Tech talk!
We asked airgun writer Tom Gaylord about using these open sights on the TalonP pistol and the Escape-series of rifles that are based on the TalonP pistol frame. Here's what he said:
I don't recommend using these open sights on the TalonP pistol or the Escape-series of rifles because neither has a long enough frame to allow for sufficient separation of the sights to achieve the precision these guns are known for. Here are two examples that demonstrate how distance between sights affects accuracy:
- Snubnose revolvers are inaccurate because their sights are too close together -- not because their barrels are short.
- Olympic target rifles have 16" barrels inside 25" shrouds to gain the additional sight separation needed for precision.
- AirForce Airguns fiber optic sights
- Fixed red front sight
- Fully adjustable green rear sight
- Attaches to AirForce sporting rifles* (does not fit AirForce Edge 10-meter air guns)
- Quick-detach base allows for easy mounting and removal
*These will fit the TalonP, but the frame of the gun isn't long enough to deliver good accuracy with these open sights, which were created for longer guns (Talon, Talon SS and Condor). The Escape-series rifles are built on the frame of the TalonP, which is a pistol. As with the pistol, these sights will work on the Escape guns, but they won't deliver the desired accuracy.

Mostly the truglo feature and that the can be fully adjusted ...
Things I Would Have Changed...
What Others Should KnowOn the Airforce Condor these fit in great but in the Airforce Escape the rear sight must placed more forward and the front is too close in the Airforce Escape, but in the Airforce Condor, these fit perfectly and are very strong yet very light weight made of aluminum with steel, they are fully adjustable and give the gun a better look overall ...
Great fiber optic sights. I own two, one mounted on a Condor and the other on a "bug out" rifle in .25 caliber. Highly suggested for those of us that like open sights.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe cost, a little expensive. However you get what you pay for.
What Others Should KnowSomewhat hard to sight in. When they are sighted in they are capable of target accuracy, depending on the shooter. Very nice keep up the good work.
the sites are as pictured. Requiring an allen wrench to install them Not something that you will be moving all over the gun as you set up scopes and other stuff for different situations. Self centering is a good feature. Also easy to figure out how to use windage and elevation since they don't come with instructions.
Things I Would Have ChangedSend instructions for the mechanically disinclined, A nice box to store the unit in when not being used would be a plus. They come in a few small zip lock baggies.
very easy to install, easy to sight in and adjust...front sight looks sexy on the ss !!!
Things I Would Have Changedwould like to see the rear sight made completely of metal....
What Others Should Knowusing iron sight or open sights is challenging and puts a different perspective on your shooting i recommend using this product to increase yous shooting skills they are a bit pricey but do work well
looked sturdy
Things I Would Have Changedalign the front sight with the mount, use the thumb screws like they show in the picture.
What Others Should Knowthey do not come with thumb screws, I sent it back
easy to install. accurate
What Others Should Knowif you need reading glasses you may not be able to put the rear sight far enough forward on the talon or talonss ,it should be fine on the condor
Everything... It is super easy to install... Accurate and extremely adjustable!!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe price... Too expensive...
What Others Should KnowGo for it... It is nice to change from scope to open sights from time to time... Go For It...
I like its unique design, very harmonious to the Condor and Talon. Easy and quick to slide on and off from the rail, and change to other sighting device.
Things I Would Have ChangedEvery part is very good. I would not change any thing except the surface finish on the plastic part of the rear sight needs to be improved, there is some flash, its' not so nicely trimed on my sight.
What Others Should KnowA Condor/Talon owner should have one.

Front sight seems solid and looks good. Bright.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rear sight is worse than a block of tape with a notch cut in it. No kidding.
What Others Should KnowI got home from the shop with my new Escape SS and the shop placed these sights on the rifle. I removed the rifle from the car and the rear sight plate and fiber optic was missing. Found it in the car. Just fell off like a loose Lego. The fiber optic had been cut in two by its lock screw. Glued the plate back on and found the left/right slide would move easily with slightest touch. Found same for elevation platform. Just a slight push and the sights were completely off. Will not lock down. Then the sight plate fell off again. Take the spouse to a nice dinner and movie. It's money better spent there. I'm not buying any Airforce accessories again. Decent rifle. But now the quality has been severely put to question by this accessory.
