Things I liked:

I have this in 22 Cal. Love it! Plenty of power and accurate out to 40 yards so far. I did a lot of research before buying this one and am not disappointed. I have another highly recommended 22 Cal German made spring piston, but other than the stock this one blows it away.

Things I would have changed:

For what I paid for it nothing! I would have paid more for a better made stock. I also own a Jim Shockey NP2 in 177 Cal (which I did pay more for) and wanted a more traditional stock. That's why I opted for this over the Trail NP2. The stock on this Summit NP2 just lacks in ergonomics. It looks right but don't feel right if that makes any sense. The scope is good and gets you shooting but what do you expect for the price of this set up.

What others should know:

Just research! If you are looking for a pellet rifle to hunt squirrel, rabbit and other small game this is the one. It's a joy to shoot targets and plink crawfish mounds, but I'm looking forward to small game hunting again. Oh yeah... You can't beat Pyramyd Air's commitment to service.

Things I liked:

first off the Weaver scope mounting rail was canted off to one side,,mounting a scope was a trial and error nightmare,,ended up with a red dot sight that would adjust to make up for the bad rail installation at the factory,,should have sent it back but once the box is trashed and living way out i the sticks it makes returns a all day fiasco,so I delt with it,, red dot with green too worked out pretty good, liked the green,, easy to see in daylight and kinda resembled a laser when i looked through it but scopes were not a option

Things I would have changed:

better quality control at the factory,, pa should open product boxes like air guns,, and at least do a visual and operate the real hi ticket items at least once,, high dollar ,,pcps should be aired up to a shooting psi and leave it at a predetermined air pressure like1500 psi on all guns and check it again when some one buys it,,if its 1500psi just before shipment then it dont leak which some do ,, i got one,, marauder pistol ,, its leaked air from day one ,,so i air it up and shoot it down then re air ,, put it up with 2000 psi or some where close and in two or less days its empty probably 30 hours ,, i did not return it as i can use it on a as of today use basis and i have never returned any thing in my whole life ether I fixed it or sold it at a loss or just plain give it away and chalked it up as a do not remake this mistake

    Things I liked:

Very accurate, very stable to shoot, quietest to shoot of my 5 .22 cal air rifles. Weight is good, and stock fits me nicely. I replaced the trigger spring (which VOIDS warranty!!!) with the M-Carbo Benjamin Trail NP2 Pro Trigger Upgrade Kit, and polished a few surfaces while changing out spring. I replaced scope with Crosman Centerpoint Game Tag Scope 3-12 x 44, which has excellent elevation ladder for distance shooting. I have shot sparrows at 75 yards with this rifle. Currently I shoot JSB EXACT JUMBO DIABOLO 15.89 gr pellets. They seem to fit my needs for small game & pest control. I have had this Summit now for 4 years, shooting daily, and no complaints!

    Things I would have changed:

As with all Crosman/Benjamin products, trigger needs to be smoother! The 3 gunstock screws, 2 on each side front of stock, 1 back of trigger guard, come loose after shooting, causing shot's to drift! Good lock or star washers, or a self locking screw (screw with a nylon strip running down side of threads) or even mold locking nuts into stock would be helpful.

    What others should know:

I shot this rifle for 4 months before I changed scope. Scope that came with Summit was decent, but not sufficient for long distance (75-100yds). The shrouded barrel baffle system really works! It is very quiet to shoot with the 15.89 pellets I shoot. It is not as sensitive to "hold" as are other rifles I own. It shoots well hand held, or from a rest. YOU MUST CHECK ALL MOUNTING SCREWS EACH TIME YOU SHOOT!!! Or, like me, use blue Locktite on the 3 stock screws. The only time it drifted from zero was when a screw had come loose.

    Things I liked:

Weight, feel, power, accuracy cost. I do recommend this air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Not really sure. It targeted good with the CenterPoint 4X32 scope that came with it, which was clear. I did replace the scope with a CenterPoint 3-9X32, which is one of two extras that I have.

