10 of 15 Beeman Silver Bear Hi-impact .177 Reviews
The pellets were all formed well. They look awesome, just wish they shot out of my gun.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe tin is horrible! once you take the tape off the lid it just falls off. Great company, great product, horrible container.
What Others Should KnowThey would not group in my Stoeger x20s at any distance.
This pellet at 7.10 grains is one of the lightest lead pellets I have, it is a hollow point. It proved to be pretty accurate with high velocity. Good price for 300.
Things I Would Have ChangedNo, it has its place in my collection. I use it mostly for target practice.
What Others Should KnowI shot this pellet thru four different .177 break-barrel rifles for this review. I shot this pellet outdoors in 55 degree weather over my Competition Electronics Digital Prochrono at a 2" Bichwood-Casey target that was placed on a 12"x18" box, 70' away. I shot a string of five pellets from each air rifle. The Ruger Air Magnum averaged 1201 fps with a high of 1222 fps and a low of 1184 fps. The Gamo Big Cat 1250 averaged 933 fps with a high of 953 fps with a low of 924 fps. The Gamo Hunter "220" averaged 895 fps with a high of 905 fps and a low of 888 fps. The Beeman RS2 Silver Kodiak averaged 954 fps with a high of 959 fps and a low of 948 fps. Scope adjustments were made for accuracy on each air rifle by shooting five pellets to set the scope. The Beeman shot/hit all around the two inch target, did manage to hit the bullseye once. Pellets that missed were no more than in inch. I would buy this pellet again for my medium powered air rifles.
one of my all time favorites, flys quick and straight, great for small varmit like birds and small squirrels
Things I Would Have ChangedI noticed the amount has changed from 500 to 300, but the price is the same, the sly way of a price increase
Good high quality straight shooting pellets.
What Others Should KnowThese are excellent for small game &/or varmint hunting. I've taken many game with these. Especially effective with higher powered air guns. I had a hard time believing a pellet gun can effectively shoot a hollow point until I tried these. I always keep a good amount of these on hand.
Great pellet shape, works great in break barrels or pistols with magazines.
Things I Would Have ChangedNeeds a screw-top tin, and a note on the packaging that these suck in bolt-action airguns. The price for this ammo is ridiculous considering the actual weight of the pellet, and the fact that the lead is quite impure.
What Others Should KnowI paid $7 for a 500 round tin of these at Big 5, these are a bad choice for bolt-action guns (the semi-wadcutter face loves to catch on anything, and is prone to flipping over, causing the round to be loaded backwards...), and the lid on the tin loves fall off when you don't want it to.
pellet weight, uniform size and weight, shoots well in my Dad's R7 and all my airguns.
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should Knownothing but great results w/ Beeman pellets!
Extreme accuracy in an RWS 850 magnum
Things I Would Have ChangedA wee bit more weight might improve the terminal effect
What Others Should KnowAfter reading the comprehensive review on the RWS 850 and using the recommended RWS Superdomes, my first thought was that I would never improve upon that accuracy.
I tried Crossman Premiers and got consistent yet large groups; Beeman FTS pellets were erratic...pointing again to the Superdomes.
Then I tried the Silver Bears. I was honestly shocked when the gun consistently put four pellets in one hole...a hole and a quarter occasionally at 20 yards (eight shot clip leads to shooting groups of four).
The problem was the terminal effects. Much like a .243 Winchester, the high speed and light weight made for spectacular kills...or horrible wounding jobs. And we're talking Sparrows here.
This would certainly be the pellet I would choose for paper punching (neat little holes too); but I wouldn't use them on live targets despite the vicious looking hollow point
accuracy and quality control
Things I Would Have Changedthe price, but its worth it
What Others Should Knowi was surprised how accurate these are after reading that i should stick with heavier pellets. these and my jsb predators shot the best groups with my rws 34. dime sized groups at 25 yards with the gun not broken in yet. i'm not sure what i'm going to do when this tin runs out. i may have to buy them again. the quality was amazing and much better than the silver sting. very impressed with this pellet
Beeman quality. Very consistent.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing.
What Others Should KnowThese are very accurate in my wife's RWS Schutze. They also performed well in a Chinese B-3 I used to own. Good for medium power rifles around 400-600 FPS at this pellet weight.

With a low power Daisy Powerline 1 pump pistol, I could spend an hour putting pellets in the same 1/2 Inch target at 20 yards! Not sure about hunting, but for low power target shooting, these are the best I have tried.
Things I Would Have ChangedTighter lid!
What Others Should KnowHard to get anymore.
