Description

The BP17 is one of Ataman’s most unique airgun creations. With the bullpup’s overall length just under two feet, the BP17 is built as the ultimate backpack gun crafted to the brand's exacting standards.

Beginning with the stock, the Ataman BP17 features all-weather black Soft-Touch coating that covers the beech wood body underneath. This ergonomic stock is ambidextrous and fits snugly and comfortably in your grasp with a rubberized buttplate and pistol style grip. Its onboard 100cc regulated cylinder is built to deliver up to 25 .22 caliber rounds at speeds up to 840 fps.

Each includes two 7rd magazines that can be advanced with a smooth forward positioned lever action. When not in use, each magazine can be stored in a groove right below the optics rail. To keep the rifle backyard friendly, the 14.5” Lothar Walther barrel is fully moderated. Last but not least, the BP17 features a two way adjustable trigger that allows the user to customize the pull to their liking.

If you want the ultimate backpacker PCP air rifle, you couldn’t do much better than the Ataman BP17. With its convenient size, .22 caliber power, and regulated cylinder, the BP17 is destined for greatness on the range or the trail.

Great ergonomics, lightweight, protected components and ultracompact.

Larger capacity magazine would have been nice, but for its niche purpose, it's not a deal breaker. It would be nice to make it quieter, but hard up do with power to size ratio.

I'm not sure what all the negative talk about this gun is all about. I think for the new price of $1500, it's a hard pass, but for a refurb for $899, it's a solid choice. I have a. 25 Reign($599) and a .30 Maverick Compact($1,499) and for $899 it's engineering and build quality fits that price range between the 2. It's a much more refined gun and much more pleasant shooting experience than the plasticy unregulated Reign. It's quieter and has a VERY consistent regulator. It's shooting 15.89 Hades at 835fps with 10 fps extreme spread. The Maverick spanks it in every aspect other than ergonomics. The strength of the AP17 is that all of its components like barrel, fill port, gauge and cocking linkages are protected by the stock. I can throw this thing in the truck or boat and bang it around no problem. Its flat profile lends itself to packing and stowing. The trigger is no FX but far superior to the Reign.

Nice compact design...wont hit ceiling fans if the barrel is pointed up. Wont hit steps if the barrel pointed down.

Definately needs a single shot tray!!!! Someone please come up with one...pretty please!!

Choose your pellets wisely!! Short stubby pellets WILL CAUSE A JAM. Ive done will with crow magnums and i also use the tip of a ball point pen to enlarge the skirts prior to loading the mag. The more snug the pellet sits the less frustration you will have. Polymags will fit but i take a finger nail cutter and snip the end of the red tip off as well as enlarging the skirts. If it moves in the magazine, take it out&save yourself a lot of headache.

Fits well at my shoulder (6'-240 lbs.), comfortable to hold, easy to aim. Not so accurate with lighter pellets, likes heavier pellets (18+gr.). Very accurate, at least at my short (18yrd) range, all off hand shooting with a Holosun red dot sight (HS510C). Magazines fit well and index easily, could have been made to hold another round or two and still "fit" within the stock. VERY light, smooth trigger. While I don't have a lot of airgun experience, the shot count per fill seems reasonable.

The trigger is actually too light. There is no "wall" after the initial, short take-up. Needs that positive stop or hard spot to let you know when things are about to happen..! Just one easy, smooth pull to release. The "can" on the end of the barrel is just that, a two chamber can. A little more time could have been spent there to quite the crack a little more, again, for the cost. The safety is a bit cheezey for the cost of the gun. Works, but can be a little fiddly.

Overall, happy with the purchase...so far.

Its got great weight and balance. Accurate and very powerful. Over priced - had to have cocking arm moved to other side since I shoot left eyed. Customer service was excellent as it should be for $1,400. But they were excellent.

Lower the price - its

Nice rifle. Its great for backpacking.

The LCS SK19 ripped off and copied Huben hammerless design and was sued. But of course a International company suing a american company in american court wouldnt get the best resultsm The original .22 Huben K1 original was far superior to the lcs sk19, more powerful-almost double the power of the sk19 , lighter, more adjustment, more shots and could use slugs unlike the sk19. The newer Gen Huben In .25 has a different choked barrel and not optimized for slugs. Watch Gregor Kamensky on youtube, he has done 1-2 inch groups at 200+ yards with the original Huben K1 In .22. One group was at 270 yards. The original came from the factory to be able to do about 80 ft-lbs In .22 using slugs!! My buddy has a modified .22 Huben that does 110 ft-lbs in 22! The .25 Huben can be tuned to over 150 ft-lbs In .25 using heavy pellets. For the shady practices of the makers of the LCS, which Is I believe american airgun or american airgun technology or something like that, they should go under

I have a sk-19 its a lot of fun I drop human heart sized targets at 100yds all day. The bp17 Im getting a red dot holographic for cus I want quick acquisition short range fun with.

The leshiy is a Brilliant gun and I will be getting one soon. I've been on the fence though looking at the hammerless semi auto Huben K1 too and that's really a fantastic gun too. Now you got the American Air Arms SKS-19 too that's been on the heels of the Huben. The Edguns are a real quality Russian guns though and the Matador, Leshiy and Leyla are all brilliant. I've shot the Matador in .30 and It was phenomenal.

Its funny because Ataman guns are the most returned. Way overpriced junk. My buddy owned 3,The AP16 pistol,This BP17 bullpup and the M2R carbine ultra compact. He had Issues with all of them. Jams, pellet feed Issues, Resevoir and probe hole upside-down next to barrel, could barely Insert probe, and the machining was awful, shred "o"rings. Then he had major Problems leaking after 2 months, noticed the scope base was machined wrong or off. Ataman markets there guns as hunting pcp's. Yeah there big bores are over 10 pounds, add scope and 1 accessory and your talking 15 pounds or more! Try carrying that or shooting off-hand. Also there big bores cant fire any decent sized bullets. Hilarious There asking almost $2000 for the M2R In .357 and It only puts out 143 foot pounds. For $1500-$2000 you could have a custom made, MADE IN USA, Big bore pcp In .30,.35,.40,.45,.50,.58,.72,.82, That would Dessimate any Ataman. Talking 350-450 ft-lbs In .357 and accuracy to 200 yards +!

Very attractive , compact , dynamic design , high power

Make the air cylinder more bigger to give more shots .

Very accurate , practical usage

Burke May 10, 2019

Really? Give it a bigger air cylinder for more shots. It needs a longer barrel for more power. Add a moderator on the end of the shroud so it will be quieter. It needs a longer fore stock so a bipod can be mounted. Yadayadayada. I think you bought the wrong air rifle for your needs. The idea of this air rifle is a light compact air rifle for hunting small game. How many shots do you need for a day of stalking bushy tailed tree rats?

Great look and feel really good In your hands and shoulder. The charging handle is outstanding. Love the design.

The presentation package when you open the box needs to be better. The rifle is protected well, but I have seen better from other rifles on the same price range.

I am still on the process of testing it for shooting accuracy. The gun feels great and I think that for the price is an excellent purchase. A good scope and a rifle case is needed.
