Things I liked:

The design for better penetration.

Things I would have changed:

The price is way too high!

What others should know:

I shot these (H&N Hornet) out of my Hatsan 135 QE Vortex .22 rifle from a bench rest and they shot way higher than six other brands I compared them with. They were NOT exceptional in accuracy and I noticed when I used a pellet seater and I pushed just a little too hard it would actually shove it down into the chamber. This is obviously due to the soft and undersized skirts. Like my Diana RWS 34, this gun absolutely loves the H&N Baracuda Hunters at 18.21 gr. Both of these rifles will shoot three shot groups w/ all pellets touching at 15, 20, 25 and 30 yards in the same spot. These are my two squirrel rifles and I use the Baracuda Hunters exclusively when hunting. I also shot my Diana LP8 pistol with the H&N Hornet pellets from a bench rest and got the same type of groups...high and inconsistent. I like H&N pellets but I believe they need to go back to the drawing board...don't waste your money!

Love the damage it leaves on any animal you hit. Good Expansion and the internal damage is like not other.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the cost is too expensive and would Love to see these pellets on higher calibers like a 30 cal And 35 cal Hornet.

    Things I liked:

These Hornet pellets are an awesome idea! Combining metals and their aerodynamic shape, these pellets hit with devastating force; I shoot'em with a Walther Reign .22 rifle; and some of the shots impress me so much, that I wish I could at least post pictures of the results here in this review; I'm not talking about the kill, but about the pellet itself; some pellets I'm able to recover after shooting'em, and the shot pellet keeps the sharp tip, which I believe is brass, and the rest of the pellet completely opens like a fan; it's an expanding round! I'm no expert in forensic ballistics, but the ballistic gel block I shot proves the power of a .22 pellet; consistent and reliable.

    Things I would have changed:

Like everybody else, I'd say I'd lower the price; but I buy from PyramidAir and if you buy 3 tins, they give you 1 for free.

    What others should know:

This Hornet pellets are a bit of a luxury at that $27.99 price; it's a specialty pellet, not our everyday plinking round; I suggest investing in at least 1 tin which is 200 pellets; sometimes these Hornets are out of stock; using a PCP rifle these rounds will take a medium size target; just study your target's anatomy.

    Things I liked:

Love the accuracy and the penetration is insane. Consistently shoots tight groups and I was shocked when they punched through my 1 inch thick pine board backstop at 15yards.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. Just ordered a new tin!

    What others should know:

Every make and model gun tends to have a pellet brand it likes more than others but I tested these on two different break barrels and at .177 and .22 cal. The consistency and grouping results were the same leading one to conclude that these pellets are well machined and reliable! Even with 40 rounds on each rifle and caliber, I had NO flyers!!!! Definitely recommend them for accuracy and small game hunting.

    Things I liked:

Devastating on small game. I shoot these out of my Diana 350 and Diana 470 at 830 fps with great results. Both guns tuned up a bit and shoot this pellet with uncanny accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

Price. Serious $ but honestly they are worth it for the performance they deliver.

    What others should know:

Consistent from tin to tin with no deformation. I hunt a lot of jackrabbits and these are my #1 choice out to 60 yards. To take shots at game at this distance you have to #1 have good power in your rifle and also great accuracy, both required. These pellets hang onto velocity extremely well rivaling the heavier domed pellets.

    Things I liked:

These fly real nice in both my pistol and rifle Benjamin marauder’s . They are deadly on squirrels. I’m going to stick with these with both guns.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing but the price maybe.

    What others should know:

I read the longs would not work in both the pistol and rifle so I choose these.

    Things I liked:

These are so well made, way sharper than those plastic versions, so tough that they are essentially the AP rounds for pellets; for use with raccoon sized critter control, these are the only dispatching pellets I trust. I have them stocked up in each of the calibers they offer, just in case they quit making them at some point. Yes they cost more, but consider that they are casting and machining those sharp brass tips and they are casting and swagging the lead skirts to them; that is more effort to produce than jacketed center fire bullets you would consider a bargain at this price point. These sharp brass tips are going to be effective with penetration at lower velocities at longer distances or even with lower powered platforms up close.

    Things I would have changed:

If the skirt was copper plated, they would be even tougher and a little more effective, if we are going all out here.

Greatly improves the penetration of your rifle and pistol.

    Things I liked:

Incredibly powerful, penetration wise-probably the most potent penetrating pellet on the market. They actually shot through a side of aluminum air conditioning duct. I fired them from both a Gamo Swarm Whisper(.22 cal) and a Hatsan Speedfire Vortex(also a .22 cal). No other pellet I fired did this. I love the quality of these pellets, though not the price.

    Things I would have changed:

The price is a bit high.

    What others should know:

Incredible penetration, especially from a high powered rifle.

    Things I liked:

Amazing penetration! I have trouble with woodchucks, well used to. 35 yard broadside, double lung, large exit wound and bleeding. He went 5 yards and expired. Quick and humanly as possible.

    Things I would have changed:

Yes they are expensive. Since the have the same point of aim/impact as JSB Match Diabolo Hades .22 cal hollowpoint, I save them for the time most needed.

    What others should know:

The point of impact with my SIG ASP20 break barrel in 22 cal was the same at 35 yards.

    Things I liked:

In a word - VICIOUS! These pellets load into my Marauder (pistol) easy & every time - not a single jam or malfunction, so far, after about 100 fired. Brass tip gives good penetration and lead jacket mushrooms for some nice shock effect - best of both worlds, in one pellet. Expensive - but, like a divorce, worth every penny! Will make whatever is on the receiving end very unhappy, whether you hit flesh or bone.

    Things I would have changed:

Pricey for everyday use, but worth it for those times that you absolutely want to make the maximum impact on a target, whether hard or soft.

    What others should know:

A compromise pellet, not optimized for either hard targets (penetration) or soft targets (shock) but works well *generally* for either one. Will definitely hit hard, no matter what it hits. Penetrates like a small slug but also expands like a small hollow point.

Good shooting out of the Gamo Swarm Magnum gen 2.

    Things I would have changed:

Price, these are way higher than they are worth.

    What others should know:

The pellets are good and they are accurate out of my rifles but no pellet including this one is worth 25 dollars for a tin of 250.

    Things I liked:

These are very accurate in all of my air rifles. However the Gamo Magnum, Gen 2 is a perfect match for the Hornet pellets. I am getting dime size groups at 35 yards with very few flyers. The flyers are only about an inch or so off the mark and those could be my fault. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to sight in your gun with accuracy. All though they may cost a little more then the average pellets, the reward is worth it by far. I have taken down several small game animals with these and they hit hard. If your able to send these down range at around 800 to 900 fps then your most likely going to connect with your target with almost pinpoint accuracy. I have a large variety of pellets in my collection but the H&N Hornets are my go to preference when I need to get the job done. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

    Things I would have changed:

Lower the price and maybe add a few more per tin.

    What others should know:

All of the pellets I have shot seem to be well balanced and very clean. The points on these are pretty sharp too. Penetration is not an issue for the thicker skinned varmints. Always consider your surroundings before taking the shot because pass through's will occur on smaller animals especially when shooting at higher fps.

These are good pellets and are very accurate. They will do the job on squirrels but they go straight through them. The squirrels will run off and you will have to find them.

    Things I would have changed:

I would not change anything but the high price for these. They would be good for racoons or ther bigger game.

    What others should know:

Use these sparingly as they are expensive and hard to get.
