Unbelievably accurate, very easy to shoot, isn't that pellet fussy! I've had this gun for about a year know and have at least shot 5000 rounds and the gun is still working just fine. have taken many squirrels with gun and pellet placement is key! I have a mantis 3-9-40 ao and it goes great with this rifle!
Things I would have changed:absolutely nothing!
What others should know:LOVES RWS WAD CUTTERS! and predator polymags! can shoot a dime every single time and 20 yards with both! but every gun likes different ammo so find what's best for your exact rifle!

I bought this a few years back, and it is a great deal for under $50. Yes, it does have a synthetic stock, but its easy to pump up, and you do not have to worry about a bad spring in the winter. 750 fps, is a very powerful rifle in this price range.
Things I would have changed:Its a daisy, and the quality is great for the price. If you want a wood stock, you will have to kick it up about $40.00
What others should know:This is what backyard plinking is all about. Set up some pop cans, and blast away and have a contest with your friends. Again, the price is great, and I would recommend this as a Christmas present. Ammo is also cheap in this caliber.

Things I would have changed:I can't find anything to change.
What others should know:Very powerful please be careful. This is a very well built gun Daisy no's what there doing, thanks Daisy. Pyramid is Great.

Very inexpensive. Definitely the best pellet rifle for the price. Build quality is excellent, power is very good, and accuracy is surprising with pellets. This rifle is perfect for small pest control and target practice and plinking. Balance, feel, and length of pull are just about perfect. No complaints, it feels very natural to handle and shoot, excellent design. Once again, quality for the price is very impressive.
Things I would have changed:The receiver and pump arm should be made of metal, like the older ones. But, the plastics ARE of a high quality, it's certainly not cheap junk.
What others should know:I love the fact that this may be the ONLY air rifle that will accept, and feed, round lead balls from the BB magazine. They are true .177 Caliber so they do engage the rifling, and accuracy is good. Being able to use this rifle as a 50 shot repeater with round lead balls is a HUGE advantage to me when hunting pests.
This rifle will accept any scope, does not require a scope specific to air rifles because there is zero recoil. I use a center point scope 3 to 9 power, and accuracy is amazing to 35 yards.

The Daisy 880 is a true Diamond in the rough. Capable of producing good precision, and quite respectable power. The 880 is a very light weight Multi Pump Pneumatic that is easy to carry around out playing in the desert or woods. For the price it is tough to beat the Daisy 880, for that matter for twice the price it is difficult to beat.
Things I would have changed:Remove the BB feed slot, and remove the BB holding space, this is a good Pellet Rifle. Perhaps bring back the manual feed clips like in the Daisy 917/922 or better yet make a self feeding clip system that takes the same clips as the Daisy 953.
What others should know:If using a scope make sure that the rings are formed so that a flat portion of the ring is resting on the receiver top, this will prevent it from pulling up on the rail. When loading a pellet it works best to have the muzzle aimed slightly downward, and roll the pellet in from the side (where the visible indent is for this purpose), using heavier/longer pellets works better for loading. This is an adult Air Rifle, that is to say it is to powerful to use as a young kids gun safety trainer, it is nearly as dangerous as some Powder Burning Firearms.

VERY NICE TRIGGER AND FEEDS BB S WELL. Has plenty of power and is very light to carry.
Things I would have changed:It is a remanufactured gun but came missing the rear sight elevation adjuster and one of the scope adjustment covers. Accuracy with BB s is very poor but with pellets is OK.
What others should know:Hard to load the pellets. Would be impossible in bad light or with cold or gloves on.

Super easy to pump. Good velocity for a pumper. Quiet. Great accuracy for the price. Decent open sights. Lightweight. Has a scope dovetail. Comfortable stock for most people. Easy to load for a multi-pump pneumatic.
Things I would have changed:Improve the trigger. The pull weight is about 6 lbs and very long. It is easy to improve with a simple shim made from a pellet tin lid, but it should be better out of the box. Get rid of the BB option. If anyone is going to shoot BB's they should get a smooth bore gun like the daisy 35, crosman 760, or a red ryder. It just makes loading pellets a bit trickier. I also think that Daisy would do well to offer a higher-end model with a metal receiver, and possibly a wood stock. The scope rail on 880's are flimsy and probably the biggest obstacle to obtaining better accuracy. I had to shim my scope a LOT to get on target. I would gladly pay more for a wood and metal gun, and I think a lot of others would too.
What others should know:This is the best air rifle you can buy for under $80 or so. Certainly the best multi-stroke pneumatic out there. I get 1.25" groups of 10 shots at 25 yards with crosman premier heavy's (10.5 grains) at 610-615 fps. I own or have owned several 880's, 901's, and crosman 2100's. The 901's and 2100's shoot 2-3" groups at 25 yards, which is unacceptable from anything firing pellets. The 2100 is hard to pump, hard to load, hard to cock, and the trigger is awful. The barrel mounting design on the 2100 is awful, ensuring terrible accuracy in my experience with them. The 901 is a little better than the 2100, but not by much. My 880's consistently shoot much more accurately than either the 901 or 2100, the extended pump handle makes for easy pumping and no pinched palms, and the overall feel of the rifle is superior to the other two. If you want an accurate and pleasant-to-operate pumper or just don't want to spend more than $50, this is the KING.

