    Things I liked:

The fact that I bought it from Pyramyd Air

    Things I would have changed:

I must have gotten caught in the GAMO marketing hype somewhere. I wanted to buy a new air rifle i could plink around the house, pest control, and hunt with. I was pretty sure this was the rifle. The inconsistent reviews should have been enough to send me on my way, but I refused. In fact, I almost became determined to figure out what the other people were doing wrong. I un-boxed this rifle and took it out back to use the iron sights. The rifle is very light. The cocking is smooth. There was a bit of a scratching sound when closing the barrel. Anyhow iron sights worked ok I did have to adjust them quite a bit off center. Then i proceeded to mount the scope. I applied loctite to every single screw and went to take a few shots the next day. First 2 were near each other, then I couldn't hit squat at 15 yrds let alone 30. Took the scope off, the recoil pin pushed through the aluminum rail, which was as robust as a beer can. So I removed the rail and mounted the scope to the gun. Same issues. Long story short.. I fired 300+ rounds through this gun and no matter what I did it flat out stunk. It was hard to keep it on paper at 30 yards. Now, I suspect a lot of my troubles were from the scope. I wanted to be happy with it so badly but I just wasn't. Fortunately I purchased from Pyramid air. They are close by so shipping is next day!

    What others should know:

I sent this back to them no questions asked. I paid $9 more for the RWS Diana 34 Panther striker combo. I did this as opposed to spending $80+ to gamble; for a scope with OA for something I'm not happy with. Ill write a review of it, couldn't be happier.

    Things I liked:

Light, feels good, easy to hold steady. Very quiet and powerful.

    Things I would have changed:

Worst trigger ever! Nothing else to say about that. Mine came with a Gamo scope, which is complete junk. I have to re-sight it every time I shoot from a bench at the range. Once sighted in, very accurate. I will be chucking the Gamo scope and replacing it with a Hawke soon.

    What others should know:

Find one that does NOT include a scope. The value is not bad and it is fun to shoot. The scope is just way too aggrivating.

    Things I liked:

Powerful and deadly accurate. Light and easy to use. Especially for younger shooters like my kids with smaller hands. Loves Gamo redfire. Within 30yards.

    Things I would have changed:

Ditch the scope. I have used two Bushnell scopes so far with fantastic results. I am a professional pest controller and this gun makes me money$$.

    What others should know:

Buy this gun with confidence. I owned a CFX prior. This one is as accurate but much lighter. Easier to load. Stock I feel more user friendly. Be prepared to upgrade scope. I shoot with two Bushnells. A 4 - 12 x 40 Trophy and a 4 x 32 Banner. Both brilliant.

    Things I liked:

I love the weight and look of the gun. Easy to carry when hunting.

    Things I would have changed:

    Include a 4-12X40AO scope

    What others should know:

I thought from other reviews that this gun would be accurate and powerful but I was wrong. The gun will shoot about 5 inches high and then shoot lower and lower till its shooting 5 inches low from the aim point so my groups and about an 8 to 10 inch group and 20 yards. I cannot sight the gun in because it is not consistent enough for the pellets to group at all. I believe that after a few shots the gun begins to lose power with every shot which is why the shots begin to hit the ground. This gun is also very loud. Although it says it is quiet, it is not. My other air rifles that do not have any type of noise dampening system on them are quieter than this gun and I am getting complaints by the neighbors with this gun and I have never got any complaints for years with my other guns.

    Things I liked:

The .177 is quite powerful, and should be plenty of FPE to take down small varmints. With heavier (10gr+) pellets, I can explode canned sodas from over 50 yards. Cocking action is smooth and sure and unlike some of the other reviewers, my Gamo is droop-free. :) The trigger is plastic and has a long pull, but better than any of the other Gamo or Crossman triggers I have tried out of the box. My scale shows just over 3lbs. pull. The gun is light and easy enough to cock and load that you can shoot it all day. Nice tight fit in the chamber and the iron sights shoot straight. Gamo's modern guns are all safe to dry-fire, and the gas-piston powerplant in this gun is a big improvement in every way over a greased metal spring.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope is a cheap Leapers, but again it's better than the 4x fixed scope that came with older Whisper. It's a bit blurry at anything higher than 5-6x mag. This is a hunting rifle; where are the sling swivel-mounts?!? ;)

    What others should know:

The PBA's that come with the gun, and really any .177 caliber pellet that weighs less than 8gr is going to go super-sonic. Trans-sonic wobble will ruin your accuracy at distance and the sonic "crack" will scare suburban neighbors as it sounds like a rimfire shot or a firecracker going off, complete with echo. Be warned -- it also accelerates cleaning felts past the sound barrier. Overall, this gun is great, and it perhaps deserves a better piece of glass on top of it. I wish Gamo made their guns in .25 caliber as well.

    accurate, and powerful

    Things I would have changed:

cost, although it is better then most break barrels, i dont think it is worth the 50$+ more then other nitro piston guns, also it really needs a metal trigger, but the SAT trigger is much better then older ones

    Things I would have changed:

scope very poor. couldn't get it to focus well and no parallax adjustment. replace scope with bsa 3x12 50 and much better. thinking I need to upgrade trigger

    What others should know:

so far I'm disappointed with accuracy. My old hunter 890 was better. Trying different pellets. Gun seems sensitive to lighter ones

light, very accurate, trigger is amazing, good value for money, very quiet.overall this is a great gun i highly recommend it, it has very little cocking effort.i would rate this gun 10 out of 10, best in the world.

