3 of 3 Diana Panther 340 N-TEC Air Rifle Reviews
Overall quality is very good. Right out of the box using JSB 14.35 grain .22 pellets I was able to shoot half inch groups at 30 yards.
Things I Would Have ChangedThere are a few things I would change. Trigger has a clean break but transition between first and second stage is hard to detect. I would also like to have a rubber butt plate with spacers to adjust for eye relief. Current butt plate is slick and make gun hard to cock when I place it on my thigh it slips off. This is the first Diana rifle I own and I read they have barrel drop. True I had to shim the scope to account for this
What Others Should KnowN-TEC gas piston has good power without twang of a spring gun
Have (2) Both shoot great one eats anykind of pellet you put in it is accurate with about 6 different pellet weights. from 6.9gr super H to Crosman Premier ,8.5gr Sniper medium, copper trophy 8.8gr ,8.2gr masterkl, shot 5/8"x3/8" Groups at 25m shoots 1"x7/8" groups at 35m Scoped Hawke 50mm , Have already Put almost a Thousand rounds through it . I am having a blast w/it! have taken squirrels w/it One from 28m. NO Friends this is not your Red Rider. I am lucky to have room to shoot out to a 100m 45m is as far as I have tried 1- 3/16 x 1" all are 10 shot groups Was extremely impressed w/ accuracy 20m groups are 1 ragged hole sniper medium 8.5gr seems to be the most accurate so far but have several that shoot under 11/16" x1/2" groups 7 and 8 usually in 1 ragged hole If ya like to shoot and try to shoot accurately
Things I Would Have ChangedWish it was 5.5# like advertised weight. This one is almost 9#s w/Scope but weight makes it a more solid rest .But carrying it ,you know its a weapon , .
What Others Should KnowWatch closely when loading have had different Brands of pellets fall out of barrel throat while closing after cocking and loading.

This is a fine, well built pellet gun. I was able to use open sights at 25 yards and group a 2 inch target with standard lead pellets. It has a gentle recoil and a light triger that makes it a smooth shooting rifle. Now comes time for the scope.
Things I Would Have ChangedI am not impressed with the sights and would recomend this gun as an option for metal sights or scope. The rear optical fiber sight is a bit wide for my preference. Perhaps offer a shorter stock.
What Others Should KnowThe price is fair for the gun, and that it is a reliable weapon.
