Nice compact design...wont hit ceiling fans if the barrel is pointed up. Wont hit steps if the barrel pointed down.
Things I Would Have ChangedDefinately needs a single shot tray!!!! Someone please come up with one...pretty please!!
What Others Should KnowChoose your pellets wisely!! Short stubby pellets WILL CAUSE A JAM. Ive done will with crow magnums and i also use the tip of a ball point pen to enlarge the skirts prior to loading the mag. The more snug the pellet sits the less frustration you will have. Polymags will fit but i take a finger nail cutter and snip the end of the red tip off as well as enlarging the skirts. If it moves in the magazine, take it out&save yourself a lot of headache.
Fits well at my shoulder (6'-240 lbs.), comfortable to hold, easy to aim. Not so accurate with lighter pellets, likes heavier pellets (18+gr.). Very accurate, at least at my short (18yrd) range, all off hand shooting with a Holosun red dot sight (HS510C). Magazines fit well and index easily, could have been made to hold another round or two and still "fit" within the stock. VERY light, smooth trigger. While I don't have a lot of airgun experience, the shot count per fill seems reasonable.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger is actually too light. There is no "wall" after the initial, short take-up. Needs that positive stop or hard spot to let you know when things are about to happen..! Just one easy, smooth pull to release. The "can" on the end of the barrel is just that, a two chamber can. A little more time could have been spent there to quite the crack a little more, again, for the cost. The safety is a bit cheezey for the cost of the gun. Works, but can be a little fiddly.
What Others Should KnowOverall, happy with the purchase...so far.
Its got great weight and balance. Accurate and very powerful. Over priced - had to have cocking arm moved to other side since I shoot left eyed. Customer service was excellent as it should be for $1,400. But they were excellent.
Things I Would Have ChangedLower the price - its
What Others Should KnowNice rifle. Its great for backpacking.
Very attractive , compact , dynamic design , high power
Things I Would Have ChangedMake the air cylinder more bigger to give more shots .
What Others Should KnowVery accurate , practical usage
Great look and feel really good In your hands and shoulder. The charging handle is outstanding. Love the design.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe presentation package when you open the box needs to be better. The rifle is protected well, but I have seen better from other rifles on the same price range.
What Others Should KnowI am still on the process of testing it for shooting accuracy. The gun feels great and I think that for the price is an excellent purchase. A good scope and a rifle case is needed.

Great ergonomics, lightweight, protected components and ultracompact.
Things I Would Have ChangedLarger capacity magazine would have been nice, but for its niche purpose, it's not a deal breaker. It would be nice to make it quieter, but hard up do with power to size ratio.
What Others Should KnowI'm not sure what all the negative talk about this gun is all about. I think for the new price of $1500, it's a hard pass, but for a refurb for $899, it's a solid choice. I have a. 25 Reign($599) and a .30 Maverick Compact($1,499) and for $899 it's engineering and build quality fits that price range between the 2. It's a much more refined gun and much more pleasant shooting experience than the plasticy unregulated Reign. It's quieter and has a VERY consistent regulator. It's shooting 15.89 Hades at 835fps with 10 fps extreme spread. The Maverick spanks it in every aspect other than ergonomics. The strength of the AP17 is that all of its components like barrel, fill port, gauge and cocking linkages are protected by the stock. I can throw this thing in the truck or boat and bang it around no problem. Its flat profile lends itself to packing and stowing. The trigger is no FX but far superior to the Reign.