    Things I would have changed:

nothing really, maybe change the length a bit, and put some markings on the sight adjustment screws.

    What others should know:

This is an amazing gun got mine two weeks ago, love it, buy a lot of pellets with it it will take you a while to get the slighteset bit of boredom from this gun.Buy a protective cover, a scope, and a field target with this rifle.Oil it well it looks bad with fingerprints on.

The gun is low noise, new SAT trigger is a great improvement, light weight and easy cocking.

    Things I would have changed:

I would like to see this model sold with a better scope and mount or an option to buy it without the scope. Move the safety to the rear of the gun.

    What others should know:

I shot approximately 200 pellets of different types through this rifle. I could achieve any group what-so-ever, with or without the scope. Contacted Pyramyd Air immediately via phone. They took the rifle back without any hassle at all. Asked if I wanted another like it, a different brand or a refund. Most pleasant people I have ever dealt with. Pyramyd Air will have ALL my business.

Powerful and lightweight gun. The silencer really does work= quiet. Scope/mount is good. Great value for piston rifle. Easy to cock for the amount of power.

    Things I would have changed:

A better trigger- although its fine for the price range. Its smooth and light, but 2nd stage is not distinguished.

    Things I liked:

    power, noise level, accuracy

    Things I would have changed:

better trigger--- even though this "new" trigger from Gamo is better than the previous generation of plastic triggers. Plan on buying a decent scope, the scopes Gamo ships with their rifles are pretty horrible.

    What others should know:

I have a Gamo "Silent Cat" in 177, and this is basically the same rifle but with the Gas Piston powerplant instead of a spring. The difference is huge. I wanted a 22 cal, and like my silent cat enough that I was going to buy one of those to match my 177. The IGT piston is a giant improvement. Just like any other springer, it is sensitive to hold style. Find the sweet spot and use a gentle artillery hold, and it shoots great. Try a bunch of different pellets to find what it likes. I have shot several 0.600 inch groups at 25 yards so far. I put a BKL one piece mount on it, with a CenterPoint 3-9x/40 scope. Rock solid. Same mount I use with other big spring guns because I got tired of messing with mounts which don't hold. Not saying that people might get lemons once in a while, but I have had excellent results with my Gamo rifles- I take my time, I'm careful, and I don't expect them to do things they can't do.

    What others should know:

This is my second review. i LIKED the .177 so much I bought a .22...With beeman kodiak it is surgical at 50yrds.However this s the second .22! The first one shot just as good but self destructed after about 300 rnds. The dovetail mount stop screw sheered!Pyramid air replaced the gun and the new one shoots just as good...What you need to know is loc tite everything!!! All scope hardware and stock hardwae! It is a GREAT airgun!!!

    Things I liked:

i did like the overall idea of the gun (thumb hole stock/gas piston/fixed sound suppressor)...sadly it didn't last long enough for me to really get a good feel for it though...shout out to all the people at pyramyd air for the most amazingly painless customer service, defiantly making my life easier thx

    Things I would have changed:

better quality control from gamo...letting a gun go out with that bad of a defect is ridiculous...also the stock front sights were quite offset and loose making them a pain to zero

    What others should know:

i took 10 shot to zero my leapers scope only to have one of the arms for the cocking lever dislocate. it then wouldnt fully lock the spring and caused some severe cosmetic damage to the underside of the barrel...sadly makes me think twice about getting a gamo again

    Things I liked:

The IGT piston that gives it some extra punching power. Openings in the stock make it lighter and allow a firm grip for cocking. Safety Latch is smooth and silent. ND52 Damper muffles noise to a poof that sounds like a car door being closed. Cocking is very smooth and barrel closes easily. Open sights are very precise with the fiber optics. Gamo Scope is very high quality. Trigger has a smooth squeeze motion and is adjustable.

    Things I would have changed:

Lower cost would be nice but isn't likely to happen. Design a scope mount so open sights and scope are both useable together.

    What others should know:

The open sights can't be used once the scope is mounted.

    Things I liked:

I like the gas spring much better than the mechanical type. Less torque and smoother action. The gun is fairly quiet if you fire subsonic rounds in it.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger action is in need of an upgrade. I took care of that with a GRT-4G trigger replacement from "Charliedatuna.com".

    What others should know:

I would consider upgrading the scope if you are going to be doing some serious shooting. Otherwise, the stock scope is a fair unit.

    Rating 1.01.0 1.0

    Things I liked:

The rifle is quiet as advertised, and definitely packs a whollup (.22)... Poor iron sights, an inadequate scope rail, and a lack of accuracy left me less than impressed, however.