    What others should know:

I did a 23 shot test using 12.65 grain H&N Sport/Excite Hollow Point over a chronograph. The average was 849 fps in 57 degree weather, today, 3/19/18. This rifle was shot at a 3 inch circle target, 80 foot distance. I hit that target repeatedly in the center leaving a quarter size hole on the 5/8 inch bullseye, which is no longer visible. I took a shot about every 3 minutes, taking my time. This is my second Summit .22 NP2.. the 1st one, which I bought from Pyramyd Air, was equally accurate as this second one. I monitored the 1st one with my chronograph for 11 months. After recording each shooting session, I noticed that the fps was less than 600 fps, with the RWS Hobby 11.90 and two other pellets that was no heavier than 14.3 grains. I talked to Pyramyd Air. The recommended I talk to Crosman, which I did. I sent the air rifle to Crosman. In 2 weeks they sent me a new one, no shipping charge. I monitor and document all my air rifles fps to detect any velocity losses. Woodys World.

This gun is very accurate and very easy to cock with plenty of power and a smooth shot cycle it's also pretty quiet for its power level another advantage is it's very quiet safety lever fairly lightweight and really nice in cold weather.

Light and quiet. The stock is solid and fits me well. All around good gun. Initial sight in and shots fired have been in same spot as long as I do my part.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish the cheek rest was a tad higher. If Benjamin would start making the NP2 series with adjustable cheek rest, that would be great. I removed the butt plate and filled it with open cell foam pieces. That plastic echo when tapped bothers me. Just a personal thing.

    What others should know:

Easy cocking effort. Quiet enough for backyard or in any enclosed area. The trigger is a tad stiff, I think with some lube and repetitive firing it will come into its own. All my other Benjis have and I like it. I picked mine up for just under $160. Combo of a Black Friday deal and using my points. Even with no discount I would have bought it and felt it was worth the money. As with all my guns, before the first shot is fired, I clean the barrel, lube the trigger assembly, and make sure all screws are tightened. Ive had 2 so far that the screws were just a tad loose.

This is basically the benjamin trail NP2 in a different skin. So it is over all one of the best break barrel airguns in the 100. To 250. Range. Smooth easy cooking, great power (mine is 22) good balance and feel.

    Things I would have changed:

Give it a thicker stock/raised cheek. Trigger still not grrat but with a little work good.

    What others should know:

Excellent value for the money. Same gun as trail np2 w different stock.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

Smooth, low-effort-cocking, bright, clear scope, POWER, light weight, trigger IS clean-breaking, compared to other entry-level airguns, effective barrel shroud. Cocking is the same effort throughout the stroke, which makes it easier to cock than an equivalently-powered spring piston gun. This gun is only half as accurate as my Air Arms TX200, but it doesn't break my back to shoot standing offhand, so I end up liking it just as much. It's cheap and cheerful.

    Things I would have changed:

Mold the back of the stock out of solid plastic to make it less hold-sensitive, offer it without scope for a few bucks less, put the scope rail on straight, include a sling swivel for the rear stud, make the trigger pull lighter, do a better job at the factory of thread-locking the stock screws. Offer a solid beech wood-stocked version.

    What others should know:

This is a very good entry level, magnum-powered gas ram airgun. My .22 sends pellets downrange at 23 FPE, which equates to 14.3 gr. Crosman Premier domes or hollow points at around 865 fps. They hit NOTICEABLY harder than .177 and are noticeably less affected by wind at 35 yards than .177s going about the same speed. Mine likes Crosman Premier pellets the best, (domed and HPs) however, even at 865 fps, the CPHPs don't expand. RWS Super H-Points are good performers too. Surprisingly, it does OK with high quality alloy pellets, like JSB and H&N. It shotguns pellets heavier than 16 gr. though. The gun is quite hold-sensitive. You have to hold it the same way every time, or your point of impact will change quite a bit. For example, at 10 yards, shooting from standing offhand to the seated field target position results in a 1" POI shift. This is a GREAT rifle for short-medium range varminting. I get about 1.5" groups with CPUMs at 35 yards. It's got the power needed for raccoon & possum.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

Power, ergonomic and accuracy capability are basically good. Picatinny rail prevents (much) scope creep. The scope is bright and clear, and has a large enough range of adjustment that it can be zeroed, even though the rail is not quite welded on straight. The built-in moderator works pretty well. The cocking is ultra-smooth; no coiled metal spring piston gun in this price range can match it. Shot cycle is quick and without any kind of torque to worry about.

