took it all apart and had no problem putting it back together. i also like the fact that when the bolt is open the trigger will not move. this adds safety.

    Things I would have changed:

this model is recomended for a hunting gun which is strange considering the velocity and scope mounting issues(you can mount a scope but it will be alot harder to pump). its not the stopping power that worries me about the velocity but the pellet drop. for hunting you will be shooting at a number of different unknow ranges and a slow heavy pellet such as one from this gun will drop more. you will have to do alot of compensation. im not saying its a bad hunting gun. in fact you need .22 to hunt. if your planning on hunting make sure you know what your doing and can estimate ranges and compensate accordingly. another problem spot is the trigger. it requires a long break in period. you van aid this by putting a generous amount of grease (i used high speed bearing lube) on the hammer riges where it catches the sear. this will help with the trigger pull. accuracy is a problem. the combonation of a heavy trigger and no scope dont leave great results. 100 feet is probly the limit for decent accuracy.

    What others should know:

this is a LOUD gun. i would not recomend it if you live in an urban are or have bad nieghbors. you cannot mount a sling on this gun. the best pellets ive used is the .22 heavy jsb's. there can be decent accuracy in this gun but you have to get to know it. i would not recomend it for plinking due to pellet cost and pumping effort.