    Things I would have changed:

I'll begin by saying I just sent mine back to Gamo for the second time. They replaced my first rifle with a brand new one... that promptly exhibited the same problems as the first. 1. The rear sight leaf has quite a bit of side-to-side play, making windage adjustment pointless. Rifle #2 came with the mounting screw completely stripped to boot! At this price point, I don't expect much from the scope, but I do expect a quality set of iron sights. These were a joke. I ended up shooting 150-200 rounds to break the rifle in before mounting the scope (and giving it its first thorough cleaning). 2. On both rifles, the aluminum scope rail was unable to resist the recoil this gun produces. I destroyed BOTH scope stop holes on the first gun after a mere 450 rounds. After only 150 rounds on rifle #2, the scope stop hole had begun to elongate and ripple the aluminum rail!. If the scope mount had stop pins at both ends (like the RWS does), I suspect this issue would be nonexistent. I included that comment in my letter to Gamo. 3. Accuracy (lack thereof) - I fired 800 rounds with the first, 300 with the second. I tried JSB Diablo Exact Jumbos, JSB Jumbo Extra Heavies, RWS Superdomes, Predator Polymags, Predator Big Boys, Crossman Premiers, Benjamin Discoveries. Light weight, heavy weight, medium weight, I couldn't get consistent groupings with any of them. Gamo acknowledged that they couldn't either with the first gun. We'll see what they say with the second.

    What others should know:

I really wish I could've offered a more positive review. Upon reflection, I should have sent the first rifle back to Pyramid Air. By sending it directly to Gamo for warranty repair, I ended up flying way past Pyramid's 30 day warranty period. As a result, it appears that I'm stuck with this toy. The Mythbusters proved it's possible to polish a turd... I sure hope that Gamo can prove it too! If Gamo resolves my issues, I'll be sure to provide an update. If I get rifle #3 that is of the same caliber as rifles #1 and 2, you'll get that update too...

    Things I liked:

Everything! The gas piston makes it feel so smooth both cocking and firiring.I don't know what the other reviewers are are are feeling with the cheap cocking.Feels good and robust to me.Power and accuracy is TOP KNOTCH!!!Use Beeman Heavy pellets like Kodiack or silver arrow(my fav) and you will be very happy!

    Things I would have changed:

scope is not all that. would like to be able to use iron sights with scope mounted. orded another scope because gun deserves it.

    What others should know:

This gun has alot of power and consistent power. It does not like light pellets at long range. In fact one super high velocity non lead pellet I bought spins apart in mid air when shot through this gun.

  • Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

It was extremely accurate right out of the box. I mounted the scope and was hitting a soda can at 20 yards. I have not done any adjustments and it is still accurate. It is relatively quiet and works well in my suburban backyard for squirrel control. I also like the weight of this gun. I also have a Remington NPSS and it is quieter, but this gun is still quiet.

    Things I would have changed:

Only thing I don't like at the moment is the cocking action. It feels kind of "cheap". That's the best way I can describe it. My NPSS feels really solid when it is cocked and this one doesn't. It isn't a deal breaker and overall I am happy.

    What others should know:

I am using the GAMO Red Fire pellets. I will be buying the Predator pellets later, but this were on the shelf locally. So far they are deadly on the squirrels.

    Things I liked:

I shot this model at the NRA annual meeting and was very impressed so ordered one right away. I was impressed with the demo models, accuracy, speed, and scope and very impressed with Pyramid's sales staffs friendly service and their pricing. In spite of being told it was a new model and production was just starting up so delivery would be 2 weeks or more my rifle arrived in 4 days. o super fast delivery also.

    Things I would have changed:

The gun I shot was not exactly like what I got. Mine had a different scope and of course was new so not broke in or tuned. My rifle did not shoot accurate initially but is "getting there"! Out of box it did not have good accuracy. I've experimented with 5 different pellet brands and types and shot it quite a lot, agressivly cleaning it and it seems to be getting much better. Also much of the problem may be in the scope which I changed out. Original scope was not clear and not responsive to zero change. I've never owned or looked thru a scope that I needed to wear my reading glasses to make clear.

    What others should know:

This rifle is fast and powerful so does not "Whisper" but it is certainly quieter than the other equally fast ones I have shot or heard shot. With the PBA pellets it cracks much like a subsonic 22 powder load a "Sonic crack". With heavier lead pellets it doesw not crack but does have a discharge sound along the lines of slapping a wood ruler on a hard flat surface.

    Things I liked:

Was accurate right out of the box! I know this is not normal, but I installed the scope and it was shooting accuratly right away. It is pretty quiet. Not as quiet as my .22 Remington NPSS, but it is still quiet enough for the backyard pest control that I bought it for. I like the weight as it is lighter than my NPSS and it feels good overall. Bagged four squirrels my first weekend with t.

    Things I would have changed:

The cocking action isn't as smooth as on my NPSS. Don't know it this will improve over time, but it feels a tad cheap or flimsy when cocking it. The NPSS feels really sturdy and has a great sound when you cock it and this one sounds a bit cheap.

    What others should know:

Overall, I am really happy with this gun so far. It is my first Gamo and I am impressed.