    Things I would have changed:

Stop making false marketing claims, for example, 25 foot-pounds of energy. (FPE) I tried dozens of pellets through mine, and none of them made 25 FPE. The trigger, in stock form is WAY too heavy, though it does break cleanly, as the ad copy claims. Still, its pull is so heavy that it cannot be shot up to its capability until modified. Crosman/Benjamin: please fire your lawyer and hire one with a pair of stones. These cannot be bought by minors anywhere, so why are you loading up the trigger so heavily? The comb of the stock is completely hollow. You'll want to fill it with used pellets, to make it balance better (it's quite muzzle-heavy) and increase the weight a bit, so it isn't so hold-sensitive.

    What others should know:

Essentially, this is a Steel Eagle/Golden Eagle NP2, but without the name, rubber inserts, and with a simpler scope. Or a Trail NP2, but with a classic monte carlo-style stock, instead of the ugly thumbhole one. Mine shoots Crosman Premier Domed Ultra Magnum and Crosman Premier Hollow Points the tightest, but with more fliers than the higher grade pellets. So if the shot is critical, go for H&N or JSB or Air Arms pellets in the 13-15 gr. range. For plinking and informal target shooting, Crosman Premiers are fine. (though they shoot much dirtier, due to being a lead alloy, instead of pure lead) In the end, I'd buy this again. I went into it with the right expectations: namely that it would be "accurate enough", with plenty of power and lightweight. Check the stock and trigger guard screws frequently and consider cleaning them with alcohol and fixing them with blue thread locker. Not all scopes will have sufficient range of adjustment too account for the slightly crooked rail.

    Things I liked:

The stock feels nice when shouldered, not too heavy but it's got some weight to it, trigger is great with the screw backed out most of the way, VERY quiet, and very accurate, the included scope is surprisingly functional with a clear picture and no distortion of any kind, recoil is pretty mild

    Things I would have changed:

I haven't had the shroud unscrew but mine does turn indefinitely in either direction, never gets any tighter or loosens up. It's snug so I have to make a point to try turning it but I don't get why it couldn't be more secure like the Trail NP/NPXL shrouds. I also don't like how the barrel can be pushed open easily, as opposed to my Benjamin Prowler and NPXL which need a little slap to open. Doesn't seem to affect accuracy at all but it's just a mental security issue for me. Otherwise I have no regrets about my purchase

    What others should know:

Got this in .22 and can already tell this is a squirrel's nightmare. Maybe halfway through break in and already stacking the cheap CPHP out to 30 yards, haven't had a chance to chrony yet but judging by how quickly pellets impact the backstop at that distance I'd say she's cooking. The trigger isn't "new" by any means, it's exactly the same as the trigger group I have from a Remington Genesis bought in '06 or '07 except with a metal blade but it is an actual two stage. With the action out of the stock you can see the sear start to move through the first stage until the screw in the trigger blade contacts the sear for the second stage and if you back out the screw most of the way the second stage becomes very short and crisp, but start with a quarter turn out at a time. As far as hold and gold sensitivity, there's almost none. I wrap my fingers around the grip and snug it into my shoulder and seem to be able to do whatever with the resting hand. The artillery hold opened up my groups

    Things I liked:

There's not much I don't like about this gun. I got it on sale for $159.99 and 10% off, and I definitely got my money's worth!! This rifle shoots just about every pellet well that I've tried in it, from the 9.9 grain RWS HMs to the 21.14 grain H&N Baracuda Powers. It's the least picky of my 7 gas/spring piston rifles I own. Shoots very, very smooth, especially for the power it produces. In fact, it shoots so well that I put a Leupold VX II 3-9x40 on it. I LOVE this gun for the money I paid for it. 6 shot, sub-one inch groups at 25 yards with about 6 different types of pellets. Trigger is more than acceptable, and can be adjusted to make it even better.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. The stock is hollow, which I usually address. However, this NP2 shoots so well, and so smooth, I didn't bother because it's not necessary to attain good accuracy with this rifle.

