Description

Enjoy two guns for the price of one! Sometimes, you need a .22-caliber rifle for dispatching small rodents, and other times you just want a .177-caliber air rifle for plinking and shooting bullseye targets. With the Beeman Quiet Tek DC air rifle, you get both. Quickly change from one caliber to the other. The .177-caliber will offer the most economical one as far as pellet costs go. But when you need that extra energy, replace the .177 with the .22 barrel and hop to it!

We've recommended some target traps for you in our accessories section. Most are suitable only for .177-caliber guns. Shooting them with .22-caliber pellets could damage them and/or compromise their integrity.

Accurate after installing a strong 1 piece scope mount.

Things I Would Have Changed

Get rid of umbrella looking "sound supressor". They are useless on spring or gas piston air rifles. The noise comes from the mechanics of the gun not the expanding air. On spring or gas pistons compression is occurring the same time while the pellet travels down the barrel. They only work on PCPs and pumpers, where there is a very sudden expansion of air that makes the noise. Also, the length of pull on trigger is less to be desired. One can get used to it though.

What Others Should Know

Get a solid one piece scope mount that has wide scope rings. Otherwise you will most likely have scope creep. Don't buy it thinking its going to be any quieter then any other springer or air ram with similar power.

Like Smaug said, perspective is everything where sound moderation is concerned. Every time I pulled the trigger on my Garand I heard a distinct "ka-chung" of the operating rod and recoil spring in addition to the muzzle blast. Anyone else just heard the muzzle blast. Same with this, the shooter will hear the spring piston mechanism while observers only hear the noise of the shot.

From the shooter's point of view, the noise is from the mechanics of the gun. For others, it is the muzzle blast. Have your wife shoot it with you downrange and (well) off to the side, and you'll see that it sounds quite a lot different than when you're shooting it.