The Daisy 880 is a very light air rifle. It is more accurate than I thought it would be at close to a 1" circle at twenty yards. It is very easy to pump. This seems to be a well designed air rifle and had been on the market for a very long time. I have a Hatsan Model 95 air rifle and the Daisy 880 feels like a toy in comparison but I am glad I purchased it because it is light and plenty accurage enough to be effective at chasing birds away from my thornless blackberries and blueberries. I would recommend this air rifle to a friend. The lady at Phramyd Air was helpful when I talked with her on the phone.

Lightweight and accurate (with pellets. Open sight were very nice and were getting quarter sized grouping at 40 feet. Have not and will not use BB's. With the right scope* I am now grouping 5-10 shots dime size...it's become a tack driver.
Things I would have changed:Better scope. The 4x15 scope that came with mine was pretty much a throwaway. Gun shot high and even with a shim, could not get the gun's scope to shoot anywhere on paper. The stock would be a bit better if the Daisy people added a bit of weight.
What others should know:OK...the scope. I bought a 2nd air rifle scope from Bass Pro, and still could not get any shots on paper. Both scopes will be going on eBay. Good News However... I took my old Gamo 4x32 scope that came with my Big Cat 1250, made a 3 strip pop can shim, and zeroed the 880 within 8 shots. To sight in, I used a camera tri-pod with a Hammer's V yoke ($10 on eBay).
Accurate? For fun try this... By some individually packaged Cherry Life Savers, lick them and put a few on white cardboard. Now try shooting through the Life Saver without breaking it. Pleased to say with the 880 set up I have now, I've managed to pull it off, using Crosman Premier pellets. Happy Shooting!

I purchased this 880) son's birthday. Cory was very helpful in helping me pick out his first air rifle. It was refurbished it looks like it's brand-new. Definitely great value.
Things I would have changed:The Scope wouldn't even make a good paperweight. But I can't say too much about it, because I bought the gun without a scope. It was like a free gift. When he's ready to site in scope, it will be time for new air rifle.
What others should know:Although I haven't tested it for accuracy, because his birthday is not for another week. Most reviews that I've read said at close range it's very accurate. The most important thing, is that he learns safety, and responsibility.

Accurate with pellets, holds up very well to a lot of use. A joy to shoot indoors and out. This is a classic that will never go out of date.Best value for dollar available.
Things I would have changed:Feels light. I filled stock with silicon caulk.
What others should know:I would suggest that anyone who would like a solider feel fill stock with silicon caulk. It increases weight and makes gun feel more stable shooting offhand.

Everything! It's hefty, weight-wise. It's super easy to pump (every pump is as easy as the previous one, even up to the full 10!). It has an easy trigger (light and smooth pull). It fires pellets with a snap, not a pop. This gun is awesome!
Things I would have changed:Swap the plastic parts for wood and metal.
What others should know:If you've only used a BB gun (Daisy Red Ryder or similar) before, be prepared to be shocked and amazed by the difference! This gun gives you "a feel for the real deal"! A real upgrade, in my book! And mine was bought as a remanufactured unit, purchased for $20 @ CAL Ranch. Awesome deal!

Especially for the money this is actually a really good gun. Light. No recoil. Accurate. I use crosman 10.5s and im shooting cans at 50yds. Even though its all plastic its a pretty sturdy gun. I really like it. My go to plinker and midrange squirrel gun. Itll pierce 1 side of a paint can out to 45yds. Not to loud. Very backyard friendly. My 2289 is louder. I have a 3-9x32 Center point on mine.
Things I would have changed:Better barrel. Pellets only. Barrel isnt bad but it has very slight groovings and a light twist rate.
What others should know:I would only use 10 pumps. 5 isnt as accurate for some reason. Most scopes will be a bit of a pain to mount with the way the reciver is set. Heavier rounds are best.

Very durable. Although its reciever and pump handle are plastic it is very durable overall.
Things I would have changed:The reciever and bolt as well as the pump handle of all things are plastic. anything that is important for operating the gun (i.e- the bolt and pump handle should be metal ) Id definitely pay and extra 10-20 dollars for a metal reciever.
What others should know:The bolt feels flimsy and cheap but after smacking around on the bolt of another daisy rifle with the exact bolt i can attest that the bolt is very durable and will not break under any normal or minor stress. There is nothing flimsy about it.

Smooth and almost effortless pumping from one pump up to ten pumps...very impressed! Solid feel and like the overall length as it works for me as an adult. Powerful!!
Things I would have changed:Not a huge deal, but would like a metal pump lever, which after contacting Daisy, found that there isn't one currently. I changed out the resin cocking lever for a metal one on my newer model Red Rider and like the feel much better.
What others should know:Fun to shoot and easy enough to pump that a young adult can handle...just make sure that all safety precautions are followed, as this is a powerful air rifle....and have fun!!