    What others should know:

Easy to disassemble (you void your warranty though), and mine was very clean on the inside, which tells me Benjamin is taking more care in building these rifles. I have a lot of favorite guns, but this one is one of my favorites. I would definitely recommend this rifle.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

The weight of this rifle is outstanding it is lite!!! Ive only had springers so this was a nice change. The suppressor is quiet, all you hear is the mechanical of the gun firing and then the hit of the pellet on the target. psychologically you wonder is there a reduction in power because you are so use to a loud shot right? It seems the power is fine but I need to chrony this one to know for sure. The real rubber butt is very nice, my RWS 34 doesn't have one as nice and for 2x's the price you would think they would. The scope that comes with it is fixed magnification, and is pretty nice, I spent 100.00 on a UTG 3x8-40 thinking it would be a good addition, and it failed right out of the box so I went back to the one sent with this gun and it works fine. after 200+ rounds it seems pretty accurate although I need to get a better scope attached with AO and variable focus to know for sure. At least I can say its fun to shoot and easy to handle.

    Things I would have changed:

The advertising for the gun states it can go longer, out to 40 yards with the N2 Piston for pest control up to racoon size. I don't think that's the case here. My RWS 34 .22 had trouble taking some down at 15 yards, so I went up to a Hatsan 125 .25 and still couldn't take anything ethically outside of 30 yards in a one shot kill to the skull. Of course some coons have very thick bone there.

    What others should know:

When you clean this gun prior to use... unscrew the suppressor by hand and remove it carefully by sliding it straight out from the barrel. If you try to clean it with this on your swab will get stuck in the suppressor.. once you take it apart you'll see what I'm saying here. There's nothing stated about this anywhere so far. Not all pellets are liked by this gun so get an assortment ready. I've had three different scopes on this, UTG 3x9-40 SCP-U294AOIEW (Failed) NcStar 3x9-40 Sniper, and the fixed unit that came with the rifle. Nc's Optic edge is awful but it shot perfectly with that scope and the fixed scope does very well and provides a less obstructed view which was/is very nice. If you have a Chrony, check this gun and post on here what your results are with 14.3 lead. We'd like to know.

    Things I liked:

First off what I liked was the Monte-Carlo stock, I did a lot of research in buying a break barrel and really wanted the Nitro Piston 2 power plant. The Benjamin Trail is a very popular and well received gun but I can't stand thumb hole stocks, this is basically a Benjamin Trail with a Monte-Carlo stock. I like the looks and also the size, length and weight, it's quite a long rifle and it's not light. I highly recommend getting the single swivel sling to carry it whether it be through the woods or even just out to the backyard, it ups the cool factor and makes use of the front sling connector which otherwise just dangles there near the break. The shroud with actual baffles, the two stage trigger and rubber butt plate are also nice touches.

    Things I would have changed:

A more solid stock. The stock is thick plastic but it's hollow inside, with the rubber butt plate screwed in the back. When you knock on or bump the stock it sounds cheap. I remedied this by screwing of the butt plate and stuffing it tightly full of shredded cardboard packing material I had at work. It makes it sound and seem more solid. Also the shroud can screw loose sometimes, after a few pulls or shots the shroud can twist, I want to screw it really tight but the cone section where the shroud meets the break is plastic and I don't want to crack that piece. I thought about putting tite-lock the muzzle screw that holds the shroud but didn't want to limit my access to the barrel. I simply give it a gentle twist tight every few times I cock the gun and it really hasn't been an issue. Perhaps a metal cone piece would help.

    What others should know:

This is a great break barrel gun and you have to break it in. Get a better scope than the gun comes with as it will prove worthy (I got a Centerpoint 3x9-50mm for 70 bucks). I mounted and sighted my scope and zeroed it in, shot a about 100 shot as the rifle barrel was dieseling, Shots 100 through 200 where really erratic, I couldn't hit anything and thought my scope was to blame. Long story short, by about shot 300 this thing is dead on accurate and has been ever since to the point where now if I miss my target by just a bit I believe it's human error. Fantastic gun for the price, really good. Also, it's very quiet for a big long rifle, the shroud is not just for show. Get the .22 version, this gun has plenty of power to send the bigger slug down range at very high speed. The lighter pellet .177 version can actually break the sound barrier, which sounds cool, but it's not, it makes it twice as loud. The .22 goes plenty fast, stays more true and packs bigger punch. Very happy with it.
